Queen of makeup, Kylie, was seen embracing classic and sophisticated Parisian style in her makeup look for the Schiaparelli show. The gorgeous Mae showed her sophisticated side
in Paris this week, bringing a cat eye to the
catwalk done with expert precision using a pencil
to achieve a slightly softer, blurred effect.
Drawing the eye outward with a parallel waterline
flick created an elongated effect and with
prominent eyelashes, a Tim Burton-esque vibe is
achieved, the perfect deep look for autumn.
Natural, fluffy eyebrows in a cool, lighter shade
complement the look by playing a submissive role, not drawing attention from the dramatic eye. A deep brown lip is making us swoon and the blurred lip line, having the appearance of just being kissed, is a soft but daring touch.

Receiving the Alexander Echeverri treatment in Paris this week, the gorgeous Normani is bringing smoky back in expert cool toned, matte eye look. In a new highlight technique for autumn, precision takes new meaning in the simple yet jaw dropping highlight along her nose which isn’t seen on the cheekbones, a usual highlight staple, with the rest of the complexion being matte and natural. Grunge queen Gabbriette has been channelling Y2K in this subtle yet nostalgic look. Her thin brows are the centre of attention, minimally filled and accentuated with a pop of slightly shimmery highlighter around the brow bone. With little bronzer and blush in the look, the complexion is heavily dependent on a good quality, skin like foundation and concealer to emulate the natural skin while giving a sheer, luminous coverage. The perfect nude pink has also been used to enhance her natural pigment, but not overwhelm the look.

Gabbriette’s dark look

In a more dramatic variant of Gabbriette’s
flawless base, she explores how a bold smoky eye
is the perfect homage to Parisian fashion,
producing an air of sophistication around an
edgy, grunge look. The charcoal lid shade
features some prominent blue undertones and is
bluntly dragged across the lid and town to the tear
duct. Softening the look and producing the

For the Dior show at Paris this week, the iconic
Brenda was seen in a natural ‘woke up like this’
complexion with a gorgeous berry lip. The low-
coverage foundation gave her an airbrushed look
while remaining light and almost transparent on the
skin, acting as a subtle colour corrector on her
porcelain skin. The slightly pink shade around the
eyes, particularly on the water line, ties in with the
berry lip to give the look a sense of ‘completeness’
as the berry shade appears at the top and bottom of
the face creating a sense of unity. Complete with her full, fluff brows, we’re loving how she’s embracing her freckles and showing the world you don’t need layers of high coverage, removing uniqueness, to be beautiful.

Spotted in Paris embracing a blue eye shadow with a modern twist is Jordan at the Balmain show. The sheer blue with slight shimmer on the eye brings a pop of colour to her deep brown eyes, and a perfectly sculpted brow sits strongly above to combine the neat and playful. model Jourdan Dun for the Balmain show at Paris
Fashion Week. In completely flawless beat, we’re
stunned by the creaseless blending of the base which
seamlessly blends into eyeshadow. The lighter toned
concealer adds a natural highlight to the face, namely
undereye, chin, and nose, without an overpowering
shimmer. The sharp eyeliner has been buffed with
eyeshadow into a smoky effect towards the outer crease to create a blurred cat eye, and the tight liquid line defines the eye with expert precision, and an extremely steady hand! The lip, as we’ve seen a lot this season, utilises a dark liner around a natural shade and that glass-like gloss gives the perfect shine.

Juicy Couture is back and it’s back in true Y2K style with an unexpected nod to the ever iconic
80s. With their 2021 Spring/Summer revival campaign a huge success, Autumn/Winter is here to
take a trip down memory lane right back through to the brands heyday, unveiling classic velour
sets and diamanté encrusted underwear, Juicy is here to add just a touch of ice. The collection
launches today, right in time for the cooler months ahead.


So what’s new this season and what will you find from the collection? Taking athletic influence
from the rink, head designer, Amy Gibson reveals how the vintage 80s undertones of figureskating outfits from the past were a huge inspiration for the collection. In the hope of creating cool
and contemporary pieces for the AW21 season, the infamous tracksuit set, popularised by the
likes of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, can be found in an updated style and sported in cooltoned shades like baby blue, turquoise and purple, alongside sweats plastered with the royal
Juicy logo. A nostalgic look back to the era that gave Juicy its name, monogrammatic prints have
made an appearance, while a tribute to the now provides graphic print tees and all over tie-dye,
proving Juicy Couture is just as juicy now, as it was back then.


Taking just the right amount from the early 2000s (the style and vibe were supreme …) but sticking
with the diversity they were praised for in their last drop (… the inclusivity was not), the AW21
collection goes from size XXS all the way through to XL and the campaign rightfully celebrates
women of each and every size, shape and race – how 2021 of them!

For the fashionable inhabitants of the original Y2K era, Blumarine was a brand that elicited pure jubilant fun. The flirty florals and animal prints mixed in with colourful feathers and fur brought a vibrant look that teetered the line between daywear and clubwear, and everything joyful in between.

And now the glorious look of Blumarine is back, and stronger than ever. The brand’s use of colour and embellishment continues to be celebrated today with their famously fun styles — but it’s fitting for a brand that is so associated with their semi-official icon of the butterfly to break out beyond any cocoon. Today in 2021, the brand’s Creative Director Nicola Brognano has innovated the Blumarine look, by doing things such as placing fur in experimental places such as fuzzy blue hoop earrings and creating logo-fied blinged-out maxi belts — adding a modern perspective to the brand’s lush aesthetics.

The brand’s surge of popularity makes perfect sense. The adoration of Blumarine goes far and wide, much like many other icons of the Y2K era who are going through a current renaissance— from Victoria’s Secret and Juicy Couture amongst the labels refreshing their looks for the modern world.

And this time around, Blumarine has something else new fuelling its popularity — social media. The Blumarine look is downright booming with Gen Z on TikTok (with the hashtag #blumarine receiving 1.9 million views on the app), and the label’s recent runway looks have been spotted on Instagram on Kim Kardashian, Chiara Ferragni and Bella Hadid, who donned a yellow fur asymmetrical Blumarine top just days ago.

Just launched for 2022, the brand describes their latest collection as “New Romanticism – modern, sensual, mischievous” on their website. All of the looks marvellously capture the spirit of the brand, which they describe as “[having] many facets as the petals, and thorns, of a rose.” This spirit, mixed in with vibes of Y2K pop-star pastel slick shininess and adorned with furs and prints, creates a glowing new look that feels romantic and rebellious at the same time.
