Lagos, Nigeria – Global powerhouse and two-time GRAMMY® Award-winner Tems is making major moves beyond the mic. This August, she launches the Leading Vibe Initiative — a game-changing platform created to support, connect, and amplify young women in music across Africa, with an eye on global expansion.
Rooted in her hometown of Lagos, the inaugural rollout will bring together rising talent for an empowering two-day experience filled with masterclasses, panels, and creative workshops — all designed to equip female artists, songwriters, and producers with the tools, community, and confidence to lead.
“My goal with the Leading Vibe Initiative is to help discover and support talented young women who have the potential to redefine the industry,” Tems shares. “By providing access, tools and opportunity, we’re creating space for them to find their voices, step into their power and shape the future of music across the continent and globally.”
Inspired by her own rise through the industry with little access or backing, Tems is now building the support system she never had. The initiative arrives at a crucial moment, with women still vastly underrepresented across music: just 22% of artists, 12.8% of songwriters, and a shocking 3% of producers worldwide are women.
Partnering with global creatives and powered by cutting-edge technology from Native Instruments, the Leading Vibe Initiative is ready to shift the narrative. From mentorship and tech access to career-defining opportunities, this is about rewriting the rules — by women, for women.
Applications are now open for young creatives based in Nigeria to attend the Lagos program on August 8–9. Expect real talks, real tools, and real opportunities to grow.
✨ Deadline to apply: July 13.
