]]> Ever wished you could copy and paste the neon beauty looks from Euphoria onto your own face? If so, the show’s Emmy award-winning make-up artist- Donni Davy- is launching her own beauty line this Spring. After she described the line as both ‘weird and wonderful, we’re anticipating as much outrageously bold glam (full of rhinestones and glitter) in the collection as we see on the show.

The show’s daring looks have gained Donni Davy a cult following on Instagram where she announced the launch of her upcoming line ‘Half Magic’ this week. In the announcement, Davy claimed that for the past two years she has “been secretly working on creating the make-up line of her literal DREAMS”. Hinting at what we can expect from the collection, the MUA posted a snap of herself in a Davy-esque sparkly and vibrant eye look finished with a unique eyeliner design.

If the name Half Magic doesn’t tell you all you need to know about the bold and fantastical line, the website lists all that can be expected from it. “Space cowboy, neon boy next door, and glitter queen” are just a few of the titles given to describe the targeted audience of the line, describing what will no doubt be a diverse and joyful collection.

Eye-lectric

In a collaboration with make-up brand Face Lace, the make-up artist crafted a superhero-inspired eye look on Cionne Ware. The look went beyond bold- with lightning bolts, iridescent shadow, and purple liner- nothing was off-limits.

The best part of the look is that if you can’t cultivate liner looks quite as advanced as Davy, she uses Face Lace stickers. The stickers mean you can recreate Davy’s elaborate, Euphoria-style liner designs in seconds!

Love is in the Cut Crease

Valentines may have just passed but Donni Davy is still feeling the love with a fuchsia heart-themed eye look on Euphoria star Barbie Ferreira. Posting the look to her Instagram followers this week, Davy admitted the look was “the brainchild of Barbie”; claiming the cut-crease look for season 2 was suggested by the star herself.

The negative space heart was created using a small heart sticker and the glamorous look was finished with a tiny rhinestone.

Maddy Perez’s Soft Glam

Subtle and sweet isn’t usually Euphoria’s beauty memo, but whilst Maddy (played by Alexa Demie) tried on a series of outfits fit for a Hollywood star in Euphoria Episode 2, Season 2, a soft glam look was required.

Attempting to channel “ the future, grown-up Maddy”, Davy used a double-winged liner against a gentle nude lip to produce an elegant but fierce look to match Maddy’s character.

Cassie’s Fantasy Eyes

While the looks in season 2 of Euphoria have been insane, we can’t neglect season 1’s wonderful looks which began Davy’s legacy as a legendary MUA. Most memorable was Cassie’s look (played by Sydney Sweeney) in her fantasy ice-skating scene of Episode 8. In which, the star’s entire face was coated in rhinestones while a nude lip complimented the turquoise and olive hues of Cassie’s eyes and costume.

NYE Glam

Davy is known for utilising her own face to play with looks before using them on clients, a perfect example was her 2021 New Years glam. She created this look with stick-on rhinestones and liner to create a bold and dangerous sculptural look.

Fairytale Glam

Davy created a light green fairytale-inspired look on model Lena Embry. Using her staple Face Lace stick-on pieces, the MUA created a cloud-like effect around the eye. The look was then finished with a matte lip.

]]> The beauty artistry in season two of HBO’s hit show Euphoria has been dubbed the ‘introverted sister’ of season one by the show’s talented make-up artist Donni Davy. While the show may have swapped chunky glitter for a dewy glow, the make- up looks this season are no less iconic than in the first. Here we take a look at our favourite looks and recreations from the first two episodes of Euphoria season two.

Maddy’s Sharp-as-a-Knife Liner Look

It wouldn’t be Euphoria without Maddy’s knock-out glam. Maddy brought in the new year with a glittery eyeliner look. Davy described the look as ‘sharp as a knife to cut through whatever stands in her (maddy’s) way’, symbolising the fierce persona of the iconic Miss Perez.

