Want to stand out on the most eerie night of the year? Then be inspired by our darker offerings of beauty that will spook even the most avid horror enthusiast when the lights dim low on Halloween. Fall in love with these handpicked beauty looks that are artistic, chic and creative to shape-shift you into a captivating air of mystery come October 31st.

The Bloodshot Eye look is clearly a fan-favourite right now, but it isn’t for the faint-hearted. Instagram MUA @itstasha named her take on the look ‘Glossy or Bloody?’ and it’s perfect for this season’s rule breakers and risk takers. Tasha crafted this eerie look (right) using Red Glassgloss from Krygina Cosmetics and eyeshadow from Makeup Revolution.

To recreate, pack bright red pigment on your lid and lower lash line. Add eye gloss like MAC’s Studio Eye Gloss with a brush and complete with red contact lenses to take it to another realm.

Artisanal MUA Danessa Myricks has also created her own bewitching rendition of the red glossy eye (middle) by using a decadent red shadow on the lids, pitted against muted colours on the rest of the face.

Those of you wanting to take the ultimate trip to the dark side, give these monochromatic eyes a try. Vera Wang and Moschino showcased some of the most ominous looks of the season on the SS20 catwalk, and they’re inviting you to the ritual.

Moschino’s Resort (left & right) collection was Halloween-themed and went full-out to create the ultimate gothic-romance vibe. Vera Wang (middle) epitomised darkness with an edge, where each model enchanted with shadowy eyes, generating a ghoulish look that is both minimalist and harrowing. Those of you wanting to take the ultimate trip to the dark side, Moschino and Vera Wang are inviting you to the ritual.

Looking for something bolder – we’ve got you covered. Try these glossy black eyes to channel your inner demon. Combine black eyeshadow with eye gloss and glitter to create a decadently textured look that is far from average and reminiscent of the kind of ghostly eyes found on an Edvard Munch painting.

Finally if more attitude is something you crave, try these Freaky Lip Looks. Use bright red lipliner to overline your lips and fill with a voluptuous red. Follow with a high-shine gloss and dripping fake blood to channel your inner glampire. Galaxy lips is another amplified take on fright night offerings – cover your lips in white, add gloss and blue eye pigment and finally, adorn with multi-coloured glitter specs to make your Halloween masterpiece more sinister and enchanting than any other.

Taking inspiration from the amazing illustration of the high end fashionable recreation of the Powerpuff Girls, by none other than Hayden Williams, the girls took the cute nostalgic characters of the Noughties and turned them completely on their head with these absolute LOOKS.

4. Kendall Jenner as Austin Powers’ Fembot

You can always rely on KJ to pull it out the bag every Halloween with a look we sit and drool over. Last year she gave us the Powerpuff Girls and now she’s done it again with this 60’s Fembot costume! A sky-high blonde wig paired with a seductive pink sheer slip… shagadelic, baby!

5. Jeffree Star bleeds Louis Vuitton

Ever heard the saying, ‘cut me in half and I’d bleed fashion!’? Well Jeffree just took that to the next level. Combined with his stupendous creativeness, he created this unique and original look. Ok, maybe this one is not for the most of us as he literally devoured his Louis Vuitton bags to make this look, but we can dream right? This was a collaboration look with make-up artist Cole Carrigan.

6. Carli Bybel as an Enchantress

Famous beauty blogger, Carli Bybel, has heads turning in this mystical enchanting get up. Donned with a head of purple and black hair crawling down her back and dramatic contact lenses, she created a look that’s so enticing it’s hard not to fall in love with. Scary whilst still sexy, Carli hit the nail on the head with this one.

7. Kylie Jenner as Xtina from Dirrty

Ladies, move, gentlemen, move. Okay… we know this is a look from last year, BUT we just love this iconic outfit too much to not give it a mention. Kylie smashed this Dirrty get-up out of the park with even Christina Aguilera herself giving Kylie her seal of approval on her Instagram.

We have been blessed by all things spooky to receive such a collection, enabling us to be brilliantly bootiful this season. The packaging as well is something next level: it’s 3D. That’s right, you heard correctly, Kylie Cosmetics has provided a matching pair of 3D glasses with each collection so you can see the packaging in all of it’s psychedelic glory. We’re sure that this collection has something for everyone: Frankenstein green, pumpkin orange and bruised purple lipsticks- and even if you’re not into full vampire glam and prefer a statement blood red lipstick, this collection has something for you.

Revolution Beauty London always gives us some fierce Halloween makeup, and this year is no exception. Coming out with a Black Swan makeup kit, a haunted lipstick collection, liquid highlighters in skull shaped bottles, a range of pallets AND a special FX range complete with liquid latex and fake blood. They’ve sorted us out big time for anything and everything to do with Halloween: from ghoulish glamour to full on painted faces you’re going to want to own some of this collection.

A small collection but no less spooktacular: Sugarpill Cosmetics gave us 2 limited edition liquid lip colours. Named ‘Trick’ and ‘Treat’ these two lip colours are quintessentially Halloween. ‘Trick’ on the Sugarpill website is described as ‘witchy matte black with a supernatural blend of metallic orange and green sparkles’ – a perfect colour for this sinister season. The second colour ‘Treat’ is a ‘sparkling metallic copper. Pumpkin Spice’s flamboyant cousin’. These two colours are available as a set and individually, but best to get them quick as they’re limited edition!

Wet n Wild beauty came out with their ‘Fantasy Makers’ collection. They went with the idea of creating look bundles, as well as selling single staple Halloween products such as highlighters, face paint, face gems, stencils, various eyelashes and lipsticks. No one is holding back this season and Wet n Wild are no exception. The bundles consist of looks such as ‘vine vixen’ (clearly inspired by Poison Ivy), ‘zombie bride’ (if you’re looking for an undead elegance), and ‘undersea goddess’ (which is great for a mermaid inspired look). The list goes on with more and more bundles that’d be great for anyone looking for a Halloween makeup kit.

Whatever look you choose to do this spooky season, you have a plethora of frightfully fabulous pieces straight from the pumpkin patch.
