With the weather finally warming up, it’s time to retire our sweats. The excitement for spring/summer plans is piling up, and with it, so are our diaries for lunch dates. After being stuck in sweats and zoom-appropriate attire for a year, it can be hard to find the inspiration for dressy lunch dates, which is why we’ve put together a look book of lunch date looks to get you inspired!

With the Girls 

For the perfect casual yet dressy outfit for a lunch date with the girls, keep it simple with a white ruched skirt, paired with a graphic mesh top and accent colours in a shoulder bag and low sling-back mules. Throw your hair back into a claw clip and add a pair of cat-eye shades for an extra flash of class. Perfect for some midday cocktails or an elegant brunch on a sunny street.

Family Brunch 

Heading to meet the family in a cafe or restaurant for brunch? A preppy ensemble is your answer, with a V-neck knit sweater, a black tailored skirt, monogrammed tights, a pearl handle shoulder, and some chunky mules to polish it all off. 

‘60s Spring Lunch

The perfect ensemble to listen to ABBA in en route to your lunch date, try a patterned, brightly coloured open back top paired with some tailored shorts and accessorised with matching chunky heels, a mini bag, and chunky gold hoops. Try a silk scarf as a hair accessory to dress up the look even further.

Light Lunch 

For a light and airy spring lunch look, a white and pastel combo is ideal. A white cotton skater skirt paired with a pale green collared top makes for the perfect spring palette. Accessorise with a white shoulder bag and simple silver hoops to elevate the look. 

Lime ‘n Lilac

For a more casual approach, some denim jeans paired with a bright satin corset and low pastel-coloured heels are the perfect balance for a casual lunch attended in style. A subtle short chain necklace and a pastel shoulder bag to tie the look together fuses the colours seamlessly and makes for a pretty spring-toned look.

Cherry Sweet 

The perfect spring lunch date look is never complete without a puffy sleeve or some heart details. A puffy organza dress with a cute pattern, some white mules, and some heart earrings are perfect to create the cute look. Add a statement heart-shaped bag to match the earrings and make the dress pattern pop.

Quay Australia has announced its latest collaboration filled with glamorous and luxurious sunglasses, and it’s all in partnership with the Icy Girl.

The collaboration solidifies Saweetie’s status as a fashion girl even further, and deservedly so. The collection features brightly coloured shades with fancy ombre and studded designs. Whilst hot pinks, corals, black and tan tones dominate the collection, highlights include the ‘No Cap’ frames, featuring rose-tinted glass and golden link style arms, as well as the Black ‘Harper Studded’ pair featuring mini golden studs in a butterfly style frame.

In a press release, Saweetie shared her thoughts on the exciting collaboration; ‘Everyone knows I love my accessories and sunglasses, so I’m hella excited about my collection with Quay. The styles are all luxe but affordable, so all my ICY Babies can get glammed out and look ‘GOODT’ with a ‘t’ just in time for summer’.

The looking ‘GOODT’ in Saweetie x Quay Australia shades is also accompanied with a sense of feeling ‘GOODT’, since the collaboration also has Quay announcing the return of their ‘Education is Quay scheme, which awards scholarships of $100,000 in collaboration with Saweetie, who graduated from the University of Southern California herself.

In case you hadn’t heard, spring is here! And just in time for the easing of lockdown too. With our social lives starting to pick up a pace resembling normality, we’re expecting to see some of the trends forecasted for this time of year hit the streets.

And boy, do some of these trends pack a punch.

From corsets and cutouts to maxi dresses and visible thongs, this season’s trends are anything but subtle – or weather appropriate, considering the UK’s reluctance for warmer weather. As such, not all of these looks have actually made it beyond the four walls of most peoples’ homes. The emphasis on statement pieces such as these can seem intimidating, especially as we emerge from the lockdown-loungewear era.

One place we can turn to for inspiration though is the internet, and specifically celebrities. Celebs are usually ahead of the game with trends, but this year it seems like they’re coming back with a vengeance. For those looking to add a little spice to their spring wardrobe, where better to start than with some of our favourite celebs?

After all, if they can do it, so can we.

Maxi Dresses

One of the most popular fashion choices for spring this year is a maxi dress, and we can see why. Versatile enough to battle the chillier spring days while still appearing fresh and season-appropriate, a maxi dress is a perfect transitional piece for those wanting to tentatively step outside their comfort zone. Kendall Jenner recently posted an image of herself in a gorgeous pink max dress with puffed shoulder sleeves, giving us all the warm, spring vibes we’re craving this season. The drama of the maxi dress means it doesn’t need much styling beyond a pair of sandals or trainers (or in Kendall’s case, cowboy boots), so little effort is needed to achieve an iconic look!

Cut Outs

Cut outs were one of the more daring trends forecasted for this spring. Definitely one for the warmer weather and socially distanced night out, the cut out adds dramatic sexiness to the usual item of clothing. Just look at Miley Cyrus, the current queen of rock-pop, who wears her cutouts in a pattern-like zip up the front of her trousers. The daring look is a far cry from our favourite pair of joggers, but its sleek and edgy appearance have us drawn like a moth to a flame.

