This bold smokey eye, done by @nikki_makeup on the stunning Lulu Reynolds, brings all the focus onto the eyes. The glowy base and almost bare lips create a stunning contrast to the eye makeup. Done with a gel liner or black eyeshadow, the eyes take inspiration from grunge and punk, while still maintaining a sophisticated style. The dramatic mascara is the cherry on top of the already striking look, perfectly framing Reynolds’ eyes.

Bedazzled Goth

Jazzelle Zanaughtti, AKA @uglyworldwide on Instagram, posted a bedazzled goth-inspired look on their page and had commenters fawning over them. From the gems on the eyebrows to the black lip liner, there’s not a single thing we’d change about this look. The simple fox eye and warm-toned blush gave the look a beautiful simplicity between the eyebrows and lip colour.

Cindy Kimberly (@wolfiecindy), shared this rosy look on her Instagram. Paired with the ribbon in her hair and the white dress, this look gave her an angelic beauty. The silver and peach eye makeup made her eyes stand out, without making it too dramatic and the rosy cheeks and glossy lips matched the neutral colours on her eyes.

Ashley Quiroz (@ashghotcakess) gave us this wavy graphic liner using all Revlon products. The summery inner corner and the precise eyeliner beautifully contract each other. Her flawless base was topped off with some peach blush and subtle highlighter.

Leaving her natural dark tresses in 2021, Dua Lipa has started the new year with an ultra cool half and half hair look. Bleach blonde strands define the face, while minimal peeps of brunette come through from beneath, creating a dramatic black and white effect.

Letting her natural locks do all the talking, Aduta Kech looked vacay-ready as she accessorised her tresses with a patterned silk scarf. Her sun kissed skin required no product at all, aside from SPF and a healthy pump of gloss on the lips!

Popping Pink

Looking pretty in pink, beautiful Belle certainly got the memo! Playing around with a range of shades, here is how you can achieve her look. Go with a bold, attention grabbing pink around the eyes to make them pop, followed by a warm toned shade to accentuate the cheekbones, add a darker iteration on the lips, and a sparkly metallic for the nails. Fluffy earmuffs and an animal print coat are required to complete this look!

One thing these makeup creations all had in common (other than being gorgeous) is that they were all focussed around the eyes, whether that be by using contouring techniques, graphic liner or bold colours. We wanted to give you a rundown of these looks, with some top tips on how to achieve them yourself.

FKA twigs

For her recent music video with The Weeknd, twigs rocked this mesmerising makeup look. With her eyes taking centre stage, twigs emphasised this feature by using a silver graphic liner and adding gemstones around her brow bone. She kept her skin glowy and natural, really letting her eyes do the talking. 

Bella Hadid

Striking a smouldering glare, you can’t help but be drawn into Bella’s dark smokey eyes. To achieve a look like Bella, make sure to place a tacky eye pencil on your lid to ensure you get a dark consistent shade that stays in place.

Megan Thee Stallion 

We can always rely on Thee Stallion to serve looks, and this week was no different. The star rocked a silver smokey eye with a glossy lip as she hit the stage. This look would be perfect for a fun festive night out, and we will definitely be using this as our inspiration!

Isamaya Ffrench

Isamaya kept her look understated whilst achieving a glossy glistening appearance. This makeup is so easy to recreate, just make sure you have a shimmery champagne shade for your lid, liquid eyeliner to achieve a cat eye and a nude gloss.

Christina Aguilera 

Sometimes, you just need to stand out from the crowd, and with a look like Christina’s, that you will. This electrifying hot pink shade makes Christina’s blue eyes pop whilst offering a fun camp look. 

Gabriette

Contouring doesn’t have to be exclusively used to carve out your cheekbones, using contour shades on your eye socket will have your eyes standing out more than ever. Similarly to the technique used when contouring your face, place the dark shades where the light wouldn’t hit your eye, whilst placing a bright white shade where the light will hit. To accentuate your eye shape further, create a black cat eye with liner the way Gabbriette has.

Her cupid’s bow is beautifully drawn in a heart shape and the way she has bleached her brows to re-pencil them in makes her look like she has walked out of a modern talkies movie.

This is fabulously fresh, stripped-back makeup perfect for summer. Her eyebrows are filled and tamed to perfection, a pop of orangey blush and freckles sun-kiss her skin and forgoing the lipstick and playing with liner gives a girly look some edge.

Massive congratulations to Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez on their wedding! Ari’s is known for a strong winged liner but for her big day, she dialed it down keeping it thin, subtle and elongated. The whole look was very matt, with a devastating contour and a brown-toned pink lipstick.…. is looking regal and bang on-trend. A pop of purple shadow frames the eyes, skin is flawless and that contour emphasizes her killer cheekbones. The nude glossy lip is also working for her.

Lizzo is dabbling in the grey hair trend and owning it. To add more monochromatic vibes to her recent Instagram post, she also matched her eye shadow, nails and jewellry to fit the vibe. Topped off with some big, fluttery eyelashes, she practically oozed sass.
