not every trend deserves space in your wardrobe. Every season brings noise — our job is to bring clarity.

At VOIR, we approach trends like data and treat style as the edit.

I’m a maximalist at heart; I flirt with quiet luxury when softness calls.
Some days I want shoulder pads and jewellery that announces the room before I do.
Some days I want silk, trench coats, and silence.
Style should allow that range.

A decade in fashion taught me this:
Trends are just data. Style is the edit.

THE TRENDS

  1. The ’80s Power Comeback

The pendulum is swinging back to decadence.
Power shoulders. Oversized suiting. High collars. Clothes that feel like armour.

Wear it:

Oversized blazer + silk camisole

Sharp trousers + statement earrings

Gold cuffs stacked like punctuation

Not 1985 nostalgia. 2026 with authority.

  1. Cerulean / Capri Blue

If you learn one colour this season, let it be Cerulean — that oceanic, Amalfi-tile, Capri-travel blue that cuts through neutrals like a sentence.

Navy

Stone

Buttercream

Crisp white

The easiest way to update your wardrobe in one move.

  1. Texture Takes Over

Fringe, feathers, tassels — but edited.
Not boho. Not festival. Architectural.

  1. The Preppy V-Neck Comeback

V-neck sweaters layered over crisp shirts.
Cher Horowitz energy — but she’s grown, travelling, and has meetings with investors.

Wear it:

Slim V-neck + oversized shirt

Loafers or heels

Pearls or metal to contrast

Preppy, but paid.

  1. Silk Scarves Under Blazers

Not on bags. Not in hair.
Under tailoring. Tucked into trench collars. Styled like structure.

Wear it:

Vintage silk + black blazer

Satin under trench neckline

Monochrome for quiet impact

The trend that says: I know exactly what I’m doing.

  1. Funnel Necks, Forward

Yes, they’re still here.
The 2025 breakout silhouette is evolving into light spring fabrics: leather, suede, bonded jersey, crisp cotton.

Funnel-neck leather jacket + wide jeans

High-neck knit + trench collar

Funnel-neck tops with minis

Face-framing. Outfit-sharpening.
Effortless impact.

  1. Mocha Shades

Black’s softer replacement.
Mocha, caramel, chocolate — the new neutral that behaves like a luxury code.

The LINO womenswear show started off in classic Owens’ doom: a demonic melody played as obsidian ensembles opened the show, the Palais de Tokyo setting shrouded in artificial fog. But as soon as colorful petals began falling from the sky, we knew something was different. Sure, they were in reference to when Roman Emperor Heliogabalus notoriously suffocated his guests with rose petals (‘I didn’t have enough of them to kill everybody’ said Owens), but an uncharacteristic positiveness was in the apocalyptic fog.

The distorted song revealed itself to be Diane Ross chanting ‘I still believe in love’, the fragrance from the petals pleasantly lingered, and the fog was in bright shades of pink and yellow. The inspiration behind this change was Bjork: ‘I went to (her) concert and her intelligent, life-affirming energy made me kinda embarrassed of my own mopey adolescent pessimism.’ said the designer.

That’s not to say that the show wasn’t Owens at its core. The opening looks established a black theme filled with skin-tight silhouettes, long leather skirts, and structural jersey draping that remained a theme throughout. Models wore alien-like black contact lenses and slicked-back hair with micro bras, oversized gloves, and shaded sunglasses. Wastlines were high and hemlines were low, complete with the brand’s signature pointed shoulders.

But then entered this utopic hope. Pink, burgundy, red, and brown reiterations of the black getups appeared, with delicate wedding trains and capes substituting sheer funeral veils. Then came silk garments billowing in the wind and the ‘donut’ gowns we saw last season– puffball cylinder-shaped mini and midi dresses in toned-down pastels. It’s that same faith we had in the models, watching them brave through stairs and wind in sky-high platforms and orthopedic gladiator sandals.

