Next on our beauty radar is the electrifying glam rock makeup from Alectra Rothschild’s powerful show, “Masculina.” Titled “You Are Wasted Here, You Are a Star,” the show made a bold statement about the societal position of trans people, declaring their undeniable brilliance despite a world that fails to fully appreciate them. “You are wasted in this world because we are not appreciated for all that we are. Kim has been breaking down boundaries that have been built by society for transgender women since she won her first Grammy in 2023, alongside her co-winner Sam smith. Grammy viewers noticed she was wearing a very identifiable shade of red lipstick during the award show, specifically a Mac lipstick. And just over a year later she’s made the incredible move of becoming one of their brand ambassadors, and on the brands 30thbirthday.

The campaign depicts Petras in a billion-dollar dress, literally. In the first of the two main campaign images she was dressed in an oversized pink Billion-dollar bill. She wears her signature long blonde Barbie like locks and a Mac signature red lip.  In the second she is buried in a pile of the iconic bullet shaped Mac Viva Glam lipsticks.

The shoot was creative directed by Lele Julianna alongside a talented team of makeup artists and set designers including Gilbert Soliz, Hair by Iggy, Harry Lambert and Thosmas Bird. The extremely talented team pulled together to create this iconic campaign raising $520 Million, the highest achievement of the Viva Glam range to date, supporting communities affected by HIV and AIDS.

]]> The 2024 Met Gala beauty looks for the enchanting “Garden of Time” theme, inspired by J.G Ballard’s short story from 1962, didn’t disappoint and we thought we would break down some of the stunning faces that stole the show for us.

Zendaya’s Villain Arc

Zendaya’s look, or looks, definitely didn’t disappoint for her first year as co-chair of the Gala. She definitely sits up in our top 5 after she shook the world of Met Gala fans on May 6th when she walked the carpet twice. She sported two stunningly striking looks, Margiela by John Galliano for her first and never worn before archive Givenchy from 1996 for her second and both looks were styled by styled by the jaw-droppingly talented Law Roach.

She accompanied these looks with two corresponding beauty looks, the first channelling dark, fairy-tale villain energy. She combined shades of pink and purple and exuded incredible dark feminine energy. The second look was far softer, and more romantic peachy toned glam extenuating her bleached, skinny brows.

Emma Chamberlain’s Earthy Glam

On the red carpet, Chamberlain also embraced dark feminine energy with matte, sombre brown makeup that completed her earthy grunge look and matches perfectly alongside her 2003 floor length Jean Paul Gautier gown.

Tyla’s Water Droplet Nails

Tyla came for the throats of the Met Gala veterans at her very first Met Gala ever – and definitely secured future invites back. She stunned in a custom sand sculpture dress by Olivier Rousteig for Balmain. She fully dove into the time aspect of the “Garden of Time” theme by pairing her sandy hourglass figure with an actual hourglass as a “handbag”. 

However the part of the look that completely stole the show for us was her water droplet illusion nails, making an homage to her chart topping debut song “Water”.

Doja Cat’s Chrome Tears

Doja Cat was perfectly on theme, dressed as a teary-eyed sculpture that you’d find in an enchanted garden. She wore simply a wet oversized t-shirt, which accentuated her curves much like that of a sculpture.

FKA Twigs Dripping In Diamonds

For this years Met, twigs instead opted for a custom Stella McCartney look, worn over embellished crop top and matching hot pants and was quoted to be “dripping in Stella McCartney diamonds, which are lab-grown,”.

Ariana Grande’s Fairy-tale Glam

R.E.M founder and chart topping singer Ariana played homage to her fairylike features which worked perfectly for her and the Garden of time theme. She wore a full face of her own makeup brand with holographic 3D appliques on her cheeks, almost appearing as wings  paired with stunning opal, diamond earrings.

Lana’s ‘Tree Chic’

Only Lana could make dressing like a tree look chic. With the help of her make up artists Etienne Ortega, she paired this Avant Garde look with a stunning doe like brown toned glam underneath the mesh of her look. He utilised his own makeup line, including his go-to Lana Del Rey lip combination, which consists of his Agave Glow Colour Stick in Petals in the middle and Soft Contour Lip Liner in Cinnamon Girl. Ortega applied Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin Foundation on Del Rey’s face and her Super Easy Eye Palette to her eyes.

We are seeing so many girls trying “Barbie makeup” which is, you guessed it, all about pink, specifically exaggerated pink blush. We love this look by stunning influencer Isabel Rose In which she shows us exactly how to achieve this super pink blush with a gorgeous doll eyed lash. She credits that one of her inspirations for creating this look is the real life Barbie, Sabrina Carpenter.

We’ve also spotted the gorgeous Bernicia Boateng sporting the same exaggerated blush look but with a dramatic slate coloured eyeshadow look that we are just obsessed with.

Soft Romantic Glam

For those of us that are down to try something a little bolder, whilst still wearable, we are obsessed with the monochrome movement.  We are in love with this look on Rare beauty mogul Selena Gomez. Selena became the queen of blush after the unbelievable success of her cream blushes, which shes paired with pink eyeshadow and a bold red lip. Another amazing example if your wanting something more subtle is this soft Ballerina like look on Cindy Kimberly and her pink blush and pink iridescent highlight combo.