Sheer Fabrics

Another item for the warmer weather, sheer and mesh clothing items are expected to make an appearance as a layering item. Adding texture, colour, and playfulness to an outfit, the sheer item (whether a top, dress, or trousers), will surely be a staple of future nights out – and Rihanna shows us just how to approach the trend. Spotted attending her mother’s birthday party, the singer showed off her absolutely flawless style in a brown Saint Laurent blazer, Bottega gloves, and Supriya Lele trousers. The trousers, which were a sheer material, were an exciting addition to what could have been a simple suit outfit, elevating the overall look to something chic and edgy. Wide Leg Trousers

Wide leg trousers aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, if Gen Z have anything to say about it. The trend has seen a resurgence – partly due to the rise of Y2K and our recent affinity for more relaxed fits – and continues to be a favourite for many celebs. Bella Hadid was seen on her Instagram going all-out with the noughties theme, combining a pair of baggy joggers with a one-shoulder asymmetrical top (iconic). Ariana Grande has also tried out the trend, as seen on her Instagram where she wore wide leg jeans with a long-sleeved crop top – perfect for the seasonal transition.

Corsets & Visible Thongs

We’ve got a double whammy here – and one we didn’t expect, either. Corsets and visible thongs seem like completely different concepts on the trend spectrum (despite the fact they both have something to do with underwear), but it seems like the right styling can make them a good match. One of Saweetie’s most recent Instagram posts highlights this perfectly, showing the musician in a cream butterfly print corset, low-slung trousers, and a peach-coloured thong. If you’re looking to raise some eyebrows and live your best life, this may be a look to try out.

Since 2021 gave us the amber light for summer plans, we can finally make use of the summer wardrobe that was limited to the inside of four walls last year. Triangular 

Showing up in the SS21 collections of Hermes, Givenchy, and Jil Sander, the sleek, dynamic triangular, or otherwise known as the two-fold bag is one of the top trending bags this summer. The perfect addition to a simple full-length summer dress or a light cotton shirt and tailored trouser ensemble, the triangular bag in its almost office-like beauty brings a sleek, sophisticated dynamic to your summer wardrobe. 

Market 

Though they’ve made a regular appearance in many a Spring/Summer trend throughout history, the market bag is even more of a just-have this year. The string shopper bags always have a home on the summery streets of Italy, France, and Spain in many a movie, which is why adding it to your summer ‘21 wardrobe is ideal for giving yourself those holiday outfit vibes we’ve all been missing out on. Though your summer plans may be restricted to local towns and beaches, the shopper bag can help bring a holiday-like vibe to your outfit, not to mention it’s the perfect accessory to dress down any summer outfit and make you look like you’ve stepped out of a Pinterest board.

Mini Jacquemus 

The mini Jacquemus purse trend is one of our favourites, and a real ode to the iconic miniature handbag Lizzo took to the American Music Awards. The Jacquemus mini bags have taken over our Instagram and Pinterest feeds in all their different colours, and they’re the perfect pop of colour to our Spring/Summer outfits. Either casually strapped across the body or handheld for a chic-er look, their plain but colourful designs are ideal for matching up with almost any of your summer outfits.

Crochet 

Crocheted garments have made a huge return for this summer, from dresses and two pieces to trousers, even sweeping up accessories up with it. Crocheted bags are the go-to beach bag this summer. Whether it matches your all-out crocheted outfit (like the Chanel ‘21 crocheted skirt), or whether it’s one simple crochet addition to your summer ensemble, it’s ideal for keeping your look cool and casual.

Noughties

The revival of the ‘90s and ‘00s wear are all the rage in every aspect of our wardrobes right now, and we couldn’t be happier about it. Sticking around for another summer, the miniature shoulder bags ever popular in the late ‘90s to early ‘00s are a summer wardrobe must-have for 2021. Specifically in Nylon, thanks to Prada who relaunched their hit ‘90s bags this year, the bags are ideal for matching with almost any outfit, and due to their popularity, you should be able to pick one up in just about any colour.

PacSun

As part of its 2021 spring/summer campaign, California-based brand PacSun have released a new gender-free collection. The Gen Z favourite is setting a precedent in contemporary fashion by directing the brand’s focus to self-reflection and mental health, inviting a selection of young changemakers – including Emma Chamberlain, Charlotte D’Alessio, and Nara Aziza – to join the campaign and support its message.

Youth culture is intrinsic to PacSun’s brand DNA, and this is reflective of the clothing they have on offer this season. Expect to see tie-dye co-ord sets, candy-striped knitwear, and check denim alongside relaxed hoodies and joggers.

Hanifa

Hanifa have just released their second drop of their ‘Capsule’ collection, comprising of loungewear sets, bodycon dresses, and psychedelically patterned halter tops. Designed by Anifa Mvuemba, the collection explores an optimistic vision of a post pandemic future – transitioning from today’s relaxed styles to ‘going out’ appropriate fits.

