She truly is an empath, explaining feelings and small details about my life that no one but a psychic could have known! Her ability to tune into your character, whilst also explaining the future she sees for you is incredible. Serena looked me in the eye with her piercing grey eyes and said, “What is the name of the male I keep seeing in your reading? I see a lot of dishonesty he’s just been overseas with another woman”. I was shell-shocked at this point! Serena was talking about a guy who was in my life who had been lying to me about another woman in his life. “I have so much to tell you girl you don’t even know the half.” Let’s put it this way, she gave me all the confirmation I needed. Deeper into the interview, we find that Serena’s journey into astrology began in her teenage years. Growing up in a family that respected both science and spirituality, she was always surrounded by spirituality. 

I’d like to potentially talk a little bit more about your background, like when did you discover your gifts?

“I discovered I had this gift at the young age of 8 years old. I was very young, and this is something that I have so much experience with, like a lot of psychics or mediums that you come across, they don’t discover they have gifts until their teenage years – but I knew at the very young age of 8,” she recalls. 

She explains that she is a fourth-generation psychic, with her great-grandmother, grandmother, and own mother all having the gift. Her involvement with the spirits did not deter her, however, from attempting to pursue other careers. She told us that she studied real estate, taking her exams, going to her classes, and pursuing that qualification – all while her gifts of clairvoyance, clairsentience, tarot, and spiritual empathy hung in the background. However, she explained that she always still felt a pull towards her gift and the spiritual world. Her qualification in real estate couldn’t keep her away from wanting to share her gift with others, as she says, “I love real estate, but I don’t know, something was telling me that I shouldn’t be doing this.”

You know when you said you discovered your gifts when you were like, 8 years old? So, fast-forward to you posting your first video. How did you blow up across socials? I can see you’ve got a great following on TikTok; how did this happen for you?

She reveals that it was her mother who prompted her success on social media, particularly TikTok and Instagram. She explained to us:

“She told me ‘You have to try putting yourself on Tik Tok, you have to share your gift.’ And I told her ‘Mom, I am not posting readings on Tik Tok. TikTok is for kids, are you crazy? I’m not doing that’ and she was like ‘No, I’m telling you. Post a video of yourself doing a collective reading and I promise you something good will come out of it. Okay?’She said, ‘I had a dream about you doing this, so you have to try it.’ So, I said ‘Okay, fine.’ She wouldn’t let me live that down, and she drove me insane. And it took me about a month to give in to her and do it. I do my first TikTok video, and I lay a bunch of cards out on the table, and I do a reading from what I feel in my heart. And I kid you not, the very first TikTok I posted got nearly a million views and I went viral overnight. It was overnight it happened; it was incredible. I was like ‘Wow, this is crazy.’ It’s amazing how God puts certain people in your life, and it’s like God gave that message to my mom to do what I do today, it’s incredible.”

After her first video was posted in 2022, Serena rose to fame almost overnight with her videos consistently getting hundreds of thousands or even millions of views. Her mass-reading of tarot-style videos inspired many other creators, particularly across TikTok. I’m saying these are friends that I’ve known for 10 years plus, and it’s just like as you elevate as a person and as you change as a person, you lose a lot of friends. Unfortunately. The thing is a lot of people are on different levels of life. I’m gonna say this, people are weird. Some people are going to try to sabotage you for no reason, absolutely no reason. Some of those people can be close friends and people you just trusted with everything, but unfortunately, as you get older and you see people for what they truly are, you learn that you cannot trust everyone. I have a couple of really close people to me that always cheered me on.” I’ve met amazing people, especially these last 8 months at the most random places and times. It’s amazing how you can just click with someone and have similarities. It’s a feeling you cannot describe. Certain people are fated to be in your life. One thing I’ve learned however is to never force a connection. Whether it’s friends or love. If someone wants a bond with you it’ll naturally flow, you’ll feel it in your gut. You’ll just know. I’m a firm believer people should be direct with their intentions. Communication is key. If you feel something it’s for a reason. In certain situations I feel it’s ok to express what you feel, it drives me insane if someone shuts you out, etc. As an Aries like myself, I love direct people! God and the universe will bring you and the people you’re meant to be with at the right place and the right time. I have a couple of really close people to me that always cheered me on and supported me and I’m forever grateful.”

So, I’m guessing you do this full-time now? You know when you see all these bot accounts doing readings and stuff, and loads of people doing it, and you’re like ‘What’s authentic and what’s not here?’I just knew and I feel like I’m going to see you everywhere over the next few years, I think you’re going to go even bigger.