Instagram MUA @kimi_jpg put her own creative spin on Maddy’s eye look. While she kept the ultra- super sharp liner and silver shadow, Kimi covered her inner and outer eyes with rhinestones, reminiscent of the glittering glam featured in the show’s first season.

Equally impressive was @rowisingh, a make-up artist who added the iconic Euphoria rhinestones below her brow bone for a bold recreation. The two MUAs recommend the following products to create the look:

Jules left her vivid, pixie- eye looks in season one, preferring a stripped back grunge aesthetic this time round. In the first episode of season two, Jules wore little make- up besides a defining inner- corner eyeliner look. Davy told her Instagram followers that the look had been inspired by the shape of a mermaid purse.

The detailed liner has been imitated by skilled influencers like @itsmariyaxo. The beauty content creator impressively emulated almost every make-up look from season two’s first episode. Not only did she nail her imitation of the confidence and allure of the show’s characters in her reel, she also mastered the show’s most intricate make- up details like Jules’ spiky liner.

Euphoria is renowned for bright and beautiful eye looks. Season two sees Barbara Ferreira’s character Kat continue this legacy, as she wore a cyan blue shimmer eyeshadow, layered beneath highlighter yellow eyeshadow by Euphoria make-up artist Alexandria French.

Content creator @kickiyangz said she loved all the looks in Euphoria, but chose to recreate Kat’s duo- toned eyes for her followers. Instead of layering the two colours the way French did, Kicki flaunted an all blue lid contrasted by a yellow shadow in her inner corners. She also added a winged liner and rhinestones to finish the look, which looked equally as stunning as Kat’s original look.

Giving us absolute island envy, Elsa Hosk opted to go au natural as she escaped to the sun. Her sandy blonde mane fell effortlessly into salty waves that called for nothing else other than a bikini and some shades!

Main Character Energy

Be the main character with this easy to achieve makeup look plucked straight from Sarah Feingold’s grid. Scraped back hair and a radiant blank canvas make way for this striking purple lip combo. This sought after ombré effect can be created with as little as two products, oh how we love a no fuss makeup look! Firstly, start by tracing around the lips with a dark toned liner to set the look in place, then go in with your main colour on the outskirts of the lips and gently blend towards where your lips meet, finish the look off with a gloss if you so wish and there you have it, main character energy!

Elements Of Euphoria

From star of the show, Barbie Ferreria, to artistic creator, Rowan Singh, girls all over the world are giving us their best Euphoria-inspired beauty looks. Featuring dangerously sharp edges, sprinkles of shimmer, pigmented colour, and not forgetting nails to match, it doesn’t get more euphoric than these two looks, does it?

Half N’ Half

Leaving her natural dark tresses in 2021, Dua Lipa has started the new year with an ultra cool half and half hair look. Bleach blonde strands define the face, while minimal peeps of brunette come through from beneath, creating a dramatic black and white effect.

Eyes Up High

With hair up high and little else going on down below, it was all about the eyes in Raihanna Thompson’s show-stopping makeup look this week. Cool-toned blue shades swept up high to the brow bone, while a warm glitzy bronze brought the whole look together. To finish off the look, rainbow coloured gems were placed perfectly in position to catch the light.

Oozing Beauty

When it comes to nail art, Nails By Mei is the best in the biz’. With over 300K followers on Instagram, the New York-based artist experiments with a multitude of patterns, shapes and textures on a daily basis. Her recent playful pink look for Ava Rose Bysiewicz was inspired by strawberry jam and the oozy 3D detailing imitates the condiment perfectly!

Locks on Locks

Letting her natural locks do all the talking, Aduta Kech looked vacay-ready as she accessorised her tresses with a patterned silk scarf. Her sun kissed skin required no product at all, aside from SPF and a healthy pump of gloss on the lips!

Popping Pink

Looking pretty in pink, beautiful Belle certainly got the memo! Playing around with a range of shades, here is how you can achieve her look. Go with a bold, attention grabbing pink around the eyes to make them pop, followed by a warm toned shade to accentuate the cheekbones, add a darker iteration on the lips, and a sparkly metallic for the nails. Fluffy earmuffs and an animal print coat are required to complete this look!

