The 2023 Council of Fashion Designer America awards had their 42nd annual ceremony at the Museum of Natural History in the Upper West side of Manhattan on the 6th of November. The CFDA aims to celebrate America fashion in all its glory. This year’s awards were hosted by Anne Hathaway, who also makes it to our best-dressed list of the night. Here are a few celebrities who best managed to encapsulate the high fashion moment that are the CFDAs.

La La Anthony

La La Anthony wore a custom Saint Sintra with a brown one piece, channeling the micro shorts trend as seen on the runways for Milan Autumn/Winter ‘23. She pairs the piece with a cape of a matching colour, black pumps and a statement gold choker tying the gorgeous piece together.

Serena Williams

The star tennis player won the award for ‘Fashion Icon of the Year,’ the first athlete to do so at the CFDAs. Williams wore this exquisite Thom Browne creation with a sweetheart neckline and statement off shoulder sleeves, playing with texture and structural elements. She finished the look with an attention-grabbing diamond necklace.

Coco Rocha

The model stole the show in this Christian Siriano set. The play between the dark stiffness of the black top and the feminine pink flowing at the bottom with a slit, tied together with the ruffled rose, satin platform heels and hat was everything the CFDA stands for. Truly a triumph for American fashion.

Rauw Alejandro

The Puerto Rican singer-songwriter was dressed by Willy Chavarria in this incredibly tailored red suit. To add to the flowy nature of the suit, Chavarria pairs the suit with a black sheer shirt, leather gloves and the rose embellishment giving us a break from the usual black tuxedo and generic suit clad stars.

Kim Kardashian

Reality television star, Kim Kardashian who was also a presenter for the night, wore a Chrome Hearts black leather, halter gown with the cross motif embossed across the garment. Kardashian chose to complete the look with a messy updo and her signature makeup.

Emma Chamberlain