It was surprisingly refreshing seeing his usual structural artwork interpolated with more wearable pieces– we can’t remember the last time we saw Owens do cropped leather jackets, and his decision to use lava red is sure to bring in commercial success for the brand.

In LINO he found a cautious sanguineness, making us see the beauty present on Earth amongst his signature melancholic futurism. There was no better way to show this than by using eco-friendly recycled yarn for getups that were perfect for an ecological apocalypse. The five final looks certainly made us think of doomsday preparation: differently colored hazmat loose jumpsuits covered every inch of skin. From beginning to end, Owens urges us not to ignore the bitter and harsh reality, and yet he inspires us to find the light in the darkness.

The Denim Skirt

This past year, all things denim have been resuscitated from the 90s straight to our wardrobes. Although the fashion world usually fights over which trends are coming back, we’ve all agreed on one thing: denim skirts are more in than ever. It dominated this season’s fashion weeks, from the Maison Margiela and Diesel shows to Rihanna and Bella Hadid’s street-style looks. Whether you wear a dark wash midi skirt with a blazer as a spring office look or a micro one with a cropped cami for a summer rooftop party, the denim skirt is here to stay.

The Cargo Skirt

Another aesthetic that won’t be going away this spring is Y2K. But what does this look like for our skirts? You guessed it: cargo. If you were one of the fashionistas sporting cargo pants this winter, this is the perfect way to give the look a spring makeover. And if you weren’t, now’s the time to finally try out the trend! Although it has a military origin, celebrities and influencers everywhere have adapted the look to fit their style– and you can too. Get inspired by Aiyana Ishmael’s schoolgirl core and wear it with loafers, or copy Elsa Hosk’s casual look and dress it up with a leather jacket. Spotted at Miu Miu and Blumarine, it’s official: cargo skirts are the new spring staple.

The Ruffled Skirt

It’s nothing new that ruffles and spring go together like Beyoncé and Jay-Z. And what better way to welcome the season than with a signature spring look? Vertical ruffles have been spotted at Milan and New York fashion week, and are a sure way to make a statement and embody your feminine energy. Leading the trend is the it-girl cult brand Fancí Club, with Doja Cat and Hailey Bieber both donning it. We know ruffles can be a bit too dramatic, but adding them to a skirt is the perfect opportunity to try it out without fully committing to its ostentatiousness. You can dress it down by styling a mini version with some kitten heels and a white tee, or lean into the drama by coupling a high split chiffon piece with a daring top. This spring and summer we’re sure to see fashion lovers playing very differently with the trend, but one thing is for sure: we’re all adding ruffles to our wishlist ASAP.

The Boho Crochet Skirt

If you were one of the ones that learned to crochet during the pandemic, we’ve got good news for you (and we’re extremely jealous): boho crochet skirts are back. You may remember saving these to your Pinterest board circa 2014 but don’t be surprised if they start to make an appearance again. The 70s look has been gaining momentum over the last few months, especially with the arrival of festival season (Hi Coachella!) and the popularity of the Daisy Jones & The Six TV show. Its semi-sheer nature makes it the perfect piece to survive a warm spring day or a scorching summer, so this June you can
catch us watching knitting tutorials on YouTube obsessively. If you’re not up for the extra work though, here are some of our favourite picks:

The Breezy Maxi Skirt

Nothing screams spring more than a lightweight, breezy skirt– and this time around we’re giving the look a maxi update. A warm weather classic, the loose, long skirt will have you wanting to dump even your favourite pair of jeans. It’s no wonder it’s loved by stylists and A-Listers everywhere– it comes in many colors and prints perfect for any occasion. The possibilities are endless: pair it with cowboy boots and a graphic tee to go thrifting or wear it as part of a bold coloured co-ord for a clubbing look. Our point is, if you need to be picnic-ready at three but have a fancy dinner at eight, the breezy maxi skirt is the way to go.
