Don’t Look Up

It’s not often that a Netflix original film gathers an A-list cast featuring names such as Leonardo Di Caprio and Meryl Streep, but 2021 has shown us the sky’s the limit. ‘Don’t Look Up’ follows two astronomers (Leonardo Di Caprio and Jennifer Lawrence) as they try to warn humankind of a planet-killing comet bounding towards the earth. Met with a dull response from the world’s elite, the astronomers take matters into their own hands.

Little Women

If you’re looking for a film slightly more comforting, look at Little Women. This is a film full of emotion and deeper meanings, following the lives of the March sisters and detailing the ups and downs faced as they enter womanhood. This beautiful story is brought to life by a credible cast; Florence Pugh, Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson and Timothee Chalamet. 

The Unforgivable 

This film sees Sandra Bullock play Ruth Slater, a woman who has recently been released from prison. She walks a path of redemption, as she attempts to re-enter society and put her life back together, whilst searching for the sister she was forced to leave behind. However, things don’t go so simple, and Ruth must endeavour the harsh reality of society, as she cannot escape her past. 

Selling Sunset

Sometimes, a series can be more inviting if you’d prefer to enjoy something in segments. Selling Sunset is the latest reality TV show that has got the internet talking, as we dream about the impeccable houses being sold on the Hollywood Hills. The show follows successful (and super glamorous) realtors based in LA as they compete to win over clients and deals. With Season 4 debuting last month, you will have plenty to catch up on if you choose to watch this sassy series. 

Emily In Paris

With Season 2 dropping earlier this week, we had to include our favourite girly series ‘Emily In Paris’ in our what to watch list. Full of laughs, love and disasters, this season is bound to win you over as Emily continues to navigate her bustling life in Paris. 

Death To 2021

If you enjoyed last year’s ‘Death To 2020’, then you are bound to enjoy this year’s edition. The program looks back on the troublesome year we have all faced with a satirical point of view. It’s better to laugh than cry!

Euphoria

This series first rocked the world in 2019, as we all got hooked into the drama of season 1. With season 2 on the horizon, we only have the trailer to go off, but we can see the show is going to be as scandalous as ever. The trailer teases drug dealings, tough arguments and new romances which we can’t wait to see unfold. Season 2 will be available to stream from January 9th, so now is the time to get up to speed with all that happened in season 1!

And Just Like That… A New Chapter Of Sex And The City

If you loved Sex And The City back in the day, you need to watch this sequel to the much-loved series. Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis return as Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte, with the trio making their way through life in their 50s. You can watch the comedy-drama on Now TV.

]]> Yes, you heard right … Euphoria returns for season 2!

The much-loved teen drama will finally be returning to our screens in January 2022 after a delay in production due to the pandemic. Sharing the teaser clip on her Instagram account, Emmy Award winning actress, Zendaya, simply captioned the post “EUPHORIA SEASON 2. JANUARY 9.”, need she say more?

In the last season of the long-awaited hit show we were treated to an array of deep friendships, emotional personal journeys and toxic relationships, whilst we got to know a group of high school students who were exploring themes of love, drugs, identity and other complex issues, in the most raw and real of ways. The trailer for season 2 teases the same wild parties, intense violence and desirable fashion that we were treated to in season 1, but on a much larger scale. How lucky are we!

For the upcoming season, we reunite with familiar faces in the form of Hunter Schafer and Sydney Sweenie’s characters, Jules and Cassie, as well as being introduced to newbie, Dominic Fike, who joins the star-studded cast to tell the difficult stories of teen-hood that we love and know so well.

Alongside its spot-on casting and stellar performances, Euphoria has been praised for its on the mark costume choices which helped to portray each character and tell the story so well, while inspiring hundreds of the Gen Z style crew who instantly wanted to go and recreate the looks they had seen on screen for themselves. Best known for her casual and slouchy ‘fits, Zendaya’s character, Rue, undoubtedly influenced the effortless street style of the style stars we see today. Likewise, the character of Maddy, played by Alexa Demie, perfectly mastered the Y2K look that has been adopted by many as of late, through baby pink tracksuits and tight cut-out two pieces, the nostalgic style was truly bought back to life. In one of the episodes Demie was even spotted wearing the iconic purple Lucid set by cult-favourite label, I.AM.GIA, which saw sales skyrocket, naturally.

