Bella Hadid is bringing her New York City street style across the pond and is giving us major inspiration as the weather grows colder in London. Her styling choices provide good advice for Autumn – layering for warmth, a chic all-black look, and borrowing men’s clothes for a more comfortable silhouette.
Bella offers a cosy, comfy look as we enter the cold winds and rain showers of Autumn. The quilted coat is practical and chic, offering a different texture and print to long wool or trench coat. The practical coat is elevated by accessorising. A vibrant, patterned scarf is the perfect addition to a long, chic coat – definitely something to keep on hand during random rain showers and days were the windswept look is not working. Funky glasses in a bright colour is another great addition to this look.
Autumnal colours, multiple blazers, and an Anne Boleyn necklace are all included in this London look. Pairing caramel and chocolate brown with black and white simply can’t go wrong – this colour combination is perfect for a casual everyday look that easily transitions to night time dinners. Also, pairing a blazer with a leather jacket may be the trend of Winter – perfect for moving from work to casualwear, adding a more relaxed jacket on top of a professional blazer easily dresses down a formal suit.
Entering Autumn, it’s important to remember that an all-black outfit is always chic. Bella pairs a simple leather jacket (a staple already in most of our wardrobes), with loose black trousers and a graphic t-shirt. Pairing monochromatic basics in your wardrobe is a simple go-to look, which can be easily layered without having to worry about colour combinations.
Dark earth tones and oversized pieces is here for Autumn. Bella’s New York streetstyle is embodied in this look, transferred for London practicality. 1990s minimalism is inspiring Bella, in a long leather trench and baggy low-waist trousers in neutral tones. Pairing the masculine jacket and trousers with a short, black top in a corset silhouette creates a balance between the heavy, draped leather and excessive nylon trousers. Stay warm this Autumn with a big coat, heavy trousers and a smaller top for a more striking silhouette.
Sharing photographs from her day out in London, Bella poses in unique vintage jeans and a black, lace bustier top – adding a more delicate fabric like lace or silk perfectly contrasts heavy denim or leather. Bella is a master of layering for Autumn without sacrificing your outfit, opt for open layers on top, so as not to cover any pieces. Also, don’t forget to add some accessories, like Bella’s square pendant, opal heart choker, and an array of chunky and fine rings.
