<p><strong>Gucci</strong></p>



<p>Day 1 featured the one and only Gucci kicking off the fun. The runway was designed as two interlocked letter Gs possessing an intense and sinister vibe with a live orchestra playing and the music at a constant crescendo – what are they building to…perhaps the announcement of a new creative director?&nbsp;</p>



<p>The collection itself was inspired by Guccio Gucci and had a very retro Italian aesthetic along with a 70s flair and a bit of the 50s sprinkled in with the dress shapes. The second look was one that stood out with a leather skirt dusting the knees, an oversized vest jacket with large buttons to match, purple heels and a headscarf to complete the look. Purple tights and lime green outfits popped throughout, adding depth to the looks with burnt orange also making an appearance. Horse bit necklaces and accessories were peppered throughout the show and of course fur was not forgotten, along with tweed, tweed, and more tweed. Gucci know the meaning of a classy woman that’s for sure.</p>

<p><strong>Diesel</strong></p>



<p>Oh my gosh, what a way to stand out. Diesel probably had the most unique set design when you look into the story behind it. It was created by a collective of over 7000 people across the world as Diesel sent miles and miles of fabric to art schools and street artists across the US, UK, China, South Africa and Europe to create the street art installation as Glenn Martin strove for freedom of expression. For the looks themselves they were fresh and crisp featuring icy silvers, crisp denim (obviously) with disrupted aspects, a lot of grey and black shades and apparently <em>the crack is back</em>. Bouclé and tweed coats featured here as well in a houndstooth pattern, fur trims featured on oversized bags with full fur options as well pairing perfectly with the denim. Everything was distressed and created a very raw feel.</p>

<p><strong>Blumarine</strong>&nbsp;</p>



<p>Under the new creative direction of David Koma, he showcased a simple yet effective colour palette. Kicking off with Irina Shayk, the audience was served dark romanticism – heavy on the black with a pop of devilish red and a dusting of white with floral patterns. Fluid lace tops and fitted black and white mesh dresses were seen throughout, with denim making a brief appearance, all finished off with silver embellishments and crystal appliqués.</p>

<p><strong>Roberto Cavalli</strong></p>



<p>Fausto Puglisi was inspired by Pompeii for this collection which included rich reds, matching the runway, and paired with leopard print trims. Lace and velvet were intertwined, and he didn’t hold back on the prints – especially florals, which are increasingly becoming more frequent on the runways. Hot lava prints were spilled over the dresses creating a fierce energy on the runway alongside roman motifs with a toga dress and gold leaf straps. Puglisi created a garden scene on the dresses as he dug into Italian garden imagery with pistachio and emerald greens.</p>

<p><strong>Dolce &amp; Gabbana&nbsp;</strong></p>



<p>The runway was kicked off with an army green ensemble paired with black lace and fur trims across the looks. D&amp;G went heavy on the silver chain belts and black was featured a lot – in a sexy boudoir way, along with leather boots and leather coats with a variety of trims – furs, tassels, and jewel embellishments as well. Leopard print was featured once again this season as we have now confirmed it’s been promoted from micro-trend, and denim was not forgotten with double waisted jeans and jackets of course. Look 19 was a standout for Voir, the coat created a dramatic cloud-like effect with its fluffy white texture contrasting perfectly with the structured black boots. Accessories included alien sunglasses and fur bags were a hit, and as the show drew to a close, we were presented with going out styles – silver and jewels were a standout point along with lace and feathers.</p>

<p><strong>Prada</strong></p>



<p>The models opened the show in black dresses as they walked on an elevated runway adorned with a cream floral carpet. Accessible silhouettes and styles were at the forefront of the collection with designs most people can wear and have access to alongside Prada making a statement that tube dresses are on their way back. The whole show nodded towards subtle glamour featuring lots of shirts, oversized buttons, bows making a return, and prominent florals as seen in other Milan shows. Of course, furs weren’t forgotten as the go to coat for this autumn/winter.</p>

<p><strong>Ferrari</strong></p>



<p>Elegant, sleek, and expensive are three words that flawlessly capture Ferrari’s show. The runway was a Ferrari red, setting the scene for what’s to come – we received opulent furs matched with grey suits and red ties in line with the brand’s signature rosso colour. The audience saw a pop of yellow to match Ferrari’s logo paired with burnt orange shoes in a variety of styles, alongside a prominent forest green as the final colour seen on the logo. This was featured on fur trims, coats, and accessories. Ferrari’s innovative recycled Q-CYCLE material was used on the in the looks and the show ended with burgundy leathers, crinkled organza and lots and lots of tassels.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Moschino&nbsp;</strong></p>



