Karlsson took AVAVAV to notoriety with her transformative footwear, her most famous design being the thigh-high, rubbery, green boots with long toes that went viral across Tik Tok and Instagram. Influencers such as Mia Maples were trying them out, baffled at their wacky toe design which elongated the toes and created a monster/chicken foot at the bottom. Doja Cat then also appeared at the 2021 MTV Awards sporting multi-coloured, thigh-high boots that resembled chicken’s feet at the bottom, which drew attention to the brand with their outlandish design and narrative surrounding human dysmorphia, with the addition of extra-terrestrial or animalistic elements.

The brand’s debut at Milan Fashion Week for their S/S 2023 collection was heavily discussed, with a dramatised runway that saw their models intentionally falling over whilst wearing clothing adorned with dollar signs, the slogan ‘filthy rich,’ and multiple Rolex watches that covered the models’ arms completely.

Karlsson made it clear that this was a commentary on the superficiality of the luxury fashion market and the false belief that wearing luxury brands means a person is superior. AVAVAV’s bold critique made for a memorable debut, garnering attention and much speculation surrounding their next runway show.

For AVAVAV’s F/W 2023 show, Beate Karlsson continued her commentary on the state of the fashion industry, sticking with the critique of the luxury fashion market and creating a runway show titled “Fake it Till You Break It.” This saw the models’ clothes falling away from their bodies as they made their way down the catwalk, with poor stitching and intentional rips on display as a commentary on the decreasing quality of clothing in the luxury market due to uncurbed consumption and demand for luxury goods. To end the show, Beate herself entered to give thanks to the audience when the walls began to collapse around her – marking an extravagant and poignant end to the show.

More recently, AVAVAV’s debuting of their S/S 2024 collection at MFW left the internet rocked, with Karlsson’s collection titled “No Time to Design” which appeared hasty and unfinished, with models in incomplete outfits, or dressing themselves in a rushed manner as they hastened down the runway. Again, Beate continues her discussion surrounding the lack of quality and creativity in the luxury market, parodying luxury brands humorously by implying their designs are rushed and lack creativity in order to keep up with increased demand and consumption.

Their most recent work is a collaboration between AVAVAV and East Pak – “Built to Resist,” combining durability with design as AVAVAV reimagines the traditional bag work of East Pak through multiplication of their designs and deconstruction of their more conventional bag styles. This collab appears a match made in heaven, as both brands are clear with their intentions towards the sustainability of their garments.

AVAVAV makes a strong commitment to upcycling, using scrap materials sourced from renowned brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Jacquemus and continuously using sustainable methods of designing and packaging. East Pak has also made a mission statement surrounding sustainability, aiming to reduce consumption by increasing the warranty on their products to 30 years and attempting to use recycled fabrics where possible.

Their collaboration launch saw their products packaged in rubbish bags and egg cartons, with a theme of ‘trash’ throughout the launch event and runway show as a commentary on the increasing disposability of luxury fashion and the ever-growing number of clothes sent to landfill each year.

Kim has been breaking down boundaries that have been built by society for transgender women since she won her first Grammy in 2023, alongside her co-winner Sam smith. Grammy viewers noticed she was wearing a very identifiable shade of red lipstick during the award show, specifically a Mac lipstick. And just over a year later she’s made the incredible move of becoming one of their brand ambassadors, and on the brands 30^thbirthday.

The campaign depicts Petras in a billion-dollar dress, literally. In the first of the two main campaign images she was dressed in an oversized pink Billion-dollar bill. She wears her signature long blonde Barbie like locks and a Mac signature red lip.  In the second she is buried in a pile of the iconic bullet shaped Mac Viva Glam lipsticks.

The shoot was creative directed by Lele Julianna alongside a talented team of makeup artists and set designers including Gilbert Soliz, Hair by Iggy, Harry Lambert and Thosmas Bird. The extremely talented team pulled together to create this iconic campaign raising $520 Million, the highest achievement of the Viva Glam range to date, supporting communities affected by HIV and AIDS.

The initiative plans to broaden its focus and drive equality across four main areas: Sexual equality, gender equality, racial and environmental equality. The line-up of Iconic Viva Glam ambassadors goes back as far as 1994 including icons line Chloë Sevigny, Dita Von Teese, Fergie and Sia.

Many have said Shakira is channelling another beloved Latin superstar, Selena Quintanilla in the recent video, due to her dancing in a very similar style. Her voice has also reached levels we didn’t think possible, with Rolling stone stating “Shakira’s voice occasionally reaches a peak where it feels like it could bend and snap but it doesn’t – and the results are intrinsic growls, raw and magnetic.”

With one interviewee stating “In Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, Shakira finally gets to turn the page on these tempestuous past two years, and reintroduce herself — not as Shakira the soccer mom, nor Shakira the heartbroken — but Shakira fucking Mebarak, international pop icon and undefeated champ,” The record was portrayed by NME as “her most adventurous album… an empowering comeback. In March 2023, H&M and Mugler shared a music video featuring musicians Amaarae, Shygirl, Eartheater, and Arca performing a remixed version of the 1998 hit song ‘Music Sounds Better With You’, commissioned especially for the collaboration. The original song, by French band Stardust, has been reworked to match the high-energy video, flicking through scenes of models walking through walls, a talk show scene with Casey Cadwallader, the brands’ logos on the Empire State Building, and the singers performing to a filled stadium. This also gave fans the first real look at the collection, with models wearing tailored suits, corsets, cut-out tops, catsuits, star jewellery, mesh trousers, tights, and glitter.

We got to see the collection on supermodels and Mugler muses on Wednesday night, as over 800 guests gathered at the Park Avenue Armory in NYC for the collaboration party. There was music, performance, and, of course, fashion to celebrate the launch of the new collection. Celebrities who had featured in Mugler lookbooks and campaigns made appearances dressed head-to-toe in H&M x Mugler, with the overall aesthetic consisting of a lot of black, satin, and mesh, with silver rhinestone and star details. 

There were individual musical performances from the stars of the music video before they came together to perform the signature song ‘Music Sounds Better With You’. 

There was also a catwalk show featuring models like Paloma Elsesser, Irina Shayk, and Eva Herzivoga, while dancers performed in embellished catsuits. The afterparty featured multiple DJ sets and was a nod to the Mugler house, celebrating dance and club culture. “It was the ideal celebration of the Mugler H&M collection and the perfect way to welcome people into our world— an unforgettable night built around freedom, personal expression, and liberating, bold fashion,” Casey Cadwallader said after the event. 

This is not the first time H&M has done something like this. Previously, the Scandinavian brand has collaborated with Simone Rocha, Giambattista Valli, Moschino, and Erdem, always selling out. A core aspect of these collabs are the elaborate launch parties, like the 2015 Balmain party with a catwalk show, a performance from the Backstreet Boys, and celebrities like Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss, and Gigi Hadid in attendance.

Once in a while, these eternal flames will give us a little something and we’ll go absolutely rabid for it, and we’d be willing to bet the news of this new collection will be a chaos trigger. Whilst the collection doesn’t officially drop until the 9th of November, we’ve done our due diligence and got you covered on all the juicy details…

The new collection is yet another love child of Rihanna and American designer Adam Selman, another jewel in their illustrious history of collaborations together. Selman has previously been involved in some of the most iconic RiRi moments, such as the original Savage X Fenty capsule collection that launched Valentine’s 2020 and that infamous Swarovski naked dress moment that graced the 2014 CFDA Awards and pissed off the remaining two-thirds of TLC.

Functioning as the official executive design director for Savage X Fenty Sport, we have no doubt this new Selman and Rihanna collaboration will be yet another internet-breaking moment.

