These Instagram Looks Of The Week Tell Us The SS21 Accessory Trends You Need To Know About

With the easing of lockdown just around the corner, and sunny days ahead, there’s no better time to start accessorising for summer. This week on Instagram our feed has been filled with lots of vibrant details including noteworthy sunglass silhouettes, hats, and bags to complete any look this season.

Kendall Jenner

Kendall added a pop of orange to our Instagram feed this week wearing an oversized bucket hat, coordinated with her bikini and coloured lens sunnies. When it comes to protecting your head from the sun whilst still looking stylish, the oversized bucket hat is the perfect solution. This timeless silhouette is back and better than ever in SS21. Talking eyewear, one of the biggest trends of the season is a nod to the ’70s, with oversized frames and yellow-tinted lenses.

Elsa Hosk

Crochet accessories are bringing boho back to the mainstream this season. Elsa Hosk wears a red knitted bucket hat – a perfect way to incorporate both trends into an outfit.

Rita Ora

Rita Ora is giving us all the summer accessory inspiration we need. She took to Instagram with a car selfie, dripping in layered jewellery – stacks of colourful beads, freshwater pearls, silver necklaces and lots of rings. To complete the look she wore a rectangular framed, blue-tinted pair of sunglasses. Layering is certainly key for summer.

Beyonce

Beyonce is showing us how to incorporate colour blocking into our accessory game this SS21. She took to Instagram in a vibrant OOTD, with neon orange drop earrings and pops of blue with her mini bag and cat-eye sunglasses. Using details like these to add extra colour to your look is a must-do in our books.

Sita Bellan

Sita is once again giving us so much to discuss. From fringe details, diamanté studded jewellery and crochet gloves – this look ticks off several of this seasons trends. Of course, with the resurgence of y2k, crystal embellishments are back and they add a statement to any outfit, just like this pair of vintage Chanel drop earrings. Crochet is coming in all forms this season and one of the most noteworthy is gloves, adding an element of elegance and chic.

Mahalia

Who said faux fur can’t be worn in the summertime too? This season’s fluffy hat trend says otherwise, Mahalia shared her take on the accessory this week with a pink piece giving us lots of legally blonde vibes. Perhaps one of the most extra headwear trends of the season, bound to make you stand out post-lockdown.

Ambi

Bring out your cow-girl chic this SS21 with the timeless rodeo-style sun-hat. As Ambi proves, it’s the perfect addition to your swimwear this summer.

Dua Lipa

Let’s talk eyewear. Another silhouette that is trending this season is the ‘wraparound’ style sunglasses. Dua Lipa wears a pair from the Marine Serre x Gentle Monster collection in a glossy black colour with blue-tinted frames. A nod to the athleisure side of fashion whilst keeping it cool.

Chi Virgo

One of the more low-key y2k trends that has made a comeback is the trucker hat. Chi Virgo wears a piece from Mowalola in an electric blue, white and red colourway which gives a nod to Paris Hilton and Britney’s Von Dutch phase of the 00s – a brand that has also come back in 2021. The cap is a simple yet classic silhouette to add to any look this summer.

Snoh Alegra

Snoh took to Instagram in funky pattern play, and chunky accessories to match. In oversized, rectangular framed sunglasses and in one the most hyped trends of the season – resin rings – she looks iconic. These bold, creative pieces have popped up all over the fashion scene over the summer. Snoh wears a dreamy, purple piece by Onkalo jewellery.