ZARA x Starter

Athletic brand Starter are celebrating their 50th anniversary by launching a partnership with high street giant ZARA. Starter are well known for their fusion of sports clothing and popular culture, having previously formed partnerships with major professional sporting bodies to connect the consumer market with their favourite sports stars.

The new Women’s capsule collection includes T-shirts, a vest dress, crop top, shorts, joggers, reversible bucket hat, and a bodysuit. The colour palette also heavily references spring tones and shades, with an emphasis on pink, white, and blue.

The RealReal

As a resale retailer with a mission to keep luxury items in circulation, The RealReal recently teamed up with eight luxury brands to launch a collaborative upcycled collection titled ‘ReCollection 01’. Transforming damaged clothing into new, one-of-a-kind items, the collection features pieces from big names like A-Cold-Wall, Balenciaga, Dries Van Noten, Jacquemus, Simone Rocha, Stella McCartney, Ulla Johnson, and Zero + Maria Cornejo.

Lazy Oaf

The Lazy Oaf brand recently launched Drop 2 of its summer collection, ‘Oaf TV’. Made up of seventeen individual items, Drop 2 is all about spring florals, pastels, and bold prints.

The brand had genderless styling in mind when it came to creating this collection, and so unisex co-ord items feature prominently in its line-up. Other standouts from the collection include daisy-patterned co-ord sets (with a matching bucket hat), pastel purple hoodies and jumpers, and a pair of floral dungarees.

Comme des Garcons PLAY x Converse

The iconic PLAY logo has graced the sides of Converse sneakers since 2009, sending customers out into the world with little red hearts on their feet. For their newest collaboration, PLAY have been introduced to Converse’s Jack Purcell sneaker. The low-top sneaker is already known for its ‘smiley face’ rubber toe, so the addition of some cheeky heart faces peeking over the rubber sole of the shoe only adds to their charm.

Supreme x Dr. Martens

Another collaboration making its debut this month is the Supreme and Dr. Martens revamp of the 5-Eye Shoe, an iconic lace-up from the British footwear brand. Three versions of the 5-Eye Shoe will be available – expect to see bold designs in brick orange and zebra print alongside Dr Martens’ usual classic black.

The orange and black versions will be rendered in leather, with tonal stitching used to break up the blocks of solid colour. In contrast, the zebra print shoe will be made from pony hair, giving it a more textural look.

Agent Provocateur’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection will make you want to upgrade your lingerie collection and embrace fearless femininity with its daring designs.

The London based brand that had recently launched a size-inclusive collection is here to enchant us once again, this time presenting a “reimagined utopia with a sensual plot-twist” through their SS21 range. The collection starring the French actress Joséphine de La Baume and Zimbabwean-British model Nyasha Matonhodze embodies femininity from an ethereal vision.

“We are so happy that Joséphine de La Baume is back, a decade after starring in her first AP campaign, to lift our ‘Utopia’ off the page. Josephine effortlessly settles into her role of the AP woman, a fearlessly feminine, confident, and totally unique heroine, ready for anything,” explains Agent Provocateur’s creative director, Sarah Shotton, in the latest press release.

It presents an ethereal beauty through the inclusion of gothic elements noticeable in the

embellishments of the collection, such as in the Taisa set with its structured garments, and more idyllic ones through the colours inspired by the Aurora Borealis. Transmitting the beauty of sensuality through the balance of; good and evil, innocent and daring, delicate and rebellious. As announced by Agent Provocateur this collection invites you to be “ a heroine in your own utopia with lingerie that is elegantly kinky”, to become the main character in your own story with pieces to embrace your seduction and confidence.

The British label Charlotte Knowles revealed its debut campaign and with it transported us
into a world of “fantasy and nostalgia” as explained by the co-designers Charlotte Knowles
and Alexandre Arsenault.


The Spring/Summer 2021 campaign was presented in the format of a short film shot by
Harley Weir, a British photographer known for her daring visual approach to fashion and
never-ceasing aim to challenge monotonous and out-dated creativity. The title of the film –
PETALS – perfectly captures the essence of its imagery and feminine designs.
If you’ve been following us for a while, you already know about our obsession with current
SS21 campaigns, however, we have to admit that this one just hit differently. It is not just a
fashion film promoting a beautiful collection, it is a mixture of emotions transmitted through
unique clothing that merges romanticism (which we can never have enough of) and some
form of gothic and grotesque elements. An unusual combination that, as strange as it seems,
promotes a symbolic discourse based on positivity due to its vision of fashion as an
opportunity to recreate one’s self.


This collection acts as a portal through different fashion eras, the 70s are subtly present
through the inclusion of florals, but this time not in the actual clothing… we know, it’s
actually groundbreaking. The 00s are everything, marking the brand’s iconic silhouettes and
psychedelic designs and the futuristic aspect frames the entire video via the technical music
choice and the captivating chaotic editing.


It’s a modern representation of the different sides of femininity, on how fashion can represent more than one style and even set of beliefs… It’s daring, just like us, and that’s why you
should watch it and keep up with the emerging fashion brand.
