A collaboration we all have been waiting for has finally been confirmed. After Gucci’s expansion into kitchenware and their collab with North Face and Adidas, they have teamed up with Harry Styles in honour of his and Gucci’s Creative Creators’ friendship. The 25-piece collection was revealed in Milan yesterday, featuring jackets, coats, trousers, shirts and accessories in seventies style and vintage silhouettes.
HA HA HA is the name of their collection – named after the expression “hahaha” that Styles and Michele use to end their What’s App conversations, but also the initials of “Harry” and “Alessandro”. “Born from a creative relationship that self-generates from amusement and ends with the tangibility of a product”, the collection symbolises their creative exchange and shared perspective on fashion.
Creative Director Alessandro Michele writes, “The idea of working together came to me one day while we were talking on the phone: I proposed creating a ‘dream wardrobe’ with him, starting from those small oddities that come together in childlike visions. We ended up with a mix of aesthetics from 1970s pop and bohemian to the revision of the image of the gentleman in an overturned memory of men’s tailoring.”
Harry Styles lives up to his surname. Without doubt the 28-year-old singer is one of the biggest fashion icons of our generation. His basic outfits with the extra touch and fun are unconventional and gender bending.
So this collaboration comes with no surprise, as Styles and Alessandro Michele have a long-term friendship. They met when the singer had just left One Direction to start his solo career, and Michele had taken over Gucci. Since then, they “grew together”. Harry Styles appeared in campaigns and has worn Gucci on the red carpet to photo shoots and concerts for years.
The collection will be in stores in October. Knowing Harry Styles Fans, but also fashion enthusiast, the capsule wardrobe will sell out quickly. To celebrate this collab, we gathered our favourite Gucci looks worn by Harry Styles.
