We’ve heard rumbling of certain celebrities utilising sea moss for a while now, but no more than since it exploded onto the Tiktokscape with upwards of 412 million views on the hashtag #seamoss. Amongst these stars, Kim Kardashian and Jack Harlow have all come in clutch explaining how it benefits their general routine, from good looks to gym recovery.

The Sea Moss fad is unlikely to fade. We may hear of it less with time, but rest assured people will still be using it as they have done for years before, it is after all one of those old wives’ tales. Versace SS23

Gothic goddess seemed to be the reigning aesthetic at the Versace SS23 show with intense purples, pinks and blacks taking centre stage. The show featured flattering silhouettes and a diverse selection of textures such as leather fringe, lace. The models sported a variety of beauty looks from dark, smokey eye looks to purple lips. Star of The Simple Life and all-round1 socialite Paris Hilton closed the show in a glimmering pink dress with fingerless gloves and a veil – that’s hot.

Dolce & Gabbana SS23

Kim Kardashian has had a torrid relationship with fashion, some live for her and some want her dead, but this fashion week Kim K has been elevated to muse as she was projected above the runway as the models walked down. Tight dresses, skirts and catsuits in blacks, silver and nude were strutted down the runway with several sheer elements that seemed to be very popular this season. Models wore the classic feline flick that D&G always go for.

Diesel SS23

Diesel is back with their vaguely sexual blow-up humanoid dolls for another killer runway. Creative director Glenn Martens has made a name for himself as a boundary-pushing artist and this runway was no different. Featuring shredded maxi dresses, trench coats, everyone’s favourite new mini skirt and a ton of denim and leather, this collection has already started making waves online with the likes of Kanye West reposting it. Several models were painted completely in glitter whilst others appeared to have a little blood on them, a general grungy vibe influenced the beauty.

Cavalli SS23

Models at the Roberto Cavalli show strutted down a glistening black stage wearing odes to old Hollywood. Whilst there was the use of animal print and catsuits, the majority of the collection featured hourglasses silhouettes in the form of shift dresses, silk slips, frilly blouses and geometric cuts.

Boss SS23

Since the dawn of remote working, the question of what to wear to work has been a daunting one, but Boss’s newest collection has a few suggestions. Baggy trench coats, long blazers, oversized suit trousers and slicked hair were all featured, with a turn-of-the-century Patrick Batemen look appearing to be popular. Naomi Campbell and Future both walked the show, as Boss ambassadors alongside the likes of Kendall Jenner, Hailey Beiber, and Tik Tok star Khaby Lame

Moschino’s newest collection is camp and glamour in equal measure. Large inflatables and wacky patterns and colours adorned classic silhouettes – this bubbly, retro collection is not one we will forget soon!

Prada SS23

Prada newest runway has two main focuses, diversity and grunge as a record number of gender non-conforming models debuted at Prada. Models wore large black eyelashes that shadowed their face as they strutted down the simple catwalk in grey uniform-like dresses and catsuits, brown crumpled dresses, silver blues silk slips, and sheer dresses.

Tod’s SS23

Tod’s newest collection is a very neutral one. Blacks, whites, browns, blacks and tans were the focal colours at the show as models wore sophisticated trenches, suits, dresses and baggy coats. Carla Bruni and Naomi Campbell closed the show in classic 80s supermodel manor, with drama!

Gucci SS23

At Gucci, this season’s biggest accessory was the twin. Identical models strutted down the catwalk holding hands in various designs from a classic tailored suit with stocking-inspired trousers to floral dresses with embellished sunglasses. Whilst the collection was diverse, it is clear that there are two features that’ll be very popular this season, and that’s futuristic sunglasses and a good suit.

DSquared2 SS23

Dsquared2 collection was very bright and fun, with models sporting clashing patterns and colours and lots of layering. Tailoring was also spotted as certain models sported striped colourful suits that played the line between smart and psychedelic.

Bluemarine SS23

Denim ruled at Bluemaries spring summer collection – and the rest of Milan fashion week… Flowing maxi dresses and tight, distressed denim were all spotted at the show as well as an insane denim cross top that we’re putting it in our wish list as we speak.

Cormio SS23

Cormio’s usual whimsy was personified in the young children that walked alongside models at their Milan fashion week show. Surrounded by books, toys and teddies, models wore colourful, frilly designs as playful jazz score played.

Avavav SS23

One model falling is a faux pas, all of them doing it is a fashion sensation. Models at the Avavav show donned futuristic glasses, furry boots, strapless one-pieces and lots of silver glitters and each took a turn falling on the catwalk.

