In another video, she tried out four of the shades, and every single one looked amazing on her. Due to the type of product it is, it looks incredible on all skin tones. Rare beauty showed just how diverse this range is in a TikTok, showing a multitude of different people trying on the lip oil – and every single one of them looked stunning. The shades were carefully and beautifully selected to not only fit everyone but to match the rest of her range. (Side note: we love how the packaging almost matched the Soft Pinch Blushes!) 

The whole internet completely freaked out at this surprise launch and once the reviews started coming out, the people went crazier – even as crazy as waking up at 7 AM to rush to Sephora for the brand-new lip oils.

Or even rushing around to three different Sephoras and managing to buy the very last one left, just like Brook Tiffany here. When trying out the shade Honesty, she softly applied a couple of swipes, resulting in a peachy pink pout.

Many other influencers also shared their thoughts on the lip oils, and one by one, they all fell in love with these little bottles of joy. Sean Anthony swatched the product for us in a TikTok video. He generously applied the shade Wonder – which looked absolutely gorgeous on him – before wiping off the oil, leaving him with a subtly tinted lip. After reviewing the formula, he then tried the product out on his cheeks and blended it out like a blush, resulting in a glowy, warm look.

@kaushal also tried out the range. The different cool-toned and warm-toned shades – although only subtly different – can completely transform a look. The brighter shades, such as Joy, Serenity and Happy (Side note: we love these shade names) gave @kaushal a beautiful beaming glow, whereas the more neutral or cool-toned shades like Honesty, Delight and Affection resulted in a more sophisticated, classy look.

Selena Gomez launched Rare Beauty in September 2020, and it definitely changed the beauty world for the better. The brand gained so much attention simply for its ethos, consistently advocating for mental health awareness and creating a sense of community around the products.

We highly doubt that anyone in the makeup world hasn’t heard of the Soft Pinch Blush. This product went absolutely viral on social media. The luscious shades and blendable formula caught the hearts of so many beauty gurus. Another product that would layer perfectly above the blush would be the Positive Light Liquid Luminizer white is available in 8 different shades. The liquid formula is easily buildable, so whether you’re going for a subtle glow or a blinding shine, this product can do the job.

Gomez herself showed how she used the Liquid Luminizer in a TikTok posted by Rare Beauty. The shimmery formula gave her skin an ethereal, but still, natural, glow.

Jeffree Star rose to fame through MySpace and YouTube, posting videos of his magnificent makeup looks, and, when he decided to launch his own brand in November 2014, we were all for it. The initial launch consisted of only three Velour liquid lipsticks and since then has turned into an enormous collection of stunning high-end products. The Velour liquid lipstick range currently has 84 shades ranging from the brightest of pinks to the deepest of blues.

Aside from the lipsticks, the product that stands out from Starr’s line the most is the Blood Lust eyeshadow palette. This 18-shade palette consisted of a beautiful selection of colours that blend together seamlessly. The pigmented formula and gorgeous shades were enough to have us completely obsessed with this product the moment we laid our eyes on it.

This list wouldn’t be complete without the mention of Fenty Beauty. The Pro Filt’r Foundation hit the shelves in 2017, boating 40 shades (which since then has increased to 59 shades!), which promoted inclusivity in the beauty scene. Rihanna herself has garnered a large following from her music alone, making it easy to promote her makeup line, as her fans were practically throwing themselves at the new products when they launched almost six years ago.

The initial launch included a staggering amount of products – which is quite a bold choice for a new makeup brand – but Rihanna and her team at Fenty pulled it off. The top-rated products obviously include the Pro Filt’r Foundation, due to its light, breathable formula and airbrushed finish. But another product that snuck its way to the top was the Match Stix range. These little sticks can be used as contour sticks, concealers, colour correctors and even highlighters. From the diverse shade range to the creamy formula, these little guys are a must-have for anyone dreaming of that perfectly snatched look.

Rather than taking the usual route, Halsey decided to go for a more editorial vibe with her launch. This comes as no surprise, looking at all of the singer’s past iconic makeup looks on red carpets. The line is slightly more limited than the previous brands, however, Halsey did not compromise quality. Although the products don’t exactly have drugstore price tags, they’re still relatively affordable compared to most competitors – making them a fine choice for any drugstore makeup lovers looking to dip their feet into the luxury makeup pool.

The star product of the range is without a doubt the Matte Fluid Eye Paint. It’s available in 26 shades making it the perfect product for anyone who loves a bit of a daring and vibrant look. The formula is highly pigmented and blends smoothly, resulting in a bold, colourful look that lasts for hours. Fans of Halsey – as well as beauty gurus in general – fell in love with the gorgeous formula and the versatility of this product. Selena shared via Instagram the new Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara, launching August 30th on Sephora and RareBeauty.com. Here’s our roundup of five of the best celebrity beauty lines and the goddesses behind them.  

Kylie Cosmetics – Kylie Jenner

Perhaps the queen of all beauty moguls, its Kylie Jenner herself. Starting Kylie cosmetics in 2015, the business skyrocketed from a few lip kits into a billion-dollar empire in four short years. A lot has to be said for the breadth and quality of the cosmetic line as, of course, the youngest member of the Kardashian clan wouldn’t put her name on a bog-standard product. Have you tried the face setting spray?! Phenomenal. Kylie also created a line of skincare, called KylieSkin, supplying us all with her beauty secrets for glowing clear skin.

Fenty Beauty – Rihanna

Rihanna single handily shook up the beauty industry with the launch of Fenty Beauty back in 2017. She set the bar on what inclusivity and diversity should look like in the cosmetics world, forcing other fustier giants to step up. There are 50 shades in the foundation line, each catering to all skin tones (no easy feat). She is certainly a woman of many talents and not one to slap her name on a company for some easy cash.

Haus Laboratories – Lady Gaga

Haus Laboratories is the brainchild of Laga Gaga, which dropped in September of 2019. An unsurprising launch (as bold makeup/beauty has been part of her DNA since she appeared on our screens with the 2008 hit ‘Just Dance’) the line helps you to recreate some of her iconic looks. There are several standouts in her line, most notably the Glam Attack Liquid Shadow – a glitter that will stay on all night and come off in a single wipe.

Pattern – Tracee Ellis Ross

Tracee Ellis Ross is the beauty behind Pattern. Growing up, the actor and entrepreneur noticed a lack of women rocking their naturally curly hair, so it took years to learn how to nurture hers properly. Hence the birth of Pattern, a range of styling tools and products catered specifically towards women with the same texture hair.

Rare beauty – Selena Gomez

I think we all had a bit of celebrity beauty brand-induced fatigue when Rare Beauty dropped in 2019, although it did not disappoint. The brand champions self-love and breaking down unrealistic standards of perfection whilst serving us high-quality products. The liquid blush is super pigmented, blendable and long-lasting, making it the chart-topper for this range.