<p>Moschino presented us with the trend that is about to surge into our wardrobes – polka dots, featured on dresses, skirts, and jackets. Rigid silhouettes were balanced with bubble skirts, and light, flowy materials on dresses alongside numerous floral print garments. Unique denim designs walked the runway with oversized back pockets on the front and the highest of high waists paired with the classic Moschino belt of course. Alex Consani closed the show with a powerful wake-up call regarding environmental awareness as she carried trash bags representing the waste the industry emits and wearing a t-shirt dress picturing a globe with ‘SOS’ written beneath. She was preceded by two models wearing looks made from a material resembling bin bags, with one holding a globe, mirroring the start of the show where we saw imagery of unfinished garments with exposed stitching sending a message of fast fashion’s process.</p>

<p><strong>Fendi</strong></p>



<p>Fendi marked its 100<sup>th</sup> birthday with a luxurious collection. Sarah Jessica Parker was pictured front row with the Baguette Bag celebrating one of Fendi’s most historic moments of it being featured on SATC as Carrie’s go-to accessory making it a global sensation shortly after. 1920s flapper dresses nodded towards the house’s origins that decade along with lavish furs. Polished leathers were showcased in the form of full-length coats, skirts and unique co-ord with bubble silhouettes in burnt orange, white and black. Belts were heavily used throughout the show to accentuate the waist, plenty of trench-style coats were seen, and jewels were powdered throughout the collection.</p>

<p>Voir Fashion caught up with vintage baddie, activist and author, Hana Mahmood to find out how she created her timeless wardrobe over the last few years. Her excellent eye for finding a vintage designer pairs elegantly with her style as seen on her perfectly curated Instagram and TikTok, both with a large following of eager vintage fans. She collaborated with Voir as we shot her in ‘all Hana approved’ looks. Hana told Voir that her style is currently new-classic as she keeps up with current trends giving herself a bold look and always mixing it with a classic timeless piece. “Whether it’s vintage pieces, vintage jewellery, the way I style my hair and make-up, I love the silhouettes that vintage fashion brings.” Hana loves combining her vintage flair with current fashion because of the contrast that it creates. “I like every outfit I wear to say look at me, and then look again and notice the details.” She prides herself in not blending in and “whether I’m over-dressed – there’s no such thing” she says, the big furs, six-inch heels and mountains of gold jewellery are the main details for her. “I’ma Leo rising, so it only makes sense that I like the attention”, she jokes. <p>It’s Saturday night. Grab the prosecco, jump into your coziest outfit, and make yourself comfortable on the sofa – we’ve got some late-night television watch, this time courtesy of Gucci.</p>



<p>Gucci have been kicking off their centennial anniversary in true style, showcasing multiple collections, a collab with Balenciaga, and now their very own talk show for their newest handbag campaign.</p>



<p>The iconic fashion brand launched the&nbsp;<em>Beloved</em>&nbsp;range this week, featuring several bags from the Gucci archives as well as some clever reimaginings. Under the guidance of designer Alessandro Michele, the campaign for the&nbsp;<em>Beloved</em>&nbsp;range sees Gucci’s handbags paired with some of today’s most famous faces in a talk show setting.&nbsp;</p>



<p>‘The Beloved Show’ is hosted by&nbsp;<em>The Late Late Show</em>’s James Corden, and features the likes of Harry Styles, Dakota Johnson, Serena Williams, Diane Keaton, Awkwafina, and Sienna Miller in the hot seat as they proudly showcase their favourite Gucci bags. The two-minute video clips are packed full of old Hollywood aesthetics (courtesy of Harmony Korine), gorgeous clothing, and that awkward humour that characterises the typical American talk show.&nbsp;</p>

<p>What sets ‘The Beloved Show’ apart from the typical talk show, however, is the star. While we may initially gravitate towards the pretty faces of recognisable celebrities, it’s the bags they hold up to the camera that steal the show. The stars, rather than promote their latest single, film, or sporting achievement, are there to discuss their favourite Gucci bag – and maybe have a giggle or two while they’re at it.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Speaking on this aspect of the campaign, Michele commented:</p>



<p><em>&#8220;We decided to show the concept of &#8216;beloved&#8217; in an ironic way in the campaign, being inspired by the fact that bags are the protagonists in my life and in the lives of many other people… We went back in time to the original TV talk shows, where the protagonist is the bag itself, the big star. Very often these creations are named after influential women who conditioned the habits and customs of many. It&#8217;s precisely because they have great personalities that in the industry we gave them these powerful names; and now we have them in a show and twisted with the idea that there were two stars: the bag and the actual talent. A game of cross-references between the two great protagonists.&#8221;&nbsp;</em></p>