As the star of the show that she is, we are going to take a look back at some of Rue’s best style moments from season 1 of Euphoria and show you how you can get the look too.

This classic look from Rue is relaxed and easygoing and showcases the oversized red hoodie that we so often see her wearing in the show. Styled with a baggy slogan tee, this outfit epitomises the style of Rue and it couldn’t be easier to work it into your own wardrobe.

In another truly rue oversized ‘fit, here we see the character in her everyday jeans and converse with a large duster style coat thrown over the top. Slouchy coats are so in right now and they can really give a casual look a bit of an upgrade.

While Rue may shy away from the somewhat revealing clothes that the rest of her cast mates are often found wearing, she certainly doesn’t shy away from patterns. This floral shirt and stripe tube top combo are just one example of the printed pieces the character likes to play around with. Adding patterns into your look is a great way to add a bit of character to something simple.

You’d be hard pressed to find a clip of Rue without her trusty hightop converse on that are a staple piece in so many of her looks. The classic shoe makes a versatile and trendy addition to any outfit. Pair with your choice of trousers and of course a cosy knit to complete your Rue inspired ‘fit for winter.

In a rare party piece from Rue, the character tunes in with her androgynous style, opting for a trendy two-piece suit. The purple look is the perfect party update on Rue’s regular go-to jeans and a tee.

]]> Earlier this year, a photo of Lily James striding on the beach in a red Baywatch swimsuit broke the internet. It was mind-blowing seeing how much she resembled the real Pamela Anderson, and it left us all anticipating what was to come. The first trailer for Pam & Tommy has now dropped, and we couldn’t wait to dive in. 

It may seem random to make a series about this pairing, but Pamela Anderson was one of the biggest stars of the 90s, having an iconic role in Baywatch and being a Playboy model. Tommy Lee is a musician, widely known for being a drummer in the Rock band Mötley Crüe. Together, they are renowned as being one of the most well known 90s couples, having infamously tied the knot after knowing each other for only 96 hours.

Pam & Tommy will be delivered as an eight-part series, starring Sebastian Stan and Lily James as the couple. The show will tell be set in 1995, following the scandalous story of the pair’s infamous sex tape that was stolen and released to the public. 

The tape was originally stolen by Rand Gauthier, who had installed a security system in Tommy’s house before the robbery. Playing the role of Rand is Seth Rogan, with Nick Offerman starring as his accomplice to the distribution of the tape. 

One of the most exciting parts of this season is seeing the cast completely transform into their characters, almost making them unrecognisable. From fake tattoos, prosthetics, piercings, hair pieces and 90s fashion, this cast have immersed themselves in making sure their appearance is as close to the real thing as possible. We can’t wait to see the series in full!

Hulu have announced that the release date for Pam & Tommy is February 2nd 2022, available to stream exclusively on Hulu via Disney+.

]]> And Just Like That, our prayers have been answered. Almost twenty years have passed since we said goodbye to the girls in season 6. Since then, there have been two feature-length films and a canceled prequel titled The Carrie Diaries on The CW, both of which failed to meet the fashion mark left behind by Sex and The City. This sequel series could be what fans have needed, the Miranda to their Carrie, the Charlotte to their Samantha. And Despite Kim Cattrall not taking part in the new series, the anticipation to see the SATC crew on screens again is clear to see.

The time has come to hit the cultural reset button and be transported back to the early 2000s, where flower corsages and oversized children’s clothes reigned supreme. The show originally ran from 1998 to 2002, with the show’s dramatic finale leaving us with the iconic Carrie voiceover “The most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself.” The show hit on subjects that almost every young adult faces in their daily lives, from the logistics of casual sex and one-night stands to dealing with relationship issues and professional career problems, the show brought a new lighthearted aesthetic to city life while still tackling subjects from a different perspective.

Throughout the series and the subsequent films, there have been an array of groundbreaking fashion looks, from the idolized purple Fendi “baguette” handbag to block colour tailored suits. It all came down to the vision Costume designer Patricia Field had for the cast of SACT, wanting to mix and play with luxury vs. fast fashion, Patricia wanted to reflect the varied array of fashions and styles that walk down the streets of New York every day. As Field describes the impact Sex and The City had on street fashion, “like sitting at the bottom of an atom bomb.” Sex And The City’s large cult-like following and huge cultural impact on consumerism and the fashion industry as a whole, looks are still immortalized with Instagrams such as Carrie Dragshaw (created by brand and innovation consultant Dan Clay) celebrate and appreciate the ridiculousness of 2000s fashion.

