After a year of great songs, albums, and performances from some of the world’s most exciting artists right now, the biggest and best night in the music industry’s crazy calendar, The Grammy’s, is just around the corner. With the Annual Awards set to take place in just a few months’ time, we take a look at some of the nominations for 2022.
The 64th edition of the awards show will be presented by The Recording Academy live on CBS at the end of January, with artists nominated for awards in over 80 different categories, including Song Of The Year, Best New Artist, and Album Of The Year. Nominees include Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Halsey, Lil Nas X, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Kanye West, and many more.
Some of our favourite tracks of the year, Peaches – Justin Bieber, Kiss Me More – Doja Cat and Drivers License – Olivia Rodrigo are all up for Record Of The Year and we can totally see why!
With nominations in four of the top categories, Best Album, Best New Artist, Record Of The Year, and Song Of The Year, and the only artist to achieve so, Olivia Rodrigo is already dominating the awards and is set for a big win on the night. Alongside her three other nominations, the directors and producers of the artist’s Good 4 U video are also nominated for awards.
Here at home, the wonderful Arlo Parks has earned herself two nominations for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album for Collapsed In Sunbeams which received critical acclaim and peaked at number three on the UK charts. Records from the album like Caroline and Too Good really got us through the turbulent times of this year … we’re rooting for you, Arlo!
You can catch the show on Monday 31st January by streaming it live on the CBS Television Network or on Paramount+ and don’t forget to join the conversation by congratulating your favourite artists using the #GRAMMYs hashtag on social media.
