Celebrity Halloween Couples Costumes Inspo Straight From The Gram

It’s finally that fated time of the season, when the yellowed trees drop their leaves and you have to wear tights under your tiny skirts. If Halloween is the only time of the year when a girl can dress up like a total slut and no one can say anything about it, what does that mean for those of you in couples? Possibly the most instagrammable day of the year, people spend months planning and compiling the perfect costume that’ll say something about them: how cool they are, how funny, how hot, how much more they know about indie slasher horror than you. Well, we’re here with some couple costume inspo snatched directly from the feeds of your fave celebs just in time for the day of the dead.

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas as Mortica and Gomez Addams

When in doubt, Addams family values is always a safe bet for a costume on Halloween, and what better way to show your love to everyone than by cosplaying as one of the most enviable lovers in horror fiction. Many people have done it, but when it’s done right, it’s unforgettable, which is why this Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas moment continues to live on in our Pinterest mood boards for years on.

Beyonce and Jay-Z as Barbie and Ken

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s Ken and Barbie prove you don’t need to be scary to nail a Halloween look. That Barbie pink is instantly recognisable and looks great on everyone. With the new Greta Gerwig Barbie soon approaching, there’s lots of Barbie content out there to take inspiration from this fall. You might even taken inspo from Snow Barbie or Halloween Barbie for season-appropriate style.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker as Kim and Edward Scissorhands

It wouldn’t be a Couples costume inspo list without at least one of Travis and Kourtney’s now iconic Halloween fits. Kim and Edward Scissorhands have multiple notable looks throughout the film, and scissor hands aside, both looks are quite simple to pull off. Lydia has lots of flowy looks (that are perfect for spring anyway) and Edward’s gimp leather suit and black messy tresses shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish with the help of a leather jacket, comb and some hairspray.

Bella Hadid and The Weekend as Beetlejuice and Lydia

There was a time when Bella Hadid and The Weekend were the couple of the moment, and though that may have passed, the photos they took will live on forever. One particular unforgettable moment was their Lydia and Beetlejuice costume that has paparazzi knocking over journalists to snap a shot of them. Their time may have come to an end, but this look is timeless, and would suit any it couple this fall.

Evan Peters and Halsey as Sonny and Cher

The 70s are always fun to take inspiration from, what with the rise of flares and Farrah Fawcett hair, you probably already have what you need to accomplish this look in your closet. The Sonny and Cher look is so fun and recognisable – not to mention, probably the most iconic couple from that period – that you’ll surely be a hit wherever you go. Plus, if you play your cards right, you can probably find a really great Cher inspired fit that you’ll want to hold on to anyways…

Stephen and Ayesha Curry as Mr and Mrs Smith

Mr and Mrs Smith is actually a pretty great Halloween costume idea because it doesn’t involve any face paint or prosthetics, it’s basically just looking a little scruffed up and very hot. Angelina and Brad may be gone for good, but this fun look will surely be a mainstay on your IG for a while.

Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka as sexy nurse and doctor

Halloween costumes don’t need to be anyone, they don’t even need to mean anything, the only thing a costume needs to be is recognisable – and what’s more classic than dressing as some sexy nurses on a cold October night? Mariah Carey and her partner Bryan Tanaka dressed in sexy doctor / sexy nurse get up and looked adorable whilst doing it.

Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin as Princess Mononoke Characters

Anime has become massively influential in fashion, and thanks to the popularity of cosplayers, there are tons of reasonably priced fits of all your favourite characters. Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin looked polished, cute and like they were having a lot of fun (which is what matters) in their Princess Mononoke fit. For anyone that likes a good Ghibli movie, there are tons of well-known characters that are both easy to pull off and so instragrammable.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prince Jr as Richie and Margot Tenenbaum

At every Halloween party, there will be a variety of couples. The hot couple, the fun one, the ones who are trying too hard and the ones that are just too cool. Sucking on their elf pens or European cigarettes, this is the couple that that’ll ooze cool and probably be dressed up as some french whatever you’ve never heard of, but it’s easier than you think to achieve the look. Whilst we don’t encourage smoking or pretentiousness, you can pull off the effortlessly cool look just like Sarah M. Geller and Freddie Prince Jr. by taking inspo from your favourite indie flick (doesn’t have to be super unknown). Wes Anderson is always a good shout because his work is so known and so chic that you can dress up and still be recognised. Plus, who doesn’t love a good pair of loafers?