New York Fashion Week indisputably sets the trends. Its influence does not stop at fashion and clothing as an array of hair and beauty trends debut on the runway and into the public interest.

HBO’s Euphoria (which debuted this June) has had a strong influence on the makeup artists of NWFW with MUA Romero Jennings even hash-tagging on his Insta post featuring his VFiles looks. With the shows now a vibrant memory, here’s our rundown of the best looks in hair and makeup that will shock, amaze and inspire you.

MAKEUP

Head in the Clouds

Mansur Gavriel SS20

At Mansur Gavriel it was all about the eyes. Romy Soleimani (@romyglow) was in control of painting the eyelids of the models, and skilfully utilised white and azure hues to create dreamy looks that mirrored the sky. Soleimani used Bobbi Brown to create these awing looks and kept true to her love of colour.

Acid Green

Ulla Johnson SS20

Do you ever get the urge to find the brightest eyeshadow in your makeup collection and paint it all over your lids? Soleimani’s acid toned eye-looks for Ulla Johnson did just this. Sharp and glow in the dark, Soleimani applied neon green eye pigment delicately and idiosyncratically to each model, creating a masterpiece and continuing her experimental style.

Graphic Eyeliner

VFiles SS20

VFiles rocks an edgy-streetwear aesthetic and fittingly, MUA Romero Jennings (@romerojennings) went big and bold with the makeup. Red-winged liner to the heavens, holographic glitter, and silver brows all caught our attention.

Jennings put a contemporary yet dazzling spin on 70s punk beauty, using M.A.C products to create the look – Jules from Euphoria would be proud. Use the Chromaline gel eyeliner in Basic Red to recreate the look, and don’t feel pressured to make it too perfect, just wing it.

Rhinestone Encrusted

Pyer Moss SS20

Pyer Moss’ show was a love-letter to the 70s. Red rhinestones encrusted the models’ eyes and garments down the runway. Uoma beauty took control of beauty and kept up with the brand’s commitment to keeping makeup diverse, purposeful and head-turning. Red monochrome eyes were all the rave. The makeup at fashion week teaches us to have fun with glitter, bright colours and killer wings. Treat your face as a canvas and experiment with a few of these future-facing eye-looks!

HAIR & ACCESSORIES

Don’t Touch My Hair

Pyer Moss SS20

Pyer Moss’ show Collection 3, Sister also impressed as he put on display the contributions of African Americans to American culture. Fittingly, natural hair slayed the runway and was styled with skill. Such hair looks are long overdue at Fashion Week with African-American models such as Olivia Anakwe previously calling out their negative experiences with hair stylists.

Moss’ show proves that change is occurring.

With New York city only recently banning discrimination of natural hair, Moss’ show seems to question why it has taken this long. His show embraces and celebrates, in all of its glory, natural hair. Mini gold heads of rapper Ms Lauryn Hill embellished braided hair, halo-like Afros graced heads and dreads of all variants were all standouts.

Holo-Hair

Jonathan Cohen SS20 and Ulla Johnson SS20

Both Jonathan Cohen and Ulla Johnson featured models with hair plaited together with fabric (Cohen) and holographic plastic (Johnson) giving off Boho-Chic vibes. Though fabric in hair is a little 2000’s it could be making a comeback this season. Alice + Olivia colour-coordinated baby-pink hair scarves tied into a ponytail with eye-shadow, major 90s nostalgia.

Bejewelled Faces

Area SS20

Accessories? Makeup? Both? Regardless of unanswered questions – Area stole the show with the way they reinvented the chemical compositions of ‘makeup’. From diamante beards to Swarovski tears, Area’s aesthetic had us in awe and left us philosophising just how they managed to keep the jewels on faces without falling off! Face makeup was kept to a minimum for the show allowing the jewels to shine with full force.
