Sam Dameshek has become one of the most influential photographers of his generation with his innovative style and entrepreneurial spirit. The 20 years old photographer who’s currently based in Los Angeles has captured some of the most renowned celebrities such as Miley Cyrus and worked on incredible campaigns for brands like Puma and Tommy Hilfiger.
You might ask yourself how all of this may be possible at such a young age and in such a competitive field, but Dameshek proves to us that anything is possible with the right motivation and a genuine passion. He started at the age of 14 and, since then, never stopped creating his own path according to his talent and personal vision of the creative world.
His photography stands out because it acts as more than a simple beautiful image, it shares stories and meaningful conversations. As the photographer has explained himself in various interviews, his goal when photographing a model is to make them forget that they’re being photographed, to forget about all of the different people surrounding them, and to bring out their real selves, allowing them to concentrate in the present connection with the photographer and his concept. That’s the magic touch in all of his images, that ‘caught in the moment’ feeling that is always present, his style is raw and authentic yet always delicate due to the intimacy that he manages to recreate.
Another aspect that’s impossible to forget when talking about Sam is his talent with film, he forms part of the new wave of photographers that has managed to reintroduce the importance and beauty of film photography. He captures our modern reality through old lenses and makes the most common moments feel like special frames in time. However he doesn’t solely rely on it, he finds versatility to be one of the greatest assets for a creative nowadays and believes in the ability to experiment and getting out of your comfort zone as much as you can, as he recently explained in an interview with In The Know ; “ if you stare at something for too long you’ll get lost”, and he’s probably right. He never does the same thing or stays in the same place, as his career clearly depicts that, London with Halsey, New York with Camila Cabello, and Canada with Shawn Mendes are a few of the places he has gone to in order to create the content that we all love.

There’s never a dull moment in Sam’s life as he expresses himself, photography isn’t his only passion but in general collaborating with other creatives and maximizing his potential in every area of the artistic and entrepreneurial field. He has founded his own brand ‘Wish Me Luck; which you’ve definitely come across through the photoshoots with models Elisha and Renee Herbert that reached more than 31,000 likes, he also collaborates with other artists, teaches photography through workshop classes around the world, and is currently working on an upcoming exhibition and the release of a book.
So it’s safe to say that he’s right, you’ll never find a dull moment in his creative mind, and as hard and exhausting as it may seem the 20-years-old explains that it’s all possible through maintaining a routine that supports your mental health and surrounding yourself with people that believe in you.
