Delving into your past isn’t always a good thing when it comes exes, but this ‘ex’ cover is definitely one to cause a stir. Talking to the Voir creative director, Luke Walwyn we found out more about the spectacular issue 17 cover.

Luke: For the shoot we wanted to create a story of the emotional stages of a breakup as a backdrop to the fashion. Chloe Jasmine was ideal for this role as we required a large element of method acting. She had to bring believable emotions to this shoot so that the reader could identify with each stage and create a truly captivating and believable performance for the cover of Voir. Chloe Jasmine really conveyed the emotions in such a raw way that it was totally believable. We were almost living and breathing every emotion she was feeling.

Here is each stage of a breakup as told by Studio Voir and the meticulous, Miss Jasmine.

1. The Breakup –

Chloe was feeling raw emotions and was therefore able to convey those feeling to the camera.

2. Shock –

Clever makeup and a convincing gaze captured this mood.

3. Anguish –

The polaroids and the empty bottle really emphasise the feeling of anguish along with Chloe’s body language.

4. Anger –

This was a frightening performance from Chloe who managed to nail the emotion of anger and a woman consumed with rage.

5. Revenge –

With the help of Noah Sparnon, Chloe was able to play a beguiling role armed with a wry smile

6. Rebound –

A gaze of indifference nailed the rebound scene which became a masterstroke of emotions.

7. Over-indulgence –

Chloe confidently introduces an element of playfulness to a spending spree of comfort.

8. Freedom to be me –

It was Chloe who played with the dynamics of the location and on the giant window sills to introduce the element of ‘freedom’ from the constraints of a suffocating relationship.

9. Totally Over It –

Laughter and playfulness again captured the essence of the emotion of being over a breakup.

10. Here’s to the Future –

Chloe had so much fun with props and accessories to introduce the message of looking forward to a new life.

Team Voir recently collaborated with the rising stars girl group M.O to capture the essence of Autumn/Winter 2018-19. The collaboration, involving Makeup London Academy, Studio Voir, Lookers Mercedes Benz and the 3 talented artists of M.O, saw a photographic shoot take place in the heart of London for Voir Fashion Magazine Issue 22.

Co-ordinated and styled by Jyoti Matoo [Editor-in-Chief and head Stylist of Voir Fashion Magazine] the collaboration continues to raise the profile of the digital magazine which has been inspired by and featured such talent as singer/songwriter Raye; UK Grime artists D Double E, Mist, & Lethal Bizzle; Chloe Jasmine and Tom Zanetti.

The creative team at Studio Voir teamed up with Slaters Menswear and Formal Hire in the autumn, to create a spectacular James Bond-esque fashion story for its online readers. As far as fashion editorials go, this storyline surpassed all of Studio Voir’s expectations in that it pulled in some commercial heavyweights to add an air of authenticity and class.

Take JCT600 – Aston Martin, Heli-Jet Aviation, Victoria Gate Casino, The Woodlands Hotel, Anita Massarella Couture, Tom Zanetti, Boss Model Management and Slaters Menswear, and you could quite easily mistake this for an Ian Fleming production.

Zanetti led the cast as an avid agent, suited and booted to give an air of sharp sophistication with a usual array of grown-up toys. Against a backdrop of a helicopter launch pad, a slick hotel, an Aston Martin Vanquish S and a casino, Tom, flanked elegantly by Lydia and Calla rose stylishly to the occasion. The shoot was imagined by Jyoti [Voir’s Editor-in-Chief and head stylist] and photographed by Luke [Voir’s Artistic Director and Photographer].

A cross between 007 and the Man From U.N.C.L.E, the Man From S.L.A.TR really brought the clothes to life, and delivered a most convincing story. Luke and Jyoti wanted the clothes to take second stage and the editorial to be like the best trailer for the finest movie never made. With excellent makeup from Stacey Borg and hair styling from Kymberley Holmes, Studio Voir were extremely proud to work in association with Slaters and Anita Massarella.

Having worked on several productions with Tom Zanetti in recent months, “we are seeing a prolific actor emerge in Tom, Hollywood cannot be too far away” stated Luke shortly after the shoot. “He effortlessly gets into character with great expressions and body language, and is a true professional”. Lydia and Calla were perfect in bringing some female empowerment to a smooth operator.

Studio Voir shoots for Slaters Menswear and it certainly was, a classy affair.

Everything 007 was the inspiration for our shoot with Slaters. Tom Zanetti stepped into the role of our Bond character with Calla Francesca and Lydia Daniel-Wards as his accomplices. A dark mood set the tone for the shoot, danger and suspicion was around every corner. No one could be trusted not even one of his accomplices, yet a classy and sophisticated style kept the bond feel continuous. Props helped everyone to get into the bond mood with a helicopter and an Aston Martin as our agent’s mode of transport.

It was an amazing effort made by every member of the team and everyone else who got involved to make this idea become reality. Keep your eyes on Voir and Slaters to see the official images from the shoot.
