Amina Muaddi x Wolford: Celebrating Contemporary Femininity

From the dialogue between the young designer Amina Muaddi and the Austrian brand emerged new exciting pieces that wrap the body like second skin and explore all the declinations of sensuality at its finest.

We cherish so much the collaborations that can boast the achievement of an aesthetic value whilst being able to transcend the passage of time and value its timelessness. This is the case with Wolford, which embraces skin to skin designs and high quality, which became their raison d’être; together with Amina Muaddi, the trendsetter and shoe designer, who is the symbol of a young entrepreneurship that draws from the historical craft and tradition to help develop new, innovative design ideas.

From the encounter between the iconic Austrian brand and the most glamorous promise of the Made in Italy emblem, the 17 models of the new capsule collection for summer 2021 are born. In the midst of an extremely contemporary conversation, the collection – shot exclusively by Roger Weiss – celebrates the infinite declinations of femininity, thanks to garments and accessories that truly wrap the body like second skin.

As stated by Silvia Azzali, CCO of Wolford: “Wolford has always firmly believed in the innovative potential of collaborations that surely enrich our products and challenge the boundaries of our experience. The creativity and Amina Muaddi’s gaze in the present moment represents for us an important stimulus that allows us to explore contemporary femininity and offer today’s women garments through which they can express their identity”.

It was surely a challenge, that of representing contemporary femininity, from which Amina Muaddi and Wolford emerged victorious. United by the shared mission of enhancing individual beauty and encouraging the safety of women, they used their mutual expertise to inspire a creative dialogue for all those who express themselves with audacity and want to affirm their sensuality between refinement and self-confidence.

Thus, in a perfect synthesis of 9 legwear products and 8 ready-to-wear items, the special capsule collection presents sheer tights with smart slits between the fingers, enveloping the body with leggings that fit to perfection. There are also latex leggins; together with a sinuous catsuit – a growing trend, that of the tight suits – with built-in shoes. The looks are adorned with mandarin collars and also include 4 extra tight minidresses, ready to reveal the body through short cuts, intriguing slits and cut-out details.

The precision of the fittings is impeccable and sensual at the same time, with premium materials and details such as latex, lace, viscose jersey and vegan leather, which are all the protagonists of the latest collaboration undertaken by Wolford. Lastly, as if the collection wasn’t luxurious enough, a shower of small Swarovski crystals was applied by hand on a pair of fishnet stockings.

“I have always been a customer and a fan of Wolford, a brand that for me represents the best quality legwear and bodywear, and a symbol of refined femininity. When they contacted me for this collaboration, I accepted without thinking twice, feeling absolutely connected with the DNA of the brand and the commitment it puts in the realization of such excellent products. I like to create contemporary garments that increase the trust of the people who wear them, and I believe that thanks to this collection we were able to realize our shared vision” says Amina Muaddi.

The objective of the extraordinary collaboration takes shape, from a positively distorted perspective, in the photographs of the campaign. Created by Roger Weiss, the images capture the beauty of the female body in its most secret aspects and in its most hidden corners. As the photographer says “Wolford’s fabrics enhance the lines and authenticity of the woman and Amina’s shoes are pedestals anchored to the ground that extend the models in height by joining the two floors from which I build my female architectures”.

The worldwide launch of the collection will involve the opening of 4 exclusive pop-ups. The exhibition layout of the exclusive stores was designed by the collective of Milanese architects Studioboom: an elegant “Body Laboratory Research” by the visionary interior design and the high-tech soul. The collection is also available on the Wolford.com website, in the brand’s official stores, and at selected retailers. Here are our favourites from the collection:
