You can sense the spirit of commitment and creativity once you cross the threshold of Svedbom’s studio at the heart of Athens – 40 people meticulously working on a whole rainbow of differently coloured crystals, delivered straight from Austria. It gets even more international once you know that Caroline is a Swedish designer – carrying her family’s 120-year-long jewellery business heritage and tons of Mediterranean inspirations.

Having launched her brand 11 years ago, Svedbom has established her firm position in the industry, pleasing us regularly with more and more exciting projects – just this year, made a major contribution to the Swedish Elle-Galan 2024, not only having designed custom jewellery for some of the noble guests, and installing her Crystal Bar with live jewellery-making by @yuri_tsomados, but also – or actually most importantly – showcasing her breathtaking Front Row Collection. The collection felt pure royal and extremely luxurious, with the densely crystal-encrusted chokers and long, princess-like earrings. Voir was more than excited to be invited to Caroline’s studio and to find ourselves literally in the front row, marvelling at all those shiny wonders by Svedbom.

Svedbom’s jewellery is fully handmade, and the nickel, gold, and rhodium used in the process are of superior quality, and regularly tested. You can see Caroline’s absolute devotion to her work, as at some point of guiding us through her factory and talking us through the manufacturing processes, she sits down with the other craftsmen to try one bracelet on herself.
The glittering crystals, which are in countless boxes and drawers all over the studio, end up being used for glamorous necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings, appearing regularly in various collections, including those for men and children.

During the 34th Athens Fashion Week, Svedbom had a chance to present her SS24 collection, with mesmerising green crystals that immediately caught our attention.
In Svedbom’s design, grand colourful or transparent crystals usually play the main role, presenting an abundance of deep colours and glimmering surfaces. But there are also more delicate items, with pearls or minimalistic crystals, as in the latest Resort Collection that dropped on April 25th. You can easily spot Mediterranean summer inspirations there, with minimalistic golden shells, flowers, turtles, delicate chains, and sea-blue crystals.

The Resort Collection comes as a subtle counterweight to the rich and all-shiny Front Row Collection, which preceded it. But at the same time, it still feels most royal and feminine, paying tribute to the Mediterranean heritage and bringing majestic Greek goddesses to mind – after all, we’re still in the Athens FW mood.
Greece has clearly inspired Svedbom in various ways over the years. She’s been involved in different projects, from bridal collections to letter necklaces and even designing vegan leather organisers – but whatever the collection, the Greek culture and landscapes have always been at the very centre. And we just cannot wait to see what other inspirations still wait there for Caroline to be discovered and made into glittering pieces of art.