When asked by Vogue what we can expect from the new collection, Rhianna said: For me, it was about fit and fabric, and I let Adam play with everything else. The pieces are sexy and snatch you, but it’s functional and that’s what describes the whole Sport collection. Sexy. Functional. Fashion,’

The new collection is set to be a ‘perfect marriage’ of lingerie and activewear that’s unlike anything currently available. Features rumoured to be included in the collection are: sheer cut-outs and panels, punchy shades, breathable materials, silhouette-defining wardrobe staples and ‘X’ motifs.

If that isn’t hot shit enough for you, the campaign is a star-studded cast of oiled-up women in supreme form, amongst those: Supermodel Precious Lee, a very pregnant Joanna Pauline, Tiktok star Avani Gregg and all-round-baddie-martial-art-expert Nelita Villezon. The campaign video dropped today to nuclear reactions online and we can’t say we’re surprised – is that new music we hear?

“My starting point for this collaboration with Zara was to ask if it is possible to do a collection that has everything you would ever need in your closet,” Gerber explained of her inspiration for the designs. “If you were travelling and packed an entire collection, could it cover every possible need that you had? I think we’ve achieved that.”

Kaia first took her initial obtrude upon the fashion industry in 2018, releasing a collection co-created with the iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld.

The collaboration represents a completely new breakthrough in Zara’s strategy of elevating its brand positioning. More recently the brand released a new jewellery collection with Elie Top and also teamed up with American designer Narciso Rodriguez for a collection of garments.

The young model was entrusted with designing a collection of “new classics” by the Spanish brand. She paid homage to her home country, the American west coast.  The collection sees beautiful wardrobe staples that reminisce the style of the 90s. The collection includes more than 30 timeless pieces in neutral colours, including slinky slip dresses, chunky knits, and sleek tailoring—all of which are classic designs that have been modernized. The muted tones (grey, white, black, and navy) that take centre stage are heavily influenced by the 1990s. However, there are also hints of Americana in the form of denim and cowboy boots.

Poplin shirts that can be matched with denim jeans and the collection also bodes well for the autumn, featuring woollen and leather coats that can go over one of the recycled polyester sweatshirts. Shoes and necklaces, bracelets, and earrings are also available in this collection. The campaign was shot and photographed in black and white by Fabien Baron, Zara’s frequent creative collaborator.

Kaia Gerber says that she was inspired to create this collection by her mother, Cindy Crawford, a supermodel from the 1990s. She also thought about her friends’ styles and what has inspired her own over the years.

“I wasn’t just thinking about myself when designing. I was thinking about my mom, my friends and everyone I see around me. My style is pulled from a lot of different places and I didn’t want to design something that excludes anyone.”

In collaboration with IL Makiage, Rico Nasty has produced the nastiest (excuse the pun) collection we have laid our eyes on. Visionary Makeup and Daring hairstyles have always been at the forefront of Rico’s creative flair and has bossed some mega beauty looks that have redefined the meaning of taking a risk. Neon pink, punk inspired eyeshadow or artistic liner designs, Rico has been our mentor at teaching us how to master makeup looks we couldn’t dream of.

Featuring a variety of eye makeup, this collab is serious eye candy. The collection with IL Makiage contains two high-impact shadow palettes in Lowfi and Neon Range, a double ended shader brush and both a white and black eyeliner. While the entirety of the collection is enough to make our eyes widen, we are naturally drawn to the vibrant colours and pressed pigments of the two shadow palettes.

The 6-shade pigment palette in ‘Neon Range’ is certainly one for the dauntless makeup fanatics out there. The electric rainbow of colours (we’re talking bright pink, orange, blue) hasn’t come at more of a perfect time as we transition into the autumn months, with the spooky season up ahead. While vivid shades may not be for everyone on the day-to-day, with Halloween up ahead, it leaves us with no excuse to get creative. Going from one extreme to the other, the Lowfi Palette offers subtle, warm toned shades with a burnt orange and range of beige base shades featuring for a more causal eye look. But theres nothing stopping you combining the two. Who isn’t obsessed with a pop ff colour in their inner corner?

