2021 marks the 93rd annual Oscars ceremony. Highlights of the night included Nomadland winning the Best Picture award and Chloé Zhao making Academy Award history as the first Asian women to win the Best Director. The 93rd Oscar’s was a night you didn’t want to miss. The Los Angeles based event was scaled down to suit covid measures yet; it was a refreshing return of a much-missed red carpet. Celebrities got the chance to exhibit their gowns and suits (jumpsuits in Stanfield’s case) at an IRL event, ensuring the fashion game were strong.

Regina King: Volume Up Top

Opening the ceremony, Regina King graced the carpet with a wow-factor Louis Vuitton gown. Embellished with intricate bejewelled details, vertically arranging along her dress, this powder blue moment is one to remember. Her dramatic sleeves are structured amazingly, giving volume and establishing a contemporary spin on the classy shoulder pad aesthetic.

Zendaya: Yellow but Bling

Brightening up the carpet, dressed head to toe in a sunny yellow, Zendaya wears a custom Maison Valentino, Jimmy Choo and Bulgari Jewels. The floating train and cut out stomach details brings summer, whimsical vibes to spring. To enhance this dress to a sophisticated Oscar-appropriate level, Zendaya blings up with look with some jaw-dropping jewels.

Halle Berry: A Magenta Moment

Oozing with confidence, Halle Berry’s bold magenta gown was an eye-catching phenomenon. Her posing and confidence enhanced this dress to another level. The flowing fabric of the custom LaQuan Smith gown had depth with dramatic bow detailing, fit for a night like the Oscars, she was truly the Queen of the carpet.

Carey Mulligan: As Gold as an Oscar

Carey Mulligan’s Oscar look somehow pulled off the crop top and skirt combination. Defying the casual connotation with a two-piece set, Mulligan’s floor length Valentino gown ensured she looked like royalty at the ceremony. The gold two-piece set added a fun and modern spin to the traditional ball-like silhouette. The Best Actress nominee shined brightly with her rich and luxurious fabric, emulating an Oscar itself.

Andra Day: Vivacious in Vera

Andra day took the carpet by storm in a Gold Vera Wang gown, accessorised with dainty Tiffany & Co. Jewels. This metallic and slinky dress shows off Andra’s figure with a high leg slit and cut out detail.

Margot Robbie: Banging Outfit

Margot Robbie attended the 2021 Oscars debuting her blunt bangs, wearing a full-length floral Chanel gown; she kept her look simple and sweet. Embracing the paired back, minimalist aesthetic, Robbie looked as elegant and classic as ever.

Amanda Seyfried: Red on Red

Amanda in Armani Privé, rocked the red on the red carpet. This classic Hollywood gown with a dramatic silhouette with amazing tulle texture has been spiced up with a plunging V neckline. The minimal to no jewellery on Seyfried insinuates this literally speaks volumes as a stand-alone item.

H.E.R: Blue Beads

Winning Best Original Song at the Oscars 2021, H.E.R exhibits a Dunas outfit along with Chopard jewellery. Her Blue beaded ensemble is a vibrant and classy approach. The long and waved hair coupled with pink circle sunglasses modernise the fit, adding personality and flair to her look.

Emerald Fennel: Glamorous in Gucci

Laverne Cox cannot be missed with her Siriano gown and Cicada jewellery. Looking like a piece of art, this stunning gown could belong in a gallery as well as the Oscar’s. The simplistic straps that expose Cox’s back, balances out the gathering and vibrant tulle. Structured beautifully on her lower half, it adds dimension and movement to her outfit, bringing this dress to life.

Lakeith Stanfield: One Piece Wonder

Best Supporting Actor nominee, made an immense impression at the Oscar’s with his unique and quirky choice of a Saint Laurent jumpsuit. Sporting major seventies vibes, his cool and effortless open collar paired with a subtle chain beneath ensured the Judas and the Black Messiah actor stole the show with this chic ensemble. Stanfield is definitely up there with one of the best looks of the night.
