Organic clothing, recycled fabrics and biodegradable ones now appear on catwalks, among eco-friendly collections. Green is undoubtedly the new black!

Blue Jeans Turn GreenBritish fashion designer Stella McCartney introduced biodegradable stretch denim soon on sale this very spring, created in collaboration with Milano-based enterprise Candiani. The fabric? A sustainable textile made from plant-based yarns, free from plastics. A denim revolution! In spring 2019, brand Tommy Hilfiger already innovated in the blue fabric universe, launching a range of jeans made of 100% recycled cotton. The production process of this denim is then using less water and less energy. And the American brand continues its sustainable innovations, now selling environment-friendly sneakers partly made from recycled apple fibre!

Pineapple Leather and Grape FabricFrench fashion house Claudie Pierlot collaborated with Parisian brand Andrea Crews to create an eco-friendly capsule collection for spring and summer 2020. Among six sustainable streetwear items, a futuristic bumbag. Its aspect is metallic, its leather exotic! This innovative material is actually composed of pineapple leaves, agricultural waste that would have been burnt otherwise. An alternative to the use of animal skins.

H&M has also launched a Conscious Exclusive collection for this current spring and summer. Inspired by the Golden Age of rail journeys and its elegant Train Bleu, a sleeper train which used to run from Calais in the north of France to the French Riviera during the twenties, its formula rhymes with cocktail dresses, glamorous one-shoulder top and retro swimsuits, but also Circulose®, Econyl®, RenuTM, and VegeaTM. Understand, a material produced from recycled textiles, regenerated nylon notably made from fishing nets, recycled polyester and finally vegan leather made from grape skins and stalks. An interesting mix of 1920s inspirations and modern fabrics!

The lookbook for the upcoming H&M | Moschino collaboration has been released and it’s everything we hoped for!

For the past few months, fans have been begging for a peek behind the curtain of H&M and Jeremy Scott’s design laboratory, wondering about what colours, characters, and prices the collection would sport. Well, they’ve finally drawn the curtain back and revealed their brilliant creations for all the world to see.

The collection is bouncing off the walls with energetic colours and fun characters like a glamourised Minnie Mouse and streetwise Donald Duck. There is no shortage of sequins and gold chains in womenswear, menswear, and even petwear! That’s right, there’s even something for your precious pooch to sport to the dog park.

Scott stated “Like all my collections, it’s humour meets haute couture meets the street. That’s been a hallmark of my work for MOSCHINO, and I want to continue to explore that with this collection.”

What really sells the whole lookbook, styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele and photographed by Marcus Mam, is the amazing energy the models are giving off. Dilone, Aquaria, Barbie Ferreira, Ami and Aya, and Teddy Quinlivan are captured having the best time being themselves. We even get some voguing from the stunning Mj Rodriguez from POSE (go watch it, it’s THE BEST).

Prices will range from £30 to £300 so there’s no need to save for months for a jacket, just make sure you’re lined up on release day November 8th!

To spread the love, a percentage of proceeds from the collection will benefit the United Nations Free & Equal, the U.N.’s official campaign against the criminalization of LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.

With the global reach H&M have and the current political climate, it is vital that bigger brands make an effort to show support and put the joy back into fashion. The brand will be collaborating with Out magazine on a special campaign, titled “Pride OUT Loud,” to kick off the collection’s launch. It features LGBTQ+ figures like Olympian Gus Kenworthy, singer Kim Petras, and artist-activist Gabrielle Richardson.

“H&M believes in everybody’s right to love who they want,” H&M’s head of menswear design, Andreas Lowenstam, said in a statement. “We hope people can use H&M’s Pride collection to celebrate their belief in equal love.”

And the collection does exactly that with brightly coloured tees, sequined shorts, and slogan sweatshirts, all priced under $50 to be inclusive for all. Promotion for the collection will be found on the H&M and Out web sites where a series of videos that Out has produced will speak to each influencers’ experience as members of the LGBTQ+ community.

H&M debuted the collection at an event in Brooklyn on Tuesday night where guests walked under a rainbow arch into a room lit up in a pastel rainbow spectrum. There were Pride themed drinks and food and a performance by Aja.

The celebration collection drops on May 31st online and in select stores.

The giant of retail is set to collaborate with the giant of high fashion, bringing the playful designs of Moschino to the masses through H&M. Jeremy Scott shared the news with Gigi Hadid at the Coachella party last Saturday. His intention behind the collaboration is to connect with more people through fashion and reach more of his fans through the accessibility of H&M.

Scott’s collaboration with Adidas ended in 2017, meaning this new partnership will offer fans a chance to snap up his collections again at a more convenient price point, ranging from approximately £25 to £300.

The collection includes womenswear, menswear and accessories with some extra surprises too. Scott told Vogue “there’s a silver sequinned parka dress,” so needless to say the fun aspect of Moschino will not be compromised by the high street. Reworked denim, drastic crops and athletic evening wear are all rumoured to be making an appearance in the collection, showcasing how humour meets haute couture meets the street.

He said “everything H&M does, it just aligns with me. I am ‘the people’s designer’, after all. That’s a title that’s been bestowed on me; I think because I believe in the democratisation of fashion, and I’ve found many different ways to reach people.”

The campaign encaptures an innovative TV concept merging social and traditional media to create a multi-platform takeover. Scott believes fashion is about communication, It’s how we present ourselves to the world, so social media is another outlet to present our own style and connect fashion brands on a more personal level.

We can’t wait to see how far Moschino will push the boundaries in the world of fast fashion. The H&M x Moschino collection will be available online and in-store from November 8th.

“I loved the idea of this kind of informality and formality meeting.” Says Erdem Moralioglu on his new collection, in collaboration with H&M. Featuring the designer’s feminine womenswear, an accessories line, and a menswear collection, this collaboration is providing excitement in fashion.

Known for its ultra-feminine and floral filled womenswear, expect romantic lace, jacquard, frills, and of course Erdem’s signature floral dresses, when this collection officially drops on November 2nd. Inspiration behind the collection was personal to Erdem, with memories of his youth, the television and music, and his family members, all influencing the designs.

With an aim of creating a wardrobe that the wearer can put together and take apart, Erdem has created pieces that can also look timeless, something that fascinates the designer. As part of the collection, Erdem designed his first ever menswear line, with some of his garments passing between genders, in particular the Harris Tweed suit.

H&M’s creative advisor, Ann-Sofie Johansson, described Erdem as “a poetic addition” to the line-up of designers that the brand has already collaborated with, something that is clear to see in this collection.