And while some of Carrie’s less than appealing attempts at fashion are still burnt into our brains like some infamous y2k fashion draught, we still have And Just Like That’s costumer designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago stepping in to not only appreciate the looks that made the show iconic in the first place, but to also bring new life and modernize the series. “But who needs a Sex and The City reboot?” You may be asking yourself. Well, given the buzz and hype around the cast and crew being spotted around New York filming, it seems that not only does the New York fashion scene need a revival, but the fashion world also needs another cultural reset. Will this be another fashion atom bomb in the making or will we see more of the same?

We’ve been wondering when this series would be back, or if it ever would be, but now we finally know…

Friends, the legendary tv show will be returning to the screen exactly 17 years after saying goodbye – when their last episode aired, May 6 of 2004, breaking the record of a most-watched episode of the decade. Who knows, maybe the return will be just as legendary… all we know is that we’re counting the days to it.

While we await the release date, which will hopefully pass faster than we expect, here’s everything you need to know about the Friends reunion.

When will the reunion air?

The Friends reunion special will air on HBO Max on May 27.

The highly-anticipated reunion episode started filming in March and was finally completed by April 11th. It had to be postponed due to pandemic and lockdown, but now we finally have a date… even if we’ve been talking about it since 2019.

The official Friends Instagram page announced the exciting news through a post. Although this came after a few images had already been leaked online, revealing a few of the cast members in front of the iconic show’s fountain.

So who will be in it?

It has been confirmed that the original cast, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer will be returning and playing themselves (not their fictional characters).

Special guests will also be part of this reunion, ones we can’t help but obsess over like David

Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Tom Selleck, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai.

Who will produce it?

The reunion will be executive produced by Friends creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane, together with the original Friends producer, Kevin Bright. So we can expect it to be good, and hopefully representative of the Friends we know.

What will it be about?

The reunion, as suggested by the name, will not encompass a new story but simply reminisce on the old one. It will be an episode in which the cast takes us into the behind-the-scenes of Friends, on what it used to be and how it became what it is nowadays.

It’ll be an opportunity for its fans to know about the insights of their favourite show told by their favourite actors.

As explained by HBO Max, “Lastly, in order to avoid any misunderstanding about what this special is, we want to make it very clear that this is not a new, original episode of the series. The cast will be appearing as themselves, not as their beloved characters.”

What happens when our favourite assassin is heartbroken and just shot the object of her obsession, Eve Polastri? Find out in the upcoming season of Killing Eve. Killing Eve is a BBC tv series centred around the story of Villanelle, an assassin for hire with a taste for murder and a greater taste for fashion and luxury clothing with an obsession with a British intelligence agent Eve Polastri. The show is set to return to TV on April 13th and if you haven’t seen it yet here are five things you should know.

The women we love to hate

The roles of Eve and Villanelle played by Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer present a stunning performance of extreme personalities. Villanelle representing women who taking what you want when you want and Eve a subdued woman whose potential is first unseen, trapped behind a desk and has to live by all the rules.

The relationship in this series is nothing short of dysfunctional. From the difference in career of assassin and British intelligence agent to the fact that Villanelle is not capable of having emotions as she is a psychopath. Even will all this hurdles the series manages to create a will they, won’t they situation between their cat and mouse game.

Murder has never looked this fashionable

Another thing we can’t get enough of from the Killing Eve tv series is the killer fashion Moments. Villanelle has shown she has a taste of the finer things in life. Her iconic fashion looks as she murders and poisons her targets, being bad has never looked so good. This season Villanelle is set to deliver iconic looks from iconic fashion brands like Simone Rocha and iconic themed looks of a clown and Elton John rocket man.

Don’t be so dramatic

Although the storyline and drama of the show are second to none it is also filled with a lot of comedy with one-liner jokes from villanelle as she addresses all with her blunt personality sating what she wants to say, when she wants to say it. The series is also filled with hilarious situations between Villanelle and her handler.

Break up by gunshot

This is where we left off. After a season of they most likely will in the will, they won’t they situation. Season 2 ends with Eve Polastri walking away from villanelle and as she walks away, she is shot in the back. We look forward to seeing how our favourite assassin and agent duo navigates heartbreak and separation. With the trailer stating obsession never dies, I guess there is no moving on from this.
