The campaign has been built around the phrase ‘Everybody is Wearing Skims’ as the brand launches the lace variations of its famous ‘Fits Everybody’ collection. Skims’ will be releasing five limited edition colours of the ‘Fits Everybody Lace’, including four shades of pink, perfect for Valentine’s Day. This includes a lace edition the famous Skims slip dress which will be sure to go as viral as the others.

Jelly Sheer Rhinestone

The Valentine’s Collection also marks the launch of the ‘Jelly Sheer Rhinestone’. The sparkling collection is available in both ‘Onyx’ and ‘Petal’ allowing you to choose between dark femininity or a bubble-gum pink look. The ‘Jelly Sheer’ collection is one of Skims’ already beloved ranges that has received a Valentine’s revamp, this time in the form of rhinestone embellishment.

Warp Knit Catsuit

A much bolder launch is the ‘Warp Kit Catsuit’. We all remember Kim Kardashian’s mask phase, even taking to the Met Gala steps in a latex look that we only knew was hers because we told so, and Kim has decided to share this look with her customers through the ‘Warp Knit Catsuit’.

Lace Trimmed Silk

The Valentine’s Collection also marks the launch of Skims’ latest sleepwear venture, the ‘Lace Trimmed Silk’ collection. The four-piece collection features a high-leg teddy, cami and short set and a slip dress all in a vibrant pink silk with red lace trim.

Valentine’s Slipper

For the cosier element of V-Day Skims has launched a faux-fur pink slipper, ideal for a comfy night in with the girls.

Latex

We all know that the Kardashians are big fans of latex and Kim only confirmed this further when she added a range in the form-fitting material for her New Year’s Collection last month. Kim is already looking to expand her latex collection by adding a Barbie pink variation to the shelves of Skims in honour of Valentine’s Day.

The Fenty Lovestruck Set:

The Fenty Lovestruck set is your Valentine’s dream come true. The three-piece set of a lacy red long sleeve bra top, open back bikini underwear and a garter skirt speaks for itself and offers something a little bit different from the usual lingerie set. We have paired this look with the Swarovski Gema drop earrings and choker necklace to complement the neckline of the bra top as well as the Constella ring to add a bit of sparkle at the end of the lacey long sleeves.

The Fenty Baroque Butterfly Lace Set:

The Baroque Butterfly Lace set is a two-piece set of a lace crotchless teddy and matching underwear to create a garter-esque look. The Fenty Lace Crotchless Catsuit:

Worn by Bad Gal RiRi herself, the Lace Crotchless Catsuit is a showstopper. The full body catsuit is full of drama and if its good enough for Rihanna, it is good enough for us! The best part about this piece is the heart cut-out detail on the chest that adds a bit of a Valentine’s theme into the look while creating a really flattering neckline. As we didn’t want to take away from this amazing detail we decided against a necklace and instead paired this look with the Large Matrix Heart Hoops to tie in with cut-out. Then we added a sparkling Tennis Bracelet to the wrist to accentuate the sleeveless detail on the catsuit.

The Fenty Renaissance Rose Set:

The Renaissance Rose set is subtle and chic and the perfect set to incorporate into your wardrobe if you don’t want anything too gimmicky. To tie in with this look we opted for more minimalist jewellery, pairing it with the Stilla stud earrings and Heart Pendant. These match the delicate look of the Renaissance Rose set as well bringing out the red details of the rosebuds.

The Fenty Butterfly Wings Lace & Mesh Teddy:

You can’t go wrong with a bodysuit and the Fenty Butterfly Wings Lace & Mesh Teddy is no exception. The dark yet feminine look of this bodysuit is intricately detailed with the perfect balance of sheer black and pops of colour. Not to mention to extra detail that the shape of the lace actually looks like a butterfly! To tie in with the pops of colour in this piece we paired it with the coloured Gema earring and bracelet set.

The Fenty Renaissance Rose Corset Dress:

Because we loved the Renaissance Rose collection so much, here is another gorgeous piece from that selection. The Renaissance Rose Corset Dress pairs perfectly with the Fingerless Gloves as proved by Rihanna herself via Instagram. To allow the dress and gloves to do the talking we paired them with Swarovski’s dainty and delicate Stilla pendant and stud earring set.

