The Spooky Season’s Best Dressed A-Listers

The month of October means one thing and one thing only … the spooky season is upon us! As the days get colder, the evenings get darker, and Halloween draws closer, we couldn’t be more excited to get dressed up and celebrate the spookiest day in the calendar. From sexy to scary and everything in between, there is no doubt that when it comes to Halloween dressing, the celebs just do it best!

So if you’re in need of some Halloween inspiration, come with us as we take a look back through some of the best celebrity Halloween looks from over the years.

Halima Aden as Maleficent

While Halloween is certainly all about the dress-up, as proved here by Halima Aden, who showcased fierce horns, a dramatic feathered neckpiece, and mesh wings, the makeup is just as important! Striking red lips, a winged eye, and piercing blue contact lenses can help you achieve a theatrical Halloween look fit for a movie set.

Anok Yai as Storm

Taking on X-Men’s Storm, Anok Yai was the ultimate eerie goddess at Heidi Klum’s 2019 haunted house. A simple white body was adorned with chains, lace-up boots, and a wild mane of hair that blasted the model into the center of attention.

Nothing rings the bells of the frightful night quite like an all-leather look. This fierce black ‘fit dominates from head to toe and seamlessly encapsulates everything that Halloween stands for.

Lupita Nyong’o as Dion from Clueless

Movie dress-up is a classic Halloween go-to. Lupita perfectly reimagined Dion from the 90s classic, Clueless, through details, details, details. An exaggerated cellphone, knee-high socks, and a micro bag were just some of the accessories that accompanied the trademark skirt and blazer.

Rihanna in pink skeleton makeup and black patent leather

If you want to let your face do the talking on October 31st then opt for a straightforward yet eerie black patent outfit that invites fear in the form of makeup. Rihanna’s full-faced pink and details around the mouth give the creepiest illusion of a scary skeleton.

Kendall Jenner as Powerpuff Girl

Who said Halloween had to be all scary? Certainly not Kendall, who looked striking in a green and black Buttercup-inspired ‘fit back in 2017. Slicky black hair and a striped top half successfully mastered the Powerpuff vibe, while the spiked choker and multi-chain belt give this look a sharp edge…literally.

Demi Lovato as Selena Quintanilla

As a tribute to the late, great Selena Quintanilla, Demi Lovato recreated the singer’s infamous outfit from the Houston Astrodome concert in 1995. Paying homage to the star in a sparkly red jumpsuit, Demi dazzled with a criss-cross cut-out and bell-bottom flares. Oh, and not forgetting the classic bangs which were sported by Quintanilla for most of her career.

Beyonce, Jay Z and Blue Ivy as Barbie and Ken

If you’re planning a couples costume, look no further than Beyonce and Jay Z as the real-life Barbie and Ken. With a range of different barbie doll-inspired outfits to chose from, you can really make this look your own. Don’t forget the makeshift plastic box that will make this look scarily real. The addition of Blue Ivy as a mini Barbie is super cute too. Family goals!

Kylie Jenner as Christina Aguilera

Halloween is the best time to dress up as your favourite celebrity icon. Think musical legends, Hollywood stars and even 90s supermodels. In 2019 Kylie Jenner gave us her best “Dirty” Christina Aguilera with bleach blonde locks, faux piercings, and bikini and chaps. Xtina is shaking.

Kylie Jenner Power Power Rangers group

For a look with the gang, what better way to play dress-up than to recreate each of the power rangers but with a sexy spin. From blue and green, to red and yellow, to pink and black, there is a colour for you and each of your pals, making this an easy to achieve group Halloween look. Kylie’s clan wore skin-tight bodysuits, accessorized with brightly coloured wigs and sunglasses to match.

For some more Halloween inspiration, here are a few of our favourite ideas for you to play around with:

Carrie Bradshaw:

If you’re Sex and the city obsessed (and you can’t wait for the reboot coming any minute now!) then a Carrie Bradshaw-inspired look is your go-to this Halloween. In true Carrie style take a feathered tulle skirt, paired with a little pink cami and some statement shoes to achieve this stylish 90s look. Not forgetting the wild head of hair!

Naomi and Kate

Forget the spooky season, Naomi and Kate were, and still are, every seasons best dressed A-Listers! These iconic metallic minis will have you show-stopping at every Halloween bash this month, sparkling just the right amount of nostalgic charm.

The Matrix

If there isn’t someone dressed as if they are starring in The Matrix then did Halloween even
happen? Let it be you, a full length black leather trench coat, some heavy stompers, and a pair of
shades and you have mastered The Matrix in three simple steps.

Mean Girls

There’s nothing quite as scary as Regina George and her evil one liners. So, who better to dress
up as than the Mean Girls themselves! Mini skirts and heels are the ultimate mean girl uniform.
Halloween might not fall on a Wednesday this year but you can still wear pink!
