The campaign attempts to bring together Bridal, Swim, and Menswear in a romantic collection that uses DI PETSA’s signature wetlook drapery. Think of ancient Greek sculpture work as you take in this campaign, looking at the way the marble work of statues such as Aphrodite of Milos or Ermis of Samothraki reflects in the craftsmanship of the drapery of the fabric, the wetlook mirroring the marble clothing that adorns the statues. With these references, DI PETSA incorporates wedding rituals whilst also subverting traditional gender roles, exploring the male and female dynamic by showing a raw and unfiltered emotion in the models, with men aggressively reaching for bouquets of flowers as their tears merge with the fabric of their garments against a stark, black background whilst women appear in a much calmer, neutral manner as they move sensually and in harmony with each other.

The campaign was headed by photographer Louisa Vradi and art directed by Christos Petritzis (Ruins Agency), masterfully shooting, and interpreting the heightened emotional state of falling in love through a mythological lens. Through this interpretation, we see DI PETSA exploring the arena of menswear for the first time. The brand has previously specialised in womenswear, therefore this new chapter for DI PETSA presents an exciting vision through DI PETSA’s lens of how menswear can be interpreted. Their use of the wetlook drapery in clothing intended for male-use garments will hopefully leave room for wider interpretation of menswear for the brand, perhaps for their main SS25 collection.

This campaign, titled Wet Brides Act II – Eros in Pain, entails 20 looks – playing into bridalwear with all-white pieces, styled with gold accents via jewellery and chains. Shell-shaped pieces and healing moonstone crystals also feature throughout the collection. DI PETSA’s first venture in menswear in this collection saw a wetlook two-piece trouser set with carefully draped, full length trousers and a cropped shirt with a peak of collarbone.

Draped, white shirts and tiny, lace-up swim shorts also appeared in the menswear selection, igniting a sense of femininity amongst the womenswear we also see throughout the campaign. Beautiful, white dresses and bikinis allude to the bridalwear that lies at the heart of the collection, with strong references to Aphrodite and her fountain via the wetlook drapery and silhouettes of the dresses that appear akin to the dresses worn in Greek scripture and drawings of ancient Greek gods and goddesses.

The womenswear is intricately adorned with clear, crystal embroidery and held together with gold jewellery chains, beautifully creating a sense of ethereality, and narrating a story of transformative love and desire where vulnerability meets strength in men’s and womenswear. 

DI PETSA invites you to experience “the pain and transformative power of love” which dresses but also undresses emotions, making visible the invisible currents between us, clothes soaked in emotion.

Karlsson took AVAVAV to notoriety with her transformative footwear, her most famous design being the thigh-high, rubbery, green boots with long toes that went viral across Tik Tok and Instagram. Influencers such as Mia Maples were trying them out, baffled at their wacky toe design which elongated the toes and created a monster/chicken foot at the bottom. Doja Cat then also appeared at the 2021 MTV Awards sporting multi-coloured, thigh-high boots that resembled chicken’s feet at the bottom, which drew attention to the brand with their outlandish design and narrative surrounding human dysmorphia, with the addition of extra-terrestrial or animalistic elements.

The brand’s debut at Milan Fashion Week for their S/S 2023 collection was heavily discussed, with a dramatised runway that saw their models intentionally falling over whilst wearing clothing adorned with dollar signs, the slogan ‘filthy rich,’ and multiple Rolex watches that covered the models’ arms completely.

Karlsson made it clear that this was a commentary on the superficiality of the luxury fashion market and the false belief that wearing luxury brands means a person is superior. AVAVAV’s bold critique made for a memorable debut, garnering attention and much speculation surrounding their next runway show.

For AVAVAV’s F/W 2023 show, Beate Karlsson continued her commentary on the state of the fashion industry, sticking with the critique of the luxury fashion market and creating a runway show titled “Fake it Till You Break It.” This saw the models’ clothes falling away from their bodies as they made their way down the catwalk, with poor stitching and intentional rips on display as a commentary on the decreasing quality of clothing in the luxury market due to uncurbed consumption and demand for luxury goods. To end the show, Beate herself entered to give thanks to the audience when the walls began to collapse around her – marking an extravagant and poignant end to the show.

More recently, AVAVAV’s debuting of their S/S 2024 collection at MFW left the internet rocked, with Karlsson’s collection titled “No Time to Design” which appeared hasty and unfinished, with models in incomplete outfits, or dressing themselves in a rushed manner as they hastened down the runway. Again, Beate continues her discussion surrounding the lack of quality and creativity in the luxury market, parodying luxury brands humorously by implying their designs are rushed and lack creativity in order to keep up with increased demand and consumption.