<p>Harry Styles’ full campaign video dropped yesterday. The house ambassador for Gucci was styled in maximalist fashion, donning an oversized fur coat, a patterned shirt, and flared jeans from the brand’s SS21 Collection. At his side, Styles wore his favourite Gucci accessory: the Jackie 1961 bag.&nbsp;</p>

<p>First introduced in the 1950s as the Constance, the Jackie bag was renamed a few years later to commemorate the former first lady of the US, Jackie Kennedy Onassis. The Jackie has since become a house signature and was reimagined by Michele for the Gucci AW20 Collection; the iconic half-moon shoulder bag taking on a new pastel colour palette that simultaneously brought in a new age for Gucci while harking back to its retro roots.</p>



<p>Styles is noted to have taken a liking to the Jackie back in February 2020, after being spotted outside BBC Studios in London with one slung over his shoulder – a true spokesman for the man-bag, if we’ve ever seen one.&nbsp;</p>



<p>In the skit, Styles and Corden spend most of the video awkwardly laughing together at the thought of the host revealing the events of the time he found the singer “quite late at night at the back of that diner.” The bright lights and laughter of the talk show are abruptly cut off as the video pans to the duo sat together in the green room, making awkward small talk as Styles waits for his car to pick him up.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Other stars have similarly awkward interactions with Corden. Dakota Johnson, who wears the Dionysus bag, spends her interview talking over Corden in a clumsy exchange of who-gets-to-talk-first; Sienna Miller, also showing off a Jackie 1961 (this time in GG Supreme canvas), arrives to the show late, eventually wandering on to set just as Corden leaves to find her; and Serena Williams, opting for her favourite GG Marmont bag, tells Corden prior to the show that he can “ask [her] anything”, only to spend her entire segment waving to a roaring crowd as she struts across the stage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>‘The Beloved Show’ is definitely one of the more memorable fashion campaigns of the year, bringing together humour, celebrity power, and Gucci’s typical eccentric quirkiness. Gucci is known for never missing a beat when it comes to its exploration of contemporary pop culture, but this time they unite this vision with staples from the brand’s vault to create a whole new visual language.&nbsp;</p>



<p><em>Beloved</em>&nbsp;is a trend-setting prompt that will no doubt see a growth in the popularity handbags – or in Styles’ case, man-bags – as we head out into the world post-lockdown. In any case, we can only wait excitedly for Gucci to roll out the rest of their campaign clips – stay tuned!</p>

<p>We have all resorted to our love for nature and the outdoors as a result of the current socially limiting measures. There is something magical now about going on a daily long walk, it allows us to appreciate our surroundings and take a moment from the overwhelming reality many of us are facing. Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele has managed to read our mind and nourish this current love of ours through Gucci&#8217;s latest campaign.</p>



<p>Gucci Winter in the Park features Vanessa Kirby, Alexa Chung and Celeste in beautiful vibrant outfits in the enchanting British parks of London. The personalities chosen, images presented, clothing released and tonalities captured encompass many of the feelings one gets when taking the time to go outside and reconnect with nature. It takes us into the winter wonderland of fashion and presents a strong revival of the 60s and 70s style.</p>

<p>Through the comeback of iconic fashion elements we thought we had forgotten about, such as its Jackie 1961 soft leather bag, bell-bottom trousers with strong original patterns and statement oversized sunnies.</p>



<p>The campaign shot by Angelo Pennetta captures the beauty of a winter day showing us the eccentric yet calming style that characterises it, especially in the green walks of London.</p>

<p>The year is ending but the fashion releases seem to continue, just as we thought there couldn’t be any more surprises the highly anticipated collaboration between Gucci and The North Face has finally arrived.</p>



<p>We’ve known about collaboration being in the works since September when the Italian fashion house announced it via a series of intriguing Instagram teasers, however, it is safe to say that no one really knew what to expect out of this contrasting yet exclusive partnership. But as we will agree by just taking a look at the recently released images it is everything we could’ve ever wanted.</p>



<p>The luxurious essence of Gucci, its unique patterns and stylistic elements combined with North Face’s practical and popular designs resulted in a dream combo perfect for this season. The collection includes everything from ready-to-wear clothing such as coats, dresses and jumpsuits as well as items for any adventurer like tents and sleeping bags.</p>

