]]> It’s time to ditch the canned vodka soda for your next girl’s night out (or in) because Maya Jama partnered with Gordon’s Gin to create ‘Clink with Pink’. Our national TV sweetheart is the new creative force promoting the iconic alcohol brand’s range, mixing her bubbly charisma in Gordon’s already sweet Gin.

As a Love Island presenter, Maya quickly gained fame for wanting to bring people together, so it seems perfect for the theme of her long-term partnership to be just that. In her own words, “Clink With Pink is all about being unapologetically yourself and having the best time with friends.”

When asked about the 28-year-old pop culture icon, the marketing director behind Gordon’s Gin said ‘We have been so inspired by Maya’s positive energy and authenticity that we couldn’t think of a better partner for our Premium Pink collection.”

To kick things off, the brand and Maya have already released two limited edition bottles emblazoned with her signature catchphrases ‘You’re a Limited Edition, My Love’ and ‘Cling Cling, My Honeys’. The partners have promised more limited editions to come, as well as cocktail recipes, a series of events, and one or two surprises. And if you’re wondering where the pink aspect comes from, it’s from the berries and currants that give the UK’s no.1 Gin label a candied and rosy taste.

The bottles dropped exclusively on Amazon yesterday at £17.50, alongside Maya’s first twist on a classic cocktail. Here’s the recipe for her ‘Gordon Pink Paloma’ so that when your order finally arrives, you’ll be ready to mix it up for your friends in no time!

Gordon’s Pink Paloma (Units per drink: 1.9)

Ingredients:

● 50ml Gordon’s Premium Pink Distilled Gin*

● 150ml Pink Grapefruit Soda

● Garnish: Pink Grapefruit Wedge

● Optional garnish: Flaky sea salt rim

● For Maya’s Twist: Mix in 20ml sugar syrup and

10ml lime juice

*Swap for Gordon’s Premium Pink Alcohol Free for a delicious alcohol free option

Preparation:

● Use a wedge of grapefruit to run across the rim of a high ball glass

● Roll the edge of the glass in a plate of salt

● Add both ingredients to the glass filled with ice

● Stir to mix

● Garnish with pink grapefruit

When it’s Steven Meisel photographing the limited studio collection and Zara’s in-house atelier collaborating with Stylist Karl Templar you know your ‘merry-making’ is about to get serious and high-end. 

The biannual collection titled Fabulous! is a by-product of the ‘joy of dressing’ that has been circulating the interface of the Fashion industry. Post the increasing pile of athleisure and casual wears, inducing several odes to joy and featuring luxe plays on textures and accessories followed by the wrath of the Pandemic is inevitable.

Complimenting and breathing life to the campaign was a star-studded cast Sasha Pivovarova, Kirsten Owen, Marisa Berenson, Rianne Van Rompaey, Meadow Walker, Amar Akway, Raquel Zimmerman, Chiharu Okunugi, Yumi Nu, and  Precious Lee. The latest AW/21 collection is introduced to Zara-lovers with a video featuring the stars candidly talking to the camera chanting, ‘Beauty comes and goes, attitude stays forever’. The dramatic choreography with the dialogues ‘Drama, Drama, Drama, please give me some drama’ synchronizes with the looks from the collection that ooze, yes, DRAMA!

So, what is it about the collection that will galvanize your party pangs? The luxe collection is all about dramatic waistbelts transported right out of the early 2000s, Pinstripe suit sets, sequin dresses, furry and dramatiqué outwear. The rich and high-end textures are all in there with sheer midi dresses, wool with embellished splatter, and generous detailings of lace collars and necklines. The high-end capsule collection is an absolute bargain as compared to the rest of the designer labels that assemble details from various genres with a modern luxe twist. Come December, it is impossible to ignore holiday spirit lurking in every turn. Christmas decorations are simply everywhere, munching chocolate advent calendars is well underway, and of course – glorious Black Friday sale items have been acquired. Just in case you missed any of these seasonal markers, a quick look at any given boutique window display will reveal to its spectator a whirlwind of sparkly garments and sequins as far as the eye can see, thus officially declaring party season is upon us.

As I window-shop online, diligently and selectively creating perfect wishlists (yes, plural), I recalled a recent conversation I had with a friend who was looking for outfit ideas for her upcoming 80’s theme office Christmas party. Always ready, I whipped out my phone to suggest some of the bold shoulder, metallic mini dresses I fantasized about buying unironically and with no specific theme in mind. While she did love the dresses, she said she is uninterested in investing in an outfit she most likely will only wind up wearing once.

With Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf as my forever , I couldn’t really relate to what she was saying. While I agree that wearing the same bold statement pieces daily might cause them to lose their wow factor, I strongly believe that an interesting outfit is necessarily assembled from intriguing combinations of alleged contradictions. To me, mismatching textures and prints often enhance one another, and create unique looks, rather than appear as odd.

Chunky, woolly, oversized sweaters casually draping over dainty satin midi skirts; Over-the-top high heels combined with plain jeans or even track pants and socks; Or a classic “Jeans and a Nice Top” situation, are just a few serving suggestions of how to make use of basic wardrobe staples we all own, while making the most of whatever party fashion piece you decide to splurge on. Mixing “dressy” attire with “casual” items, is firstly – a great way to repurpose the fancy side of your closet, and secondly – an easy trick to instantly and effortlessly elevate your look.

Reimagining your closet with this mindset might take some getting used to, and you might require some trial and error until you manage to find combinations that feel like “you”. Luckily, social media offers us an inexhaustible fountain of creative aesthetic ideas – perhaps all you need is a little .

An overwhelming divide between two camps swept the Autumn/Winter 19 runways earlier this year, with many of the collections that graced the catwalks falling firmly into one of two sartorial categories: minimalism and maximalism.

For the minimalists, Tory Burch and Céline unveiled a plethora of back-to-basic bourgeois essentials, Alexander Wang featured understated supple leather, while neutral hues dominated at Victoria Beckham and The Row. At the other end of the spectrum, volume, drama, rich colours and embellishment – in other words, a maximalist’s dream – reigned supreme, with no shortage of seasonal sparkle. With December fast approaching and party season on the horizon, look to the runways for the key ingredients to scoring the perfect festive party look – warning, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

High on glamour, the holiday season is as good an excuse as any to load up on sparkle. With the season’s mantra that ‘more is more’, nothing is too extra when it comes to the party pieces to get you noticed. Imitate the high-shine styles found on the AW19 catwalks, with options abound for glittering looks that’ll slide effortlessly into your party season wardrobe. Seek blinding seasonal sparkle at Michael Kors, where matching feather boas offered the perfect accoutrement to plunging purple halter-necks and royal azure cut-out glitter dresses. Make a festive statement in a black and silver sequin mini dress with a giant outlandish bow, as donned by Kaia Gerber on the Saint Laurent runway. Or, if you’re looking for something a little less OTT, pair a silk shirt with high-waisted sequin trousers that’ll work hard to uplift a winter soirée, as seen at Paco Rabanne, or an all-over glitter blouse with ombre flares and chunky silver heels as demonstrated by Halpern. A little black dress is a fail-safe number for the office Christmas do – add a layer of edge and swathe yourself in sequins with a glittering black blazer dress inspired by Saint Laurent.

Catch the light in disco metallics, which held sway at Altuzurra in the form of a golden pleated tier dress. At Gucci, shimmering leopard print midi skirts were paired with lace blouses and emerald green mermaid pleats took form in a balloon-sleeve blouse worn with opulent lace red tights. Speaking of which, tights are the accessory du jour. From fishnets to polka dots and diamantée embellishment, a pair of tights adds the perfect finishing touch to a luxurious party look.

Have a penchant for roaring 20s Gatsby glam? A jewel-encrusted mini dress serves as the perfect +1 to accompany you to an upcoming Christmas party – add diamond tassel earrings for an extra dose of glamour as seen as Paco Rabanne, or black studded accessories at Balmain for a flapper-meets-90s grunge look. Take inspiration from Michael Kors and go tonal with a copper fringe dress, matching heels and a (faux) fur coat for that extra layer of warmth – the perfect pick-me-up for dark winter nights. Black-tie occasion? Plunge into luxurious plumage inspired by Marc Jacobs’ decadent ball gowns. Feather trimmings were equally plentiful, with feather-lined shoes worn with sparkling hot pants and a fur shawl at Saint Laurent, and a feather-hemmed black blazer dress unveiled at Balmain. Alternatively, opt for an evening tuxedo as the go-to alternative to a dress – but not without a dose of opulence in the form of rich, jewel-toned puff sleeves as seen at Alexander McQueen.

As the festive season draws closer, I am reminded of all the boyfriends of Christmas past. Not so much of the actual physical boyfriends themselves, but more specifically, I am reminded of the countless hours of late-night internet trawling, eyes dry from the time spent glued to my laptop screen, fingers aching from repeatedly typing in different variations of ‘what to get my boyfriend for Christmas’. Still none the wiser on what I should purchase after my hours of extensive research, this was usually followed by pegging it through town the morning of the day we had planned to exchange gifts, aggressively sidestepping through the masses of other fools who made the regrettable decision to go anywhere near anything that resembles a shop after December 1st.

And don’t get me started on the sacrifices I had to make to fund the gifts. All I’ll say is during the month of December it was goodbye Clinique cleanser, Lancôme foundation, and Pret for lunch and a frosty hello to ‘Wilko’s own’ makeup wipes, Primark foundation and a bleak home-made ham sandwich with a pack of cheese curls (the flavour-ly handicapped distant relative of the Quaver created by Aldi).

Obviously, depending on my relationship status, this process was a part of my yearly Christmas routine- I would go as far as to say it became my own personal festive tradition.

Apart from the years I found myself festively single, the result of this (almost) yearly procedure, no matter how much money, time, or effort I dedicated to it was always the same.

“Aw, Thanks babe, I love it.”

-uses once, at a push, twice. Or, If it was the new Fifa, it was used till the next new one came out (What an honour!)

-It is never seen again.

Clearly, me enduring the sacrifice of my essential beauty products and chicken and avocado salad had the adverse affect, as I am currently single. Therefore, I can confirm that every single hour, penny and ounce of effort I put into previous boyfriends’ Christmas presents was (in the long run) completely pointless.

Yes, Christmas is the season of giving. But come on girls, we all know we are members of the sex that possesses more of the tendencies that haters call manipulative, but I like to call wilful. Whatever you label it, the season where we can exercise these inherent abilities is upon us, and with gifts for our significant others, we can use them to our advantage!

Pretty much anything that is available in more than one colour is a potential candidate for the holy grail of presents for him/you… the ‘matching set’. What do you fancy? A new dressing gown and slippers? A passport cover or a suitcase? Luggage tags to go on the suitcase? The possibilities are endless (as long as you can get it in black!)

If he’s into books, now is the ideal time to subtly infuse his collection with a few volumes that are much more educational and beneficial; try the ‘Date Night In’ cook book or ‘The Little Book of Karma Sutra’ for a gentle nudge in the right direction. Or ‘How to be A Good Boyfriend’, if you want to get straight to the point.

It is a widely acknowledged fact that men are 100% more attractive when they have a sexy trail of fresh smelling cologne following them around. Aftershave isn’t merely a gift for you disguised as a gift for him, but a gift for the relationship.