Their most recent work is a collaboration between AVAVAV and East Pak – “Built to Resist,” combining durability with design as AVAVAV reimagines the traditional bag work of East Pak through multiplication of their designs and deconstruction of their more conventional bag styles. This collab appears a match made in heaven, as both brands are clear with their intentions towards the sustainability of their garments.

AVAVAV makes a strong commitment to upcycling, using scrap materials sourced from renowned brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Jacquemus and continuously using sustainable methods of designing and packaging. East Pak has also made a mission statement surrounding sustainability, aiming to reduce consumption by increasing the warranty on their products to 30 years and attempting to use recycled fabrics where possible.

Their collaboration launch saw their products packaged in rubbish bags and egg cartons, with a theme of ‘trash’ throughout the launch event and runway show as a commentary on the increasing disposability of luxury fashion and the ever-growing number of clothes sent to landfill each year.

Poster Girl’s brilliant new ad campaign is promoting their new collection with a ‘The Bachelor/Love Island’-esque mini-series debuting on their Instagram. The campaign includes huge stars such as Kim Petras, Lana Rhoades, Alton Mason, and India Westbrooks and features their collection on the stars as the girls fight it out for Alton Mason’s affections.

Mason is perhaps one of the biggest names to be involved on the project. An American model, he is best known for being the first black model to walk for Chanel in 2018, leading him on to achievements such as GQ Australia’s male model of the year 2019 and earning a place on Forbes’s 30 under 30 list under Art and Style, as well as global ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana.

His success on the runway may be a large part in why he was chosen for such a creative campaign, due to both founders having profound experiences at fashion houses such as Christian Dior, Alexander Wang, John Galliano, and Bvlgari. Poster Girl, the brainchild of Francesca Capper and Natasha Sommerville, launched in 2017 and manifests “confidence and ultra-femininity by referencing a direct nostalgia to the designers’ upbringings […]. Poster Girl celebrates inner confidence and femininity.” Poster Girl now dresses the likes of Paris Hilton, Kylie Jenner, Megan Fox, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa, and Doja Cat – rocketing to fame quickly with their designs and fantastic ad campaigns.

Although Alton Mason, who dons a floor length red feather overcoat and tailored black slacks in the opening episode, is the object of the girls’ desire in the campaign – it is the girls who should be the object of our desire as they wear clothes from Poster Girl’s new collection. The opening shot consists of a wide angle that shows all the girls in the campaign. Red, pink, and black are the colours at the forefront of the collection, manifesting in lace, netting, leather, PU, and sparkles with pops of animal print in neutral tones.

Ester Manas is a brand focused on inclusivity and sustainability, founded in 2019 by Belgian duo Ester Manas and Balthazar Delepierre. They have received acclaim from the H&M Design Award, the Hyères Festival, the ANDAM Prize and the LVMH Prize, and have been described as “the most size-inclusive brand at fashion week” by the New York Times. Ganni is a Danish fashion brand founded as a cashmere line by Frans Truelsen in 2000. It has since transformed to focus on ready-to-wear pieces with a minimalist, ‘cool girl’ Scandinavian style seen on celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Bella Hadid. Talking to I-D Magazine, Ditte Reffstrup, Creative Director of Ganni, said they wanted to “conjure that mood you’re in when you’re going on a holiday, and everything feels so light and joy-filled” as well as something that “exuded a sense of feeling confident and sexy in your own skin”. The collection is also manufactured in an eco-friendly manner, using materials like organic cotton, recycled polyamide, and recycled polyester mesh.

With over 1.5 billion streams collectively on Spotify and multiple TikTok sounds dominating all our FYPs, it’s no wonder they were chosen as the faces for the brand’s largest offering since its 2019 launch.

The campaign introduces the Everyday Sculpt Collection: a selection of lightweight, everyday sculpting bralettes, thongs, bodysuits, and more. And if you already loved the fan favourite Seamless Sculpt Collection, we have good news for you: it has been updated with eleven new cuts (yes, eleven!). Even the megaviral Seamless Sculpt Bodysuit got an upgrade.

“I’m excited to launch this next generation of Skims shapewear with a campaign that celebrates these incredible musical artists,” said Kim in the press release. “Ice Spice, Nessa Barrett, Pinkpantheress, and RAYE are super talented women and truly reflect our SKIMS community.”

The mother of four shared the collection’s campaign pics on an Instagram carousel post this Monday, and they already have the Internet (us included) in a frenzy. With Kim being Miss Pop Culture herself, it’s no surprise that her brand is always on the pulse of what’s hot– and their newest campaign is certainly no different.