With a shade range as energetic as it is, it wouldn’t be a surprise for the packaging to follow suit. We’ve never been told to judge a book by its cover, but on this occasion- I think we can. Rico’s collab is embossed with neon green lettering, skull prints and covered with the indication of a beating heart. Not only on the packaging- but engraved into the eyeshadow pan’s as well. One look at that neon pink and it really does make your heart skip a beat.

Like the rest of us, Rico has not been shy to share her excitement across social media and has been teasing the collection for weeks. Rico got real on her Insta back in August saying, ’IVE GOT A MOTHERF$CKING MAKEUP COLLECTION!!!! Little 15 year old, cant contour for shit, chunky eyebrow me is SCREAMING right now. I’m just happy all those other weird little girls eyeing some makeup, thinking “I’m sh*t, I suck at makeup” that I can give those little kids a product they can grow up with.”

Rico really is re-defining the makeup scene with this collection and is breaking some boundaries like no other. Bringing “Virtual Vividness” has been her way to give back through makeup to inspire a generation of people, no matter their age, race or sexuality, to get creative with the way they look. She’s paving the way for turning makeup into an art form and we cant wait to get involved. We really will be Turing looks with this palette.

Barcelona-born superstar Rosalía is the latest icon to be added to the M.A.C Cosmetics hall of fame as the ambassador of 2020’s Viva Glam life-changing lipstick.

The Grammy award-winning singer took to Instagram to express her excitement to be the inspiration and muse behind this year’s campaign—its 26th year active. She shared, “This campaign has inspired me since I was a young girl because 100% of the lipstick selling price goes towards local organizations to help those living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, supporting women and girls and helping the LGBTQIA+ community.”

M.A.C. has been using Viva Glam as a method of raising awareness and funds for the rights of women & girls, the LGBTQIA+ community and, perhaps most notably, to raise funds for organisations supporting people diagnosed with HIV and Aids. 100% of the proceeds are donated to these causes, and this year $10 million from the fund will go to front line workers, to support them during the pandemic of COVID-19.

This new shade seems extremely versatile and a perfect shade to add to your collection as we enter into the Autumnal months. Look fantastic while supporting a great cause. It’s a win-win, for sure. As a pioneer for originality, self-expression and empowering women through her art, it’s no surprise that Rosalía joins the many faces before her (Lady Gaga, Arianna Grande, Nicki Minaj and many more) to be this year’s Viva Glam ambassador.

The latest Viva Glam lipstick, titled VG26, is an orange-red shade with a matte finish. The vibrant shade reflects the icon’s music style: a vivid blend of flamenco, pop, and electronic. In its 26-year history of bringing us timeless streetwear drops and showering our town in its iconic red and white logo, Supreme New York, the hype fashion brand, has collaborated with the most sought-after luxury make-up artist, the visionary Pat McGrath.

Synonymous with Supreme’s history of turning everyday items into a limited-edition piece, the iconic duo are launching a red with a blue under-tone matte lipstick. Housed in Supremes iconic white-on-red colour palette and embossed with a pair of McGrath gold lips. The perfect emergence of both of the brand’s famous labels.

Named as an ‘iconic red’ by McGrath herself, the new shade will be released in McGrath’s signature MatteTrance formula in a singular shade, appropriately named “Supreme”. While featured in a Matte formula, we are not seeing any dry pouts here. Named as a ‘high-intensity hydrating pigment’ it will give concentrated colour on the lips that won’t be going anywhere. Better yet, it’s will be incorporated as part of the brand’s Fall/Winter2020 collaboration. So, expect to see a lot of red lips on the catwalk this season.

Unsurprisingly, the new drop has created a frenzy for the beauty community across social who are burning to get their hands on the latest drop. While @supremenewyork has kept quite across their Insta, @patmcgrathreal has broadcasted her feed with images and cultured teaser videos expressing the meaning behind the new bold lipstick.

Supreme is iconic for their hot- releases, never failing to sell out in a number of days, so we expect nothing less for this collab. This launch will go far beyond just another collector’s item. It will last in time as Supremes first-ever beauty collaboration.
