In a video shared on SKKN’s Instagram page, Kim Kardashian discussed the inspiration behind her latest brand, detailing everything from packaging, to self-confidence, facials, and what it is that, to her, truly constitutes beauty. Characterising healthy skin as integral, Kim Kardashian went on to enforce her prevailing desire to create a solution based brand that provides all of the necessities you need for glowing skin – placing nine key products at SKKN’s forefront.
For Kim, doing her bit when it came to the health of our environment was vital. But whilst each product arrives packaged in recyclable materials, online critics have labelled her statement that each bottle is refillable as ‘greenwashing’. In a TikTok video shared online by Megan McSherry, the creator behind @acteevism, it was revealed that the brand is simply using reusable cases for its product, rather than being fully re-usable. Although undoubtedly misleading, by reducing single-use plastics and the abundance of plastic waste that ends up situated in landfill, it’s clear that SKKN has begun to take steps in the right direction with regards to sustainability. After all, there’s no one quite like Kim K when it comes to bouncing back from criticism.

After struggling with psoriasis, Kim embarked on a mission to discover how to care for her skin, using her diagnosis as her catalyst to success. In need of hydration? Look no further. The hyaluronic acid serum was developed to serve as a daily water shot for your skin, locking in 72 hours of moisture. When partnered with the vitamin C8 serum, these products will boost collagen synthesis and minimise signs of ageing, achieving a radiance that isn’t just revitalised, but hydrated too. What’s more, you can top it all off with an eye cream that tackles puffiness and fine lines via a carefully developed peptide complex.

Like anything in life, Kim Kardashian’s road to success hasn’t been smooth sailing – encountering a law suit filed by Black-Brooklyn-owned Beauty Concepts shortly after launch. Labelled a “shakedown effort” by Kim’s lawyer, there’s no doubt that the pair are hoping to smooth things over.
Daily Rituals
In a video uploaded to Instagram, Kim took her followers through the step by step ritual she uses in both the mornings and evenings, comprising all nine products taken directly from her collection. Starting with a few pumps of her cleanser (mixed with a bit of water to make a creamy foam), she then advises her viewers to exfoliate twice a week, with a generous scoop forming step two of her detailed routine. A few splashes of toner are then gently swiped across her face, followed by a couple of pumps of each respective serum (vitamin C8 at nighttime,) some eye cream applied via her ring finger, and finally, a selection of either face cream and oil drops, or solely, the night cream.
