How your body looks is a testament to how hard it has fought and persevered. And this attitude is something we can all embody whether we’re breast cancer survivors or not and leading the way to self-love is none other than Kim Kardashian in her latest campaign to celebrate our bodies and what they are capable of.

While October certainly houses the season of frights, ghouls, and ghosts (we love you Halloween), October also explores a darker scare that we should all be aware of. October is breast cancer awareness month and while the focus should be on the fun things in life, we also need to pay special attention to our own health, as well as the wellbeing of those around us who may be feeling a little lost this month.

So, what better way to raise awareness and promote inclusivity that the queen of the Kardashian clan herself, Kim, to raise awareness in the promotion of her new Skims campaign; an ode to the wonderful Olivia Munn and her story.

Every scar tells a story of courage, a testament to a battle fought and a victory won. Scars are a mark of resilience, a symbol of strength worn like a second skin, and no one understands the importance of loving your scars like cancer survivors, and in particular, actress Olivia Munn. In March 2024, Olivia Munn revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer the previous year. After four surgeries, including a double mastectomy, Olivia expressed her relief that it was caught with enough time that she had options, emphasising the importance of checking and remaining aware.

To spread this message, SKIMS have dedicated this month to raising awareness in order to empower women to check themselves regularly and advocate for your health in the instance that you feel something is wrong. This October, Skims is proud to spotlight Olivia Munn’s breast cancer journey to empower women to get tested. From October 23rd to October 31st, SKIMS will be donating to Susan G. Komen, a breast cancer foundation, 10% of the retail sales for each bra sold in SKIMS stores and on SKIMS.com across their US stores and sites again showcasing that Kim is more than stunning businesswomen, she is a mother and individual devoted to empowering women and making sure everyone feels sexy and confident in the own skin.

We’ve spotted queens such as Beyoncé showing us how to rock double denim, influencers in vibrant colour coordinated outfits, y2k looks and risqué cut out pieces on Instagram this week – giving you all the SS21 inspiration you need.

In an iconic Instagram comeback, Beyoncé showed us that double denim is back – she’s spring ready in an Alessandra Rich co-ord. The perfect trend to add to your basket this season to look stylish and put together with two easy items. Bey styled the look with a vintage Chanel bag, bow embellished pumps and a pair of slim square sunglasses – proving that casual doesn’t have to be dull this spring. 

Ines Silva

Looking for a morning coffee run outfit? This look is perfect for all your lockdown easing get togethers, with a warm neutral colour palette and enough layers to keep you comfortable on colder days – this will be your go to look. Ines is wearing a pair of Soul Lesures derby shoes which are embellished with a gold chain, bringing cool to chic. The details are everything here, with her trouser chain co ordinating perfectly. Their cut-out range is perfect for SS21 with the evident rise in risqué trends and unique patterns. Paired with a pair of leather trousers, this look is bound to turn heads in the beer garden.

Another influencer flaunting in new Mugler, we spotted Solene OJ in the illusion neckline bodysuit – this piece is a must-have to complete your wardrobe this spring if the cut-out trend is for you. Remember when we said your shoes can influence the colour palette of your entire outfit? We can all agree that red is timeless, perfect for any season and guaranteed to give any look that extra heat. Duckie Thot is combining the fiery shade with one of SS21’s most noteworthy trends – co-rds. In a Luis De Javier corset and skirt two piece, she looks like a real-life barbie and is guaranteed to stand out. Not only does a co-ord look good but it’s arguably the most practical trend – minimal styling needed but very fashion-forward

Maxine Wylde

Let’s talk about colour coordination – the best way to make any outfit look sleek and put together. Maxine Wydle has perfectly executed the trend, with shades of blue and pink perfectly tying together. The trick is to use accessories to your advantage, this could be a bag, sunglasses, a scarf or even your socks! If it wasn’t already obvious, pastel colours are seriously an essential for spring.

Who said lingerie couldn’t been worn as a staple piece? Raye’s Comic Relief performance outfit proved that you can. Embracing the pastel trend to a T – she showed off her curves in a mesh Rosamosario robe, embellished with feathers and giving us major Romy and Michele energy.

With a more streetwear inspired take on the trend – Jessy Law is park ready and dressed bright enough to ensure she doesn’t go unnoticed. If pastels aren’t for you then you’ll be glad to know that primary colours which make your outfit pop are a must have this spring. Combine them all or centre your outfit around one, either works.

Sustainable can look stylish and Gigi is showing us how that’s done with her H&M blazer from their conscious collection. Not only is this piece bright and vibrant, but its’ cut out sides adds that extra uniqueness. She styled the blazer with a pastel shoulder bag, the perfect way to add an extra, practical, pop of colour to any outfit this season. This look ties together three main style tips for the season, being the controversial yet hot return of low-rise jeans, bold, bright colours and mesh pieces. Looking for a way to stand out this spring? Add a hot pink accessory, or two.

Can you get more timeless than a trench? We all know that sometimes a jacket can be the be all and end all of your outfit; the piece which defines the look. Let’s start with the boots – a pair of lemon Miista heels which can literally match with everything this season, coordinate your colours like this or even use them as your colourful staple with a more neutral outfit.
