Decoding The Best Street Styles From Milan Fashion Week

As Milan Fashion Week comes to an end, we take a moment to reflect on the new season’s trends and standout moments. The ‘Fendance’ show took us all by surprise, Dua Lipa made her runway debut, and Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss joined Gigi Hadid back on the catwalk. Inspired by the amalgamation of street style outfits and makeup looks, we put together some of our favourites:

Leonie Hanne

For one of her street style outfits, Leonie Hanne went with a stunning multicolour Emporio Armani fur coat on top of a silky black bralette and dark purple palazzo trousers. She accessorised her outfit with this year’s favourite green Bottega Venetta bag, a pair of purple pointy heels from her latest collaboration with Liu Jo and of course tinted purple shades. Subtle jewellery with slick hair is her signature combination; this time she went with none other than a classy low ponytail and a thin gold necklace. As always she demonstrated the elegance of simplicity and impeccable colour coordination.

Dua Lipa

The star of this season’s Versace show attended the ‘Fendance’ special event wearing a black-brown open back dress and a pair of matching high-heeled sandals. The sparkly Fendi monogram fabric along with the ’60s inspired Versace cut allowed for her slim figure and skin tone to stand out. The V neck-style opening, displaying her cleavage, further enhanced her feminity and glamorous aura. With short waves and slightly side-swept hair, simple smoky eye shadow and pink nude lipstick, Dua Lipa truly shined.

Addison Rae

TikTok sensation Addison Rae wowed the crowd at the SS/22 Versace Show in a hot pink assemble; a mini dress, matching bubble-gum tights and platform satin pumps. She truly glowed in this playful colour as she worked her camera angles before the show. Her hair was tied back with glossy barrettes and her makeup complimented the outfit: pink under eyeliner, subtle nude lipstick, and of course pink blush.

Chiara Ferragni

Chiara Ferragni made several appearances at the Milan Fashion Week. Here, she was spotted in an all-Prada outfit. She paired a blue turtleneck sweater with contrast yellow jacquard with a matching yellow mini skirt, a pair of Napa leather platform boots and a triangular Prada handbag. The architectural shape of the boots and the bag contrasted the fabrics of the top and skirt but at the same time made them look futuristic. The look was a curious combination of modern aesthetics and ’60s retro vibes, making her reflect this season’s themes and styles.

Valentina Ferragni

Valentina Ferragni took ‘monochromatic’ to the next level. Rocking an all-Fendi look she made brown-beige relevant for every age. She wore a cropped turtleneck with shorts cinched at the waist and thin logo tights. For accessories, she went with the new beige Fendi First clutch, a pair of high-heeled boots and a golden chain. Her makeup and hairstyle were simple and effective. The golden-brown eyeshadow matched the shade of the boots and made her blue eyes stand out. The choice of wearing her hair down – in wavy natural curls – made her autumnal look more casual.

Alexandra Pereira

Alexandra Pereira showed us it’s ok to be in a hurry when you want to make it to Prada! The Spanish blogger turned up at the Prada SS/22 show in a green corduroy oversized coat with a black turtleneck and a violet button-placket knitted polo shirt underneath. She paired these with a black pleated midi skirt, white heeled pointy boots and a Saffiano bag. The leather pouch gloves made her outfit elegant but also appropriate for the winter season.

Karina Nigay

Before the Maison Margiela show, Karina Nigay chose to wear denim on denim: a dark blue deconstructed skirt by The Empty Industry, a cropped white long sleeve shirt and a washed off denim vest. For footwear, she went with a pair of Adidas Superstars by Beyonce and white plain socks. The Celine denim shoulder bag complimented the skirt and added that perfect ‘trendy-cool’ finishing touch. Her look was very much representative of today’s streetwear trends, but also referenced avant-garde runway looks from the early 2000s.

Caroline Daur

Caroline Daur bought us, Valentino, with a classy all-black outfit perfect for any occasion. The fashion blogger wore a short black skirt, an organza top with bishop sleeves and a lace bralette underneath. She combined these with a pair of rubber high boots and a stud sign grainy calfskin shoulder bag. Classy and chic, all-black continues to be an all-time favourite and a go-to for fashion week street style looks.

Jaimie Xie

Jamie Xie also attended the Prada show. She wore the yellow corduroy puff-sleeve oversized coat we’ve seen all over Instagram for the last couple of months. The American businesswoman rocked the statement piece with a pair of bright blue high-heeled boots and a white Prada Cleo leather shoulder bag. Her hairstyle references the 2000s trends, and she took it to Instagram to share the inspiration behind her whole look – Big Bird. Her long nails complimented the colour palette of her outfit and made her look modern and fearless.
