Michaela Jaé Rodriguez Is Becoming A CK Girl.

“Confidence to me means having a definite self-assured trust within yourself—when it’s at its highest, it’s hard to shift the weight of its presence”

– Michaela Jaé Rodriguez in an interview with ELLE Magazine

There are some unexpected twists in Calvin Klein’s Fall 2022 campaign, featuring a global cast in real settings. With its latest Underwear and Jeans, this collection of original essentials is updated for today’s lifestyle.

Shot and directed by Alasdair McLellan, the cast is photographed in the latest styles, elevated custom-made for the season. Designed to reflect the brand’s stripped-back aesthetic, the photo stills capture a range of actors, models and writers’ true confidence, with modern and minimal elements.  The stars are filmed crossing paths in a Calvin Klein universe where routines are anything but basic.

A campaign about confidence

Calvin Klein’s fashion campaigns are among the most iconic in the world.

Being selected by Calvin Klein to rock jeans and underwear in a campaign has stood for more than simply modelling the items. Each model is honoured as an inspiring creative, celebrated for their strength and confidence.

In this year’s campaign, Blackpink’s Jennie was joined by models Precious Lee and Rianne Van Rompaey, along with Susan Sarandon, some of the biggest names in the industry.

A standout of the cast is Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, an actress with a strong voice in her own right. The actress, who started her career in theatre, starred in FX’s hit drama Pose, which featured the biggest cast of transgender actors in television history. Not only was she nominated for an Emmy for her nuanced and outstanding portrayal of HIV-positive trans woman Blanca Evangelista, but she was also the first transgender woman to have been awarded the Golden Globe.

The denim brand evolved

This year the brand whittled down its tried-and-true assortment of essentials for its fall campaign. As we continue to say goodbye to the skinny jean and embrace more utilitarian, relaxed silhouettes, the new modern cotton basics have been updated with softer fabrics.

The campaign features new underwear and loungewear styles such as Embossed Icon, which features the signature logo reimagined in a repeating embossed design, and Bonded Flex, which offers wire-free comfort with innovative support in a seamless knit. Both products are made from recycled materials. This season sees iconic style modernized including a one-shoulder bralette, as well as new shades and cuts made from sustainably sourced fibres. Jeans are elevated with utility details, dynamic textures, and updated proportions reminiscent of the ’90s. Originally designed denim, now evolved.