Fenty in support of the Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF). The not-for-profit organisation, which was
founded by Rihanna in 2012 in honour of her grandparents Clara and Lionel Braithwaite, aims to
support education, health, the effects of climate change and emergency response programs
around the world, through a number of different funding initiatives. In an attempt to improve the
quality of life for communities worldwide, the foundation advocates for global policy and systemic
change, enabling groups to take action in response to the global injustices we see today.
Savage X Fenty have been praised for their continuous support of the campaign and the resilience
work they do across the world. Since 2012 the Clara Lionel Foundation has been able to raise

The new collection consists of two luxury dressing robes and the labels first pair of (fluffy!)

Nothing can make a look pop like a bold shade of hot pink. Not only is the colour trending in fashion, it’s found it’s limelight in the beauty world too – and not just with hair. Rowi Singh took to Instagram with an experimental, almost airbrush-like, look as part of her ‘Power Colour’ series and we’re up for the challenge of re-creating it. Using pink lashes by Isabelle De Vries and shades from Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera palette, it’s impossible to not think pink this spring.

Ocean Eyes

One of our favourite looks by Doja in her recent ‘shadow experiments is this two-tone blue look which quite literally makes us think ‘ocean eyes’. With navy highlights on the crease and a wing created with paler blue tones on the outer eyes, lots of layer and depth is constructed. Note how you’re drawn to the eyes despite the coordinating blue top.

Lilac Magic

When in doubt add some lilac to your look, and what’s even better? Shimmer. In this full eye, artistic styling by Sophia Sinot – a mesmerising magical aura is created. With pops of highlight accentuating the lilac tones under the eye and nose, coloured gem freckles adding extra glam and the air-brushed effect providing an ethereal feel.

The Mint Edit

Ok so maybe you’d never thought to combine mint green and purple in your make up look, and we hadn’t – until now. These shades work together so well and Stenie took to Instagram to show us just how it’s done. With purple liner highlighting the eye, and bold cat eye-shaped mint shadow illuminating the entire lid – this look is bound to get you compliments this SS21.

A Touch Of Pearl

Pearls are definitely going to make a statement around your neck this spring, but who said they can’t be on your eyes too? In a chic, elegant smoky eye look, Char Barker lined her lids with small pearl studs which add a unique sense of texture and shimmer to the eyes. Although we can’t imagine the skill and patience it must take to apply each pearl, the effort is definitely worth it to create this head-turning eye statement.

The Eyes Chico They Never Lie

The main thing to take from this beauty looks round up is that your eyes are a canvas and it’s up to you to experiment and express yourself! Beauty influencer Soreya took to Instagram with a bold, neon patterned combination that is full of unbelievable talent – with contrasting pink tones on the lid and green highlighting the under eye and nose, created using melaliners by Chanel Cosmetics. There are no rules this SS21, go crazy.

Beyoncé

In a maxi side split dress by Alessandra rich, T-cut Jimmy Choo stilettos and touches of diamanté – Beyonce is bringing back timeless details. A nod to the 00s, with a crystal embellished choker giving us major Destiny’s Child after party vibes. In a close look at accessories, Beyonce wears earrings and angular sunglasses to match which tells us that you can never have too much bling.

Saweetie

Sustainability is cool and Saweetie’s Frisk Me Good up-cycled set proves it. She took to Instagram in a snow pants co-ord entirely re-worked from an Aladdin-themed sleeping bag, paired with the ‘Guava Ice’ Jordan 4s and a Miu Miu crystal-embellished chain belt. Fashion is moving in the right direction with lots of eco-minded designers taking creativity to the next level and making it relevant. 

Anastasia Karanikolaou

Another step towards sustainability can be rooted in the move towards wearing vintage, Anastasia wears a re-worked Jean Paul Gaultier set from his ‘Psychedelic Faces’ SS2000 collection. The brand behind this piece is Yuris Market. Both stylish in its high fashion roots and trending with vibrant patterns making a return to the limelight. Yuris Market’s work is one-of-a-kind, so grab yourself an up-cycled piece while you can. We’ve sourced the rare dress below in all its original glory – and the splashes of blue, orange and yellow are perfect for SS21.

