Selena Gomez has given us yet another must-have product for this spring. Gomez wanted a lip stain that didn’t leave your lips feeling dry, so Rare Beauty created the new Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil – the perfect crossover between a lip stain and a lip oil. This super glossy, super hydrating formula leaves your lips feeling nourished while also giving them a sophisticated shine.
“It’s definitely not like your traditional lip oil,” said Gomez, in a TikTok video. “It feels like jelly but then it transforms into a lightweight oil”. She then swatched one of the shades, and just one swipe gave her lips a beautiful, hydrated glow.
In another video, she tried out four of the shades, and every single one looked amazing on her. Due to the type of product it is, it looks incredible on all skin tones. The subtle colours can suit people with the darkest skin tones to the lightest. But don’t let the sheer pigment fool you, once it’s on, it’s on for the whole day. Even after the oil and glossiness fade away, the tint simply doesn’t budge.
Rare beauty showed just how diverse this range is in a TikTok, showing a multitude of different people trying on the lip oil – and every single one of them looked stunning. The shades were carefully and beautifully selected to not only fit everyone but to match the rest of her range. (Side note: we love how the packaging almost matched the Soft Pinch Blushes!)
The whole internet completely freaked out at this surprise launch and once the reviews started coming out, the people went crazier – even as crazy as waking up at 7 AM to rush to Sephora for the brand-new lip oils.
Or even rushing around to three different Sephoras and managing to buy the very last one left, just like Brook Tiffany here. When trying out the shade Honesty, she softly applied a couple of swipes, resulting in a peachy pink pout.
Many other influencers also shared their thoughts on the lip oils, and one by one, they all fell in love with these little bottles of joy. Sean Anthony swatched the product for us in a TikTok video. He generously applied the shade Wonder – which looked absolutely gorgeous on him – before wiping off the oil, leaving him with a subtly tinted lip. After reviewing the formula, he then tried the product out on his cheeks and blended it out like a blush, resulting in a glowy, warm look.
Char Barker also tried out a few shades of these lip oils. Each shade achieved a totally different look. Due to the versatility of these formulas, you can use them for any look you like – a night-out glam look, a natural no-makeup makeup look or even by themselves.
@kaushal also tried out the range. The different cool-toned and warm-toned shades – although only subtly different – can completely transform a look. The brighter shades, such as Joy, Serenity and Happy (Side note: we love these shade names) gave @kaushal a beautiful beaming glow, whereas the more neutral or cool-toned shades like Honesty, Delight and Affection resulted in a more sophisticated, classy look.
