Everyone who has experienced frizz at least once knows how lousy it is when hairs stand up and fuzzy, irregular curls surround your head. A bad hair day can seriously drag you down, so we gathered a collection of products that will make your hair sleek from conditioner to sleek spray.

The two most significant causes of frizzy hair are humidity and damaged hair. Moisture in the air can enter hair strands and bin the protein inside, making your hair go back to its natural shape. The result is frizz. Damaged and dry hair is more susceptible to frizz as it has a raised cuticle layer, which allows moisture in the air to swell the strands.

Shampoo

If you stopped washing your hair daily, you are already on the way to sleek hair. Sulphates in shampoo helps to remove dirt from your scalp and hair, but they also strip your hair from its natural oils. TikTok is one of the biggest social media apps right now and during quarantine, it’s an amazing source of entertainment. However, it’s not just good for learning dances. TikTok is great for recommending must-have products. Be it skincare, beauty or hair care, it is full of amazing finds. In particular, there is a trend going around listing people’s favourite Amazon beauty must-haves, so here’s Voir’s rundown of some of the most talked-about TikTok products, found on Amazon.

1). Let’s start off with hair. The flat hair clips also help when styling your hair. You can use them to separate sections of your hair or hold back your bangs whilst applying your makeup. The best part? They leave no kinks.

2). So many TikTokers rave about the Revlon blow dry brush saying it is quick and easy to use and leaves your hair looking flawlessly styled. It detangles, dries and volumises all in one process, meaning you have to use less heat and your hair is protected and styled.

3). Scrunchies are so in right now and TikTok is well aware of that. So, many people are recommending Amazon’s wide array of hair scrunchies, claiming they are soft and don’t tangle your hair. And why not try the much talked about scrunchie stand to organise them?

4). When washing your hair, a lot of people are talking about the scalp massager. It is said to give your hair a really deep clean whilst simultaneously massaging you too. Promoting a healthy scalp that’s free of dandruff is a winner in our eyes.

5). Although skincare is very personal, there are some products which seem to be loved by all. The Indian Healing Clay mask is one of these items. Promising to help with acne, it’s great for teenage, breakout-prone skin. Silicone brushes are also highly sought after and make applying any face mask easy and hygienic, since cleaning them is such a breeze.

6). The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is a must for pampering your lips. It might be a nice thing to invest in especially as we start to look forward to seeing our friends and family in the (hopefully) near future! To store these skincare items, a mini-fridge will be useful, and many TikTokers agree. You can find these on Amazon, but also on an array of other websites too. 7). With all these new items, your shelves might be getting a little cluttered, which is why so many people are recommending Amazon’s storage carousel. Not only is it great for organising a messy beauty area, but it also looks classy and makes accessing products extremely easy as all you have to do is spin and grab.

8). Travelling with your products may be tricky too, (when we are finally allowed to!), but don’t worry, because, of course, Amazon has this covered. They sell chic travel makeup bags that have rearrangeable compartments which are handy for any oddly shaped skincare and makeup products.

9). Lastly, why not think of the environment whilst you’re ordering all these fab new products? Amazon carries an amazing range of eco-friendly skincare replacements which are reusable. For example, the reusable cotton pads are a great alternative to keeping stocked up on your usual cotton pads. They usually come with a bag, so that when you’ve used them all up, you can chuck them in the washing machine and use them all over again!

Finally, after all this pampering and self-care, who wouldn’t want to take a snap for the gram and show off your new items and glowing skin. The range of ring lights that are stocked by Amazon and recommended on Tik Tok is endless, but a just purchase. They make taking pictures easy and the quality even better.

An elite group of products so perfected, so timeless and so ingrained in our beauty regimes, there is no other option – not even a hint of contemplation – when we root in our makeup bags for that guaranteed staple. Some even pioneers in their product categories, these are the items we’ve squeezed dry until not one drop is left, cut up when empty for every scrap and repurchased time and time again. Quite frankly, these are the products we pray so heavily never become discontinued because nobody does it like they do. If you’re looking for cult beauty items that have changed the game then look no further.

GLOSSIER BOY BROW

Eyebrows were most definitely the star of the show this decade and could you think of a more apt product to pinpoint a brow revolution? Whilst an honourable mention must be given to Benefit’s Gimmie Brow for pioneering the brow gel bonanza that took the beauty world by storm, Glossier came through with something else. It’s long-lasting, simplistic, holds a great formula and has what I believe to be a decent shade range too. It accentuates each individual hair and despite obviously making you look put together, the mere action of combing through your brows definitely makes you feel better too. Brow self-care at its finest.

YSL TOUCHE ECLAT

In 2015, The Telegraph stated that one of these ‘golden pens’ was sold every 10 seconds. Amazing. Coined to be much more than just a concealer pen which of course are much more common now than they perhaps were when this product made its breakthrough, it is an illuminating yet covering pen. A firm favourite of makeup-artists and people keen for a quick-fix, innovative utensil and product in one, that can transform dullness and dark circles. Long live this iconic product and its multiple shades.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY PILLOW TALK LIPSTICK

A nude to end all nudes. Forget everything else you know and stop clutching your MAC Velvet Teddy so hard, there’s a new girl in town. Don’t believe me? Try for yourself and be amazed.

CHANEL SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL

Okay so first thing’s first, it’s not cheap. Priced at £40, this cream-gel bronzer, not to be mistaken with contour, is the epitome of luxury. I believe this item finds itself somewhere between the likes of a KKW contour stick and a Benefit Hoola bronzer. It’s like powder meets liquid and forms an easy-to-apply balm that is buildable, soft and moisturising. Best applied with a brush or sponge, I find Soleil de Tan gives the skin a warm, peachy sun-kissed glow that genuinely looks believable. It’s not going to give you contoured realness, nor is it going to give you heaps of colour on first application, but with buildable control, it can be incredibly flattering and long-lasting. My only niggle? One shade. That’s it. Brilliant if you have light to medium skin tones but I can only guess it’s not going to show on medium to deep skin. Disappointing, but this product would rock if more shades were to be produced. After all, it’s one of a kind and I am yet to find anything like it. Did I mention it literally lasts forever?

ESTEE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR

Trustier than your mum’s emergency umbrella, this full-coverage foundation will seal away a multitude of sins. Whilst I have always shied away from such thick, no-going-back, high coverage foundations and concealers, this is a brand of foundation that I have heard pop up time and time again from people of all generations. I believe it is great for those with discolouration who seek a long-lasting formula. Not a fan of the flawlessly finessed look? Try Double Wear Light for a more sheer finish.

BEAUTY BLENDER

Although I don’t think the makeup sponge age can exactly be called revolutionary, seeing as makeup artists and drag artists have been using them for years, there is no doubt that the infiltration of the original beauty blender into mainstream makeup is incomparable to another beauty tool I know. Behold, the beauty blender. Perfectly round, spongey and absorbent too. Almost guaranteed to feature in all of your friend’s makeup bags, this is exactly the sort of cult product that we will see for years to come – just look at the sea of dupes out there to prove it.