The first photo of the carousel features none other than the Bronx-based rapper Ice Spice, with her famed red curls and signature jewelry. This is not the singer’s first collaboration with the Kardashian Klan; earlier this year she broke the Internet by teaming up with Kim’s oldest daughter after the 9-year-old posted a drawing of the artist on TikTok. It seems like little North West is as much of a fan
of Ice Spice as the artist is of her mom’s new shapewear styles. “SKIMS just gets it and makes me feel extra snatched,” the star said.

British vocalist and producer Pinkpantheress is the next star of Kim’s Instagram post. Although this is her first collaboration with the Kardashians, it’s not her first with Ice Spice. Their hit song ‘Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2’ reached No. 1 on Billboard’s streaming chart and has been ruling the TikTok music scene for over two months now.

RAYE, who’s about to embark on her biggest tour yet, is the talent featured in the third picture. “SKIMS has changed the game when it comes to inclusivity and representation, and I’m honoured to be a part of its community of confident women,” the ‘ESCAPISM’ singer said.

The last face of the campaign is TikTok’s very own Nessa Barret, who went from the platform’s resident sweetheart to headlining her own worldwide tour in less than five years. “I’m honored”, she commented on the social media post.

When talking about the casting choice, Jens Grede, CEO of SKIMS, said: “This next generation of musical talent really embodies how our customers wear our shapewear today.”

With a star-studded roster including SZA, Bella Poach, and Addison Rae, there’s no doubt that the new viral foursome will fit right into the SKIMS family– and that the TikTok-approved brand still has us in a chokehold.

The Marc Jacobs sub-brand of has been operating a direct-to-consumer approach, producing limited and usually themed collections sold online. Previous collections have featured collaborations with different organisations and groups, such as: a shoe collection with Dr Martens, a line of fairy wings with Anna Sui, and plush toys with Chinese artist Nhozagri. Heaven’s campaigns have featured celebs like Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, and Pamela Anderson.

Heaven launched in 2020, with creative director Ava Nirui at the helm. The 30-year-old Aussie’s first collaboration with Jacobs was the satirical ‘Mark Jacobes’ hoodies, mocking bootleg knockoffs of designer products.

Heaven is inspired by the subcultures of the 90s, especially the grunge fashion wave that emerged in Seattle. Grunge is not unfamiliar to Marc Jacobs, whose Perry Ellis SS93 collection brought the style to the runway, showcasing plaid skirts, micro cardigans, and lots of layering reminiscent of today’s UNIF.

90’s style brings a sense of nostalgia to millennials but appeals more to Gen-Z, who romanticise the aesthetic of a time they didn’t experience. The store is located on 10 Brewer Street in London’s trendy Soho district, known for its nightlife, LGBTQIA+ community, theatres, clubs, and restaurants. Inspired by the metaverse, H&M have created fashion pieces worthy across all dimensions and galaxies. Although virtual reality, space and the future are key influences for the collection as a whole, designs are seen to have taken inspiration a little bit closer to home. The natural world can be seen in the collection in the form of satellite imagery, blooming flowers and microscopic cells. The decision to incorporate influence from our world as well as others is inspired. The laws of physics are left behind as new, innovative fashion styles are dreamt up and constructed via virtual reality.

The sustainable aspects of the new collection are found within the design process. Materials such as REPREVE Our Ocean recycled polyester created from plastic bottles found in the oceans and 100% recycled sequins from plastic bottle waste are responsibly utilized. Zero-waste pattern cutting has been implemented for the sequin studded dress and selected garments will be available in H&M’s rental service.

Within the women’s RTW range H&M have designed some galaxy gems. Lilac is utilized in a ruffled mini-dress as well as a sequined halter neck dress. Suits, dramatic tulle gowns and corseted bodice dresses are some of the delights that await you on Thursday the 8^th. Ear cuffs, bracelet cuffs and chokers take influence from liquid metal, giving the look of mercury being drizzled upon ears, wrists and necks.

Already spotted at the 2022 Fashion Awards, attendees such as Alva Claire, Irina Shayk and Leomie Anderson gave us a glimpse of the star dusted range. 

The virtual collection, which can be viewed on H&M’s website, as well as tried on with their 3D in-app function, is super cool. Model-less designs are showcased in short video animations featuring use of light, sped up flower and foliage growth, and running water which molds around an invisible figure. The digital world of fashion means that there are unlimited styles possible and we are living in the prime experimentation age of VR. We suspect H&M will continue exploring the digital realm of fashion and fantasy to provide us with more innovative, futuristic designs available both online and offline.