Tinashe

Tinashe took to Instagram in an ethereal look for her ‘Love Line’ music video. The outfit is very butterfly themed, with a knitted co-ord that’s part of the unreleased S/S Blumarine collection. The top is embellished with an intricate butterfly design tying together her Butterfly belly chain and Sugar Thrillz platform heels. Being the insect of spring and with the resurgence of y2k – the details are everything. The dreamy lilac colour palette is a reminder of how pastels are in, and the look is complete with a pair of vintage Dior visor sunglasses.

Avani

When it comes to patterns – the groovier the better. Avani wears a pair of marble print trousers which give a huge nod to the return of 70s silhouettes. She paired the piece with a cute, cropped polo shirt by Cider and the Maison Chateau Rouge Jordan 1 Mid trainers – making it street. Note the colour coordination, with shades on the sneakers matching effortlessly with her top. Putting extra thought into your palette this spring can elevate any look.

Eyes Rodgers

Cut outs are one of our favourite trends this season because of how versatile and unique the designers behind them are. Eyes Rodgers wears a piece by Erys Studio, the dress has an amazing asymmetric silhouette with a leg holster detail. She has paired the dress with a pair of La Moda chunky knee-high boots and when it comes to footwear platform has definitely made it’s return. This pair is embellished with buckle details and tattoo prints – bringing an edgy aesthetic to the look.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is Cowgirl cool in a pair of brown suede flares and a co-ordinating figure-hugging corset. If you’re ever caught in a going-out top panic this spring, keep the corset handy – the silhouette is timeless and just about matches with everything. Kim paired the look with a cross pendant and croc-print patent strappy heels. 

Matcha

Aside from groovy marble prints and floral patterns, the cyber dots are also trending this spring. From their origin in 1995 at the Jean Paul Gaultier fall runway, this year they’ve made a comeback – even the Brit awards earlier this week used the pattern as a central theme at the show. Matcha wears a mesh co-ord set from O Mighty which is a vibrant sunset ombre colour.

Kylie Jenner

If you needed more inspiration on how to incorporate the mesh trend into your going out looks this spring, Kylie Jenner wore a neon Otto Linger set and we want to steal the styling. Paired with the Amina Muaddi open toe satin heels in a co-ordinating shade of yellow, transparent bangles and a matching Otto Linger bag. We love how experimental designers are getting with their mesh pieces, this piece is very artistic with brush-stroke like patterns in shades of yellow and green.

Wuz G00d

If there’s one way to sum up the trends of SS21, Wuz Good has it down to a T – pattern play. The streetwear influencer took to Instagram in a Ragged Priest patchwork piece that features a combination of pastel floral and striped themes. Clashing in the best way possible, she paired the trousers with a monochrome stripped knit jumper and neon green shades by Akila Eyewear. The look is bold, bright and boujee.

We tend to look at fashion as a reflection of constant change, a stylistic evolution following trends and cultural development. But we forget that this is not always the case, the beauty of fashion sometimes simply relies on its roots, on the history behind certain brands and their designers.

KENZO’s Fall-Winter 2021 collection is the embodiment of this, the demonstration that reimagining and honouring ones’ past can be as exciting and moving away from it.

Current creative director Felipe Oliveira Baptista decided to pay homage to the late founder Kenzo Takada, who passed away last October due to Covid-19 complications, through the latest FW collection. The collection was presented in the format of a live fashion film titled ‘KENZO Always’ and captured the vivid character of the late Paris-based Japanese designer, reminding us of his cross-cultural references, innovative silhouettes and “visionary spirit”.

Baptista had already demonstrated his impressive artistic direction in his first show for KENZO’s FW20, ‘Going Places, by maintaining alive the energetic approach to fashion cherished by Tekada and his designs. Yet he succeeded to surprise us once again with the ‘KENZO Always’ immersive collection and complementary virtual show.

The virtual show directed by Oliver Hadlee Pearch, choreographed by Jordan Robson, and accompanied by Planningtorock’s music was a reflection of Tekada’s freedom through eccentric and convenient fashion.

As explained by the Portuguese designer himself in a recent interview with Vogue, the collection was driven by his will to depict the “movement, comfort and freedom” that clothes can give you, while maintaining the eye-catching style of KENZO. Such as done with its folkloric garments and vibrant colour palette. The oversize choices, the textured materials and their neon colours redimension the essence of this brand, showcasing a series of dynamic looks that remind us of old KENZO shows but adapted to our ‘now’.

A now that relates to the idea of movement and comfort in our current state, to the lockdown and its limiting circumstances. The Kenzo FW21 collection feels almost like a translation of our current times into clothing, presenting a sort of duality that incorporates both Baptista’s time-relevant designs and KENZO’s timeless genes.
