The London-based artist is back with a new track, one that defies artistic monotony of all sorts and introduces us to an almost other-worldly music style.
“Mind Maze” is the title of the third single released by the visual artist, singer and songwriter.
It is more than a new single for the KESH, it is a cathartic sonic instalment that explores not only various genres and sounds, but feeling as well. As explained by the artist herself, it is a song all about feelings and releasing yourself from the ones that hold you down.
“Mind Maze is a song about getting in your own way. Knowing you have so much to give. So much to live for and contribute to things bigger than yourself. Yet being consistently drained by emotions and trapped in the narratives of past traumas. Stuck in the never-ending cycles of negative thought patterns. Sinking deeper and deeper. Lost within the mind maze.”
It may seem like a heavy-hitting song but, to us, it represents a path of self-analysis with a good and sometimes chaotic rhythm. The lyrics of “Mind Maze” perfectly capture the contrast between KESH’s worries and hopes, which are then intensified with new sounds such as distorted vocals and shattered beats… An unconventional mix nonetheless, but one that matches the daring approach we have at VOIR. Her work challenges the outdated understanding of single genres and explores the multifaceted landscape of current music, bringing everything together to create something new, a musical “maze”, true to KESH’s style.