<p>The most fascinating aspect about this collaboration is the extravagant balance reached through a common appreciation for adventure: “The collaboration between Gucci and The North Face celebrates the spirit of discovery by combining the commitment of both brands to promote adventure, real and metaphorical. United by the conviction that travel is often also a self-discovery, the two companies have made use of common stories and values.”</p>



<p>Through 70s inspired designs, the reinvention of the iconic Gucci monogram and the adaptation of North Face’s garments they represent the daring aspect of fashion and encourage hybrids rather than exclusivity, who says you can’t be fashionable when camping or hiking?</p>

<p>But that’s not it, besides providing us with everything necessary to celebrate innovation fashion based on the spirit of exploration the two renowned brands will also be introducing us to an immersive experience through the incorporation of Pokémon Go. The North Face X Gucci collection will be hosting a digital space and have the additional possibility to wear items virtually at the Gucci PokéStops. It may sound unusual but that’s exactly why we love it, nothing attracts us more than a unique shopping experience. What’s better than a combination of one of the most played augmented reality mobile games and the latest collection that comes just in time to help us expand our love for exploring and spending more time in nature.</p>

<p>Fashion is thrilling, expressionist, liberating, inspiring; but fashion can never be truly original. Even for the most creative, imaginative designer like Alessandro Michele, fashion is a rich collage of the past &#8211; each new creation gaining stimuli and adapting ideas from the great designers of years before. We are constantly in an open relationship with fashion, every piece of clothing partially woven with elements of Vintage. Day Six celebrates this. ‘The Vintage Shop’ is a rich festivity of clothes, an appreciation of fashion as an ever-growing, ever-changing art-form. Episode 6 is an exhibition of experimentation and joy.</p>



<p>To reduce the looks of the episode to single elements is to oversimply Gucci and their intrinsic enthusiasm for the artistic power of clothes. Geometric prints whisper of the 60s; earthy neutral colours reminisce of the 70s; embellished denim famous in the 90s; conversational novelty prints popular in the 00s; Gucci’s looks are a rich cocktail of inspiration. Fashion, they seem to say, is open-ended and free. There are no rules for creation and expression.</p>



<p>Standing outside the Vintage shop, entranced by the mannequins, Silvia Calderoni cries. Her relationship with the shop is inferably cathartic, her entrance thus symbolising the dawn of a new consciousness and relationship with clothes. The cinematography of Episode Six mimics a kaleidoscope, skewing the viewer’s perception and controlling their focus, consequently overwhelming their sensory intake. Instantly, we are placed on the same level as Silvia Calderoni: everything we see inspires an awareness of the beauty in creation.</p>



<p>The concept of perspective and seeing is emphasised through Silvia trying on Gucci glasses, all of which form Gucci’s new eyewear collection. As she tries each pair, characters around her rifle through clothes, searching with an eagerness mirroring that of a child playing a game. Fundamentally, this energy instills an excitement into the episode which makes the looks come alive. We see a character wearing a sky-blue midi skirt and embellished balloon-sleeved jumper change into a black sequined gown with elbow-length gloves and heart detailing. We see another character change from a red checked overcoat into a cream checked mid-lined coat with a similar patterned bucket hat. The transformation of the people, as they enter the changing room, speaks to the playfulness of fashion, and positions it as something to be enjoyed and challenged.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Yet beyond this, Gucci once again aligns their fashion purely with fun and experimentation. As we watch each character revel in the shop’s possibilities, we are reminded that Gucci clothing is not static, regimental designs but a relationship between the designer and the wearer, between the creator and the creative.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Dressed in a ruffled sleeve plissé dress with a flounced collar and a broad-brimmed hat, Florence Welch is the episode’s enchantress. As she explores the shop, slipping notes into people’s pockets, she exudes a mysterious aura. ‘With the rain comes secrets’; ‘Honey in the streets’; ‘Tomorrow could be different’: Florence’s surreal notes speak of a romantic alter-ego to ordinary life, inviting the reader to experiment with a new perspective. In this light, Gucci’s collection is perhaps also an invitation to this new perspective, a new life.</p>



<p>‘The Vintage Shop’ is Pandora’s box, brimming with treasures from Gucci’s past and present collections. The myriad of prints and colours and textures – and the subsequent amount of freedom &#8211; is overwhelming; the creative power of clothing is unquestionable. As Gucci invites us into their shop, we enter the playing ground of the designer. Clothes are not just items of clothing… Clothes are things to play with, experiment with, make your own. We must never forget that, Gucci seems to say.</p>