“I do. I do, it’s a full-time thing. You know, they do say, you’ve got to wake up every day loving what you do, and I finally understand it at 30. It’s fulfilling me, and it’s the most fulfilling thing to do and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I feel like this was just my calling. And thank you, you know, that means the world to me, it does. It truly does just mean so much.”

Set in a small town in Pennsylvania, Pat a former teacher with bipolar disorder is released from a psychiatric hospital and moves back in with his parents, and meets a young widow, Tiffany, who also struggles with mental illness. The two bond over their struggles and Tiffany offers to help him get his wife back if he enters a dance competition with her. Starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, and Robert De Niro, it’s an interesting portrayal of mental illness resulting in a bittersweet flick a Taurus will appreciate.

Though they decide to exchange letters with each other after he is deployed to the war the course of true love never did run smoothly. This film is full of heart – perfect for softies like Cancers. It’s a sob fest for sure.

You can spot a Leo as soon as they enter a room. Full of confidence and comfortable being the centre of attention they need a fun flick featuring a lead as cool and enigmatic as they are. We all watched it and loved it as kids but when was the last time you revisited Wild Child (2008)? It still holds up as an iconic uber-camp teen movie with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. Poppy, played by Emma Roberts, the admirably bratty teen from Malibu (who couldn’t get more Leo) is shipped out to boarding school in England when her partying pushes her dad too far. Mud, pink, Gucci, boys, lacrosse – expect it all.

A thoughtful horror is ideal for a movie night pick for Virgo. The perfect sleuth, hardworking, reliable, patient, and most importantly logical Virgo doesn’t scare easily and will enjoy a spooky flick clouded in mystery. Jordan Peele’s Us (2019) is just the creative psychological horror that will challenge them. Gabe (Winston Duke) and Adelaide (Lupita Nyong’o) Wilson take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends but as night draws near chaos descends when their murderous doppelgängers arrive demanding retribution.

Represented by the scales, Libra has a strong sense of justice. A politically engaged film will interest this thoughtful diplomatically minded sign. Two Distant Strangers (2020) is a short film starring rapper Joey Bada$$ that will give Libra plenty to chew on. Carter, played by Bada$$, just wants to get home to his dog after sleeping over at the house of his date. However, he mysteriously ends up in a time loop with a cop that has it out for him. This film examines the deaths of Black Americans during encounters with police and is an important one that everyone should watch.

A complex sign Scorpios are passionate yet persistent, loyal but strategic, and will enjoy a film with a complex main character like themselves. Miss Congeniality (2000) is a silly makeover chick flick that will lighten the heart of the toughest Scorpio. Gracie Hart, a tomboyish tough detective, is forced to infiltrate the Miss United States beauty pageant as a contestant after her department learns that the event is under threat from an anonymous bomber. It’s the classic trope – Sandra Bullock takes her hair down, puts some makeup and a dress on, and suddenly what do you know she’s pretty. You’ll be hooked throughout this action-comedy film with a hint of romance.

Freedom-adoring and laughter-loving Sagittarius needs an off-the-wall film that will fill their quota for adventure. Charlie’s Angels (2000) is that film. Featuring plenty of eye candy with Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, and Drew Barrymore all starring in this kitschy and charming spy classic. Sagittarius will be thrilled by the great dialogue, array of stunning costumes and beauty moments, fabulous action sequences, and the dash of romance. We came for the fits and the stars and stayed to watch Lucy Liu kick Crispin Glover’s scrawny ass.

Overachieving Capricorns with their persistent spirit yet sensitive nature will definitely see themselves in Elle Woods. Legally Blonde (2001) is now considered a modern classic in the rom-com genre. When Elle gets dumped for a more serious girl she proves to her ex, the world, and herself how smart she is by joining Harvard Law School. This fiercely feminist film fights back against the idea being feminine and smart are mutually exclusive showing that you can rock a pink dress in court.

Matching to the beat of their own drum, the original and creative Aquarius require a film that will keep them on their toes. A great pick for an Aquarius movie night is Showgirls (1995): a fast-paced pulp noir about the dangerous rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle of showgirls in Las Vegas. Full of controversy of the amount of nudity in the film it bombed at the box office but has since gained cult status – it’s perfect for the boundary-pushing Aquarius.

Light-hearted playful films will appeal to Pisces who are empathetic, romantic, intuitive, and mostly importantly dreamers. Sasha has always wondered whether Marcus is the one – could it be a case of right person wrong time or will their lack of honesty with each other drive another wedge between them?