]]> Victoria’s Secret documentary has been announced. News of the project, directed by Matt Tyrnauer, who was also behind the documentary “Valentino: The Last Emperor,” was first revealed last year when the documentary was still called “The Rise and Fall of Victoria’s Secret.” The documentary renamed “Victoria’s Secret: Angels and Demons” will premiere on Hulu, on July 14th.

From the early 2000s into the later 2010s, Victoria’s Secret dominated the lingerie market, being the go-to brand for intimates. When it introduced its annual fashion show in 1995, the label rose to meteoric fame, possessing one of the most exclusive and most-viewed runway shows in the world.

The big question is: Will Victoria’s Secret be able to take off again? Following several media scandals and court cases, the American lingerie brand founded in 1977 is struggling to change its image.

Victoria’s Secret is now committed to celebrating diversity in an attempt to survive.

Let’s go back to Victoria’s Secret timeline of a difficult rebranding:

This rebranding began in the summer of 2019, as Teen Vogue just reported: while marketing director Edward Razik was stepping down, a trans woman appeared in a brand campaign for the first time, Valentina Sampaio. 

In March 2021, the brand parted ways with Les Wexner, long-time CEO and founder of L Brands, owner of Victoria’s Secret, and Bath & Body Works. The following month, it began selling its first maternity bras, which was quite symbolic.

And most importantly, in June, the brand announced that they were done glorifying their ‘Angels’. 

Instead, it celebrates the VS Collective: seven personalities, not necessarily models, including footballer Megan Rapinoe, plus-size model Paloma Elsesser, and trans model Valentina Sampaio. In this vein, Victoria’s Secret has also started to display more morphological diversity on its website and in its campaigns, as well as marketing post-mastectomy bras.

In addition to this rebranding, Victoria’s Secret has also launched a podcast called VS Voices and set up a global fund for programs to fight cancers that primarily affect women, such as breast cancer. Victoria’s Secret is thus leading important changes, perhaps difficult to carry out and above all to install in the collective imagination.

The release of this documentary comes at the right time to understand the secrets of this fashion industry giant.

The three-episode docuseries will chronicle how Victoria’s Secret became one of the most popular brands in the world to its downfall. The project will also take a closer look at the company’s longtime CEO, Wexner, and his close ties with Epstein.

Episodes will explore Wexner’s life and how he managed to build a billion-dollar fashion empire; Victoria’s Secret Angels became global superstars and its expansion to adolescents with their brand Pink; and its struggles when they were still part of the L Brands (now known as Bath & Body Works, Inc.) family.

Each will also explore how Wexner and Epstein grew close and how the latter’s weighty allegations contributed to the downfall of Wexner’s empire amid an already shifting cultural and fashion landscape.All three episodes of the series will be available to stream exclusively on Hulu starting July 14.

Lingeries were worn by an incredible cast of diverse models, representing different shapes and sizes, races, genders, sexualities, and disabilities. “Every woman deserves to feel sexy. We are sexy, we are multi-faceted and I want women to embrace that to the fullest”, said Rihanna

This attitude was carried into Vol 2, and the show was even more inclusive and representative of diversity.

Keeping Up Appearances

An element of the Savage X Fenty show we have come to love is the variety of celebrity and model appearances we see throughout. In Vol. 1 we saw the likes of Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Cara Delevingne, and Joan Smalls. A standout modeling performance was when Cara was choreographed along with dancers wearing a green lace set.

We also saw brand ambassador, Normani, take the center stage in an amazing dance performance.

In Vol 2 the runway cast grew, adding Willow Smith, Lizzo, Indya Moore, Shea Coulé, Gigi Goode and Jaida Essence Hall into the mix. We loved the choreographed moment between Indya Moore, Demi Moore, Bella Hadid and Normani, as we watched the stage ooze with diversity and representation, and the cast wore gorgeous sultry sets.

More Than Just A Runway

In both Vol 1 and 2, we have seen world-class performers take to the stage and offer entertainment. We loved Rosalía’s sassy ‘Relación remix’ and TKN’ performance, in which she performed choreography alongside a diverse team of dancers modeling the Savage X Fenty menswear collection.

Another stand-out was Bad Bunny’s ‘Yo Perreo Sola’ performance, a song dedicated to any woman who likes to dance alone at the club.

Exploring Sexuality and Gender

With Rihanna’s inclusivity coming naturally to her, it’s no surprise that we have seen defiant representation for the LGBTQIA+ community so far in her shows. Vol 2 saw a sensational cameo from Pose’s Indya Moore, who identifies as transgender and non-binary.

