“When I hear ‘jeans and a nice top’, two things stand out to me. One is that it’s really accessible. Most people own a pair of jeans and will have nice tops in their wardrobe. It doesn’t feel scary or intimidating.” Charithra is, of course, right. Our obsession with the paring is exactly why it’s experiencing a mass renaissance, fast-tracking itself to the top of our fashion wish lists this Christmas. Charithra also remarks on how effortless the choice is to return to time and time again, which makes her love it all the more: “It can easily be dressed up or down. So, for me, it’s a winning combination.”

These three looks make up the ingenious capsule wardrobe that Charithri counts on to keep up with her busy schedule. “It’s super convenient,” she says of her choice to always stick to a strict number of staple pieces. “Because of work, I’m travelling a lot, so I’m really living out of a suitcase. It’s imperative that I have a small number of items that can mix and match between them and create a variety of looks for different events, be it chilling with friends or going to a picnic.”
