Last week marked the five-year anniversary of Rihanna’s last album; ANTI. We’re grateful to have had five years of Rihanna’s album since it’s the ultimate soundtrack for living your best life. Rihanna’s icon status isn’t limited to the music industry though, as she’s also conquered the beauty and fashion industries. Here’s a look at our favourite fashion moments from Rihanna and how to recreate them for yourself.

In February 2020, Rihanna attended her Fenty x Bergdorf’s New York Fashion Week party in the chicest orange ensemble we’ve ever seen. Rihanna flawlessly pulls off a monochromatic orange look and adds some subtle hints of gold to the look with some jewellery and parachute boots, keeping the warm tones topped up.

This lilac tulle Mary Goddard dress was one of Rihanna’s most iconic looks. At the 2017 Fenty Beauty launch in London, Rhianna experimented with proportions and texture and brought us this pastel dream. We’re loving the all-lilac vibe.

Perhaps one of Rihanna’s most talked-about fashion moments ever – when she was ‘covered in Swarovski crystals girl!’. Attending the 2014 CFDA Awards, Rihanna wore a Swarovski Crystal encrusted Adam Selman gown – and wow, what a moment. It’s believed that Adam Selman used over 220,000 crystals for the gown. A matching headscarf and gloves accompanied the Selman dress, whilst a fur stole draped over her arms. Very unsurprisingly, Rihanna picked up the Fashion Icon Award that night.

If you’re looking for some matching outfits, Rihanna is your best bet when it comes to getting some inspo. This full out snakeskin get up was a look that will go down as a glorious moment in Rihanna’s fashion history. Back in 2018, Rihanna stepped out in Sydney in this memorable Versace hat and dress, complete with custom Louboutin’s – heavenly.

]]> Hot on the heels of expanding her massively successful beauty line Fenty Beauty, Rihanna has unleashed her inclusive and empowering lingerie collection Savage x Fenty, dropping her exclusive Valentine’s Day pieces.

The singer, make-up mogul and businesswoman released the much-desired lingerie collection in 2018, and with Valentine’s Day approaching, it only makes sense for Riri to show us some love. Sharing a cheeky sneak peek at the new collection on her Instagram, she got the internet hot and bothered for the drop.

Savage x Fenty made its debut appearance on the runway at New York Fashion Week this past September, and the lingerie line has become the most sought-after for well-fitted lingerie in a range of styles that work for every day as well as special occasions.

Rihanna says, “Lingerie is not just about exploiting the female body, it is about celebrating it and that’s what Savage is all about. Savage to me is such a powerful word. Especially for women, you know. Women are usually looked at as weak and needy and Savage is just that different woman. Autumn Winter ’18 is tipped to be a fashion frenzy and Vogue has set us off on the right foot. With the covers of both American Vogue and British Vogue having been released last week, social media has gone into a frenzy over Queen Bey and the one and only Bad Gal hitting up the respective covers.

The September Issue of Vogue is arguably the most influential in the fashion calendar: september signalling the start of the fashion season and showcasing all the forthcoming collections and trends. So these ‘fronts’ to mainstream fashion signal tremendous progress, inclusion and acknowledgment to women of colour the world over.

Not only was Beyoncé chosen to star on the cover of American Vogue, she was given full unprecedented control. From the clothing to the layout of the cover, Queen Bey could be exactly what she wanted. As the first African American to be featured on the cover of the September Issue, it was fitting that Beyoncé chose an African American photographer to shoot it.

At just a tender 23 years of age, Tyler Mitchell is the first black photographer to shoot the September cover, as well as one of the youngest. His work focuses on the intersection of youth culture and racical identity, something Beyoncé is not far from herself.

Bey expressed the importance of working with young artists of colour allowing creative doors to open and the world to see their potential. Chatting to Vogue Beyoncé enlightened us that in this day and age, it’s so important for people all over the world to see people who look like themselves in positions of power, in books, and in films. To not feel intimidated or limited by the colour of their skin. This can be seen in her music and films.

And not forgetting this side of the pond, Rhianna took a different approach to British Vogue, staying in keeping with the flower headdress theme. Who knew flowers could look so good?

Bringing her Fenty Beauty to the shoot, the undisputed BadGal brought ombre lips and skinny brows back from the dead and we’re totally in love with her look.
