We tend to focus quite a lot on our eyes when doing makeup. With colourful eyeshadows, bold liners and dramatic mascaras at our disposal, it’s hard not to get lost in the array of products.
But now, it’s time for eye makeup to take a backseat, because holographic lip gloss is all the rage. NYX Cosmetics shared a TikTok featuring @makeupwithivan doing the most incredible holographic lip look.
The look garnered a lot of attention and, from there it took off and became a whole new trend. Using an iridescent lip gloss, liquid shadow or highlighter, you can create a luminous ethereal pout, fit for a festival or a glamorous night out.
@brianperera showed us a switch test of R.E.M Beauty’s On Your Collar Lip Gloss in the shade Chuckie Iridescent Lavender. The beautiful lavender colour made her lips pop and really brought the look to life.
Pat McGrath Labs’ lip gloss in the shade Aliengelic has taken the internet by storm. The iridescent shimmer and crystal-like colour creates an exquisite shine. @carsynnlovee tried out this gorgeous product in a video posted to TikTok.
@worldofcolourx swatched Wonderskin’s holographic lip topper. Containing little flakes of shimmer, this gives your lips an eye-catching glint.
@_ariannacappello tried out Pixi Beauty’s collab with Chloe Morello. She swatched the Lip Icing in the shade in Sorbet in a TikTok. The sparkly formula gave her lips a nourished sparkle,
@racheldoessbeauty gushed over Sleek MakeUP’s Transforming Lip Topper which gave her an unexpected gold and silver shine. The hydrating formula looks incredible on everyone and lasts your all through the day.
With all of these options, there’s bound to be one that you fancy. Having a holographic lip gloss can be all you need to spice up your makeup collection. It doesn’t have to be bold or obnoxious, it can also just add a subtle ethereal glow to your pout.
