Best-Dressed List: Critic’s Choice Awards

On the 15th of January, 2024 with the commencement of Hollywood’s awards season, the Critic’s Choice Awards were held in sunny Santa Monica. The winners of the night include Elizabeth Debicki for The Crown, Emma Stone for Poor Things and Sarah Snook for Succession. A glance at the red carpet, and many could sense a theme of red and black which overpowered with star-power like Margot Robbie, Dua Lipa and Charles Melton engaging in an accidental theme. However, it was also a night full of incredible fashion from movie stars, television stars and musicians alike, kicking off the fashion for the year in the right direction. It was a great moment for style and here are our picks for the best-dressed attendees.

Dua Lipa


The singer-songwriter dazzled in this gorgeous ruffled, cherry red gown by Prada. Lipa was accessorized by Tiffany&Co. and styled by Lorenzo Posocco. Dua opted to let the gown shine with minimal jewellery apart from the gorgeous and ornamental studs by Tiffany. The silhouette was a dream and the colour and hair were her moment.

Greta Lee


The actress best known for her role in Past lives wore a Jonathan Anderson, Loewe look that was simple, cool and elegant. The co-ord set comprising of a high-neck polo and loose pants embellished with black sequins and minimal jewellery was a breath of fresh air amidst the quintessential Hollywood glam. Lee paired the look with black pumps, slicked back hair and minimal makeup closing out the look. 

Ayo Edebiri


The American actress and television writer best known for her role in The Bear was dressed in The Row. The actress posted on Instagram giving us all look at her inspiration for the look, Whoopi Goldberg. She channels Goldberg’s effortless, androgynous, 90s style with a masculine cut, baggy, white suit and minimal make-up. Edebiri completes the look with black pumps and sunglasses.

Camila Morrone


Actress and model Camila Morrone was style by Sandra Amador and was dressed in Chanel. She wore a beautiful white ensemble with ruffles at the waistline, a black bow at the neckline and tassel detailing at the edges. Morrone complete her look with soft, wavy hair and nude glam for makeup.

Margot Robbie


Actress and producer, Margot Robbie stunned in this red Balmain creation. The red, leather, off-should dress with roses across the neckline was styled by Andrew Mukamal. She completed her look with slick backed low-bun and statement earrings.

Rosamund Pike


British Actress, Rosamund Pike was an absolute vision in this aquamarine, sequined, halter-neck Rodarte creation. Her dress was further embellished by blue, sequin rose at the waist. She was styled by Leith Clark and opted to have minimal, nude glam and a low bun with statement drops.

Emma Stone


Actress and winner for the night, Emma Stone wore this gorgeous one-shoulder, black gown with scalloped detailing along the neckline. Stone was styled by Petra Flannery and paired the gown with a diamond necklace and matching earrings. For glam, Stone opted for a vibrant red lip and bun.

Elizabeth Debicki


The Crown actress won ‘Best Supporting Actress’ in this Oscar de la Renta creation. Debicki wore a crystal embellished top with bow-tied waistline jumpsuit. Debicki chose to style the look with loose curls, a smokey eye and very minimal accessories.

Danielle Brooks


American actress, Danielle Brooks best known for her role in Orange is the New Black wore this baby-pink, ruffled gown with the bow detail on the neck by Monsoori. She was styled by Jennifer Austin and completed her look with a 1960’d inspired, curled bob and classic, bronzed Hollywood glam.

Ashley Madekwe


The British actress was styled by Jen Woodward and wore this incredible off shoulder moment. The quilted argyle pattern with the embellished buttons that line along the mini with the pink “tinsel” border was such a pop of colour. Madekwe paired the look with soft make-up, diamond studs to match the buttons and a low bun.