We also saw show-stopping struts from Drag Race icons Shea Couleé, Gigi Goode.

What we can expect from Vol 3 ?

We’ve been glued to Riri’s Instagram for the past few weeks, seeing what we can gauge from the snippets she has been posting. Yesterday, she shared a video highlighting the event, showing us the personalities involved, clips of fast-paced choreo, and striking looks. Performers will include Daddy Yankee, Nas, BIA, Ricky Martin and Normani. We will also see star-studded appearances throughout the show from Bella Poarch, Emily Ratajkowski, Gigi Hadid, Jeremy Pope, Gottmik, Symone, Troye Sivan, Vanessa Hudgens, and many more.

We also saw show-stopping struts from Drag Race icons Shea Couleé, Gigi Goode.

]]> Kate Moss, the top model ‘par excellence’ of the 90s, becomes the new face of SKIMS, Kim Kardashian’s brand. An all-female pair that in addition to being effectively iconic seems to promise a sold-out future for the collaboration.

All things Y2K have come back with a bang, and this includes the talents of the supermodels who defined the 90s and early 2000s. In a collaboration that combines nostalgia for the catwalks of a bygone era with our modern demand for athleisure, Kim Kardashian has chosen the legendary Kate Moss as the face of her home clothing brand Skims. “I met Kate for the first time in 2014 through Ricardo Tisci and I was immediately impressed by her cheeky humor, authenticity and classical beauty: we have been friends ever since!” Kardashian tweeted to announce the partnership.

During Kardashian’s recent controversial trip to the Vatican, the couple was spotted along with Moss’s model daughter, Lila. “She is the fashion icon, which defines an entire generation of style and I am honored to present her as the new face of @SKIMS this summer!” Kardashian continued on.

Earlier, other famous faces that modeled for Skims included Tiktok star Addison Rae , the Y2K icon and the socialite Paris Hilton, and of course Kim’s sisters Kendall, Kylie, Kourtney and Khloé. The home clothing brand has received a lot of press recently as it has been named the official underwear brand of the United States Olympic team for this year. The launch of the US Team included home clothing, pyjamas and underwear for American athletes competing at the Tokyo Olympics, making Skims the first brand to become an official collaboration with the American team.

Skims has made a lot of likes anticipating a couple of images from the campaign, taken by the photographer Donna Trope, where the supermodel wears some pieces from the Skims collaboration. The ad instead will debut tomorrow on streaming platforms.

These are busy days for the entrepreneur Kim Kardashian. After being placed in the Forbes billionaires’ squad, she started rebranding her cosmetics line KKW beauty. Skims instead, founded in 2019 together with Jens Grede, was talked about in recent weeks, for its valuation at 1.6 billion dollars, and the partnership with the American Olympic team signed in June, as well as the retail expansion plans inaugurated with the opening of a pop-up in Los Angeles.

If you didn’t have any Valentine’s plans, don’t worry, now you do. The SKIMS ‘Fits Everybody Valentine’s Collection’ is dropping tomorrow, and it’s a good one. 

SKIMS launched as a shapewear line in 2018, but it’s grown from strength to strength over the past three years, and now we have access to SKIMS loungewear, underwear, and bodysuits. After the recent restock of the velour collection which lets us live out all of our 2000’s dreams, Kim has blessed us with this brand-new Valentine’s collection.

The collection consists of six different styles; a straight neck underwired bra, a skimpy scoop neck bralette, a scoop neck bra, a strappy back cami, a micro thong, and a regular thong. The collection also has two brand new colour options available; poppy red and cherry blossom pink, perfect for February 14th. 

The thong and scoop neck bra are available in 15 different shades, whilst the rest of the collection is available in the new poppy red and cherry blossom pink and the older, popular sienna brown and onyx black. Can we complain that there are too many options for our bank account to handle?

Kim, Kendall, and Kylie all posed in the latest collection in what was the most jaw-dropping shoot yet. Against a pale pink latex curtain, the three looked stunning in poppy red SKIMS lingerie and gave us some great pics for our Valentine’s day mood boards.

The entire collection is better than we could’ve dreamed of – it’s a limited edition range and it’s definitely the sexiest drop yet. The curve friendly collection is a valentine’s day blessing. 

The ‘Fits Everybody Valentine’s Collection’ is pretty aptly named given the inclusivity that the line brings. With a size range of XXS-4XS. It’s hard to justify not picking up any, right?
