There was no glossed perfection backstage. No glass skin catching artificial light. No hypercontoured cheekbones carved into algorithmic symmetry. Instead, Sam Visser delivered something
rarer on a major runway: restraint. Depth. A kind of cinematic quiet.In a season dominated by
luminosity and polish, Visser chose shadow.

The eyes were the epicentre. Not the sculpted, Instagram-friendly smoky eye we have come to
expect, but something softer — more intimate. Charcoal and matte black were pressed tightly into
the lash line, then diffused outward until the edges dissolved into skin. The effect felt lived-in rather
than drawn on, like eyeliner that had settled into the rhythm of the wearer’s day — except every
smudge was deliberate.

There was no metallic shimmer to glamorise it. No sharp wing to editorialise it. The pigment held
weight without hardness. It framed the gaze instead of lifting it. It created a sense of interiority —
as though the models were thinking something we weren’t privy to.Visser understands contrast in a
way that feels almost painterly. He builds darkness not as decoration, but as dimension. By avoiding
sparkle, he allowed the matte texture to absorb light rather than reflect it, giving the eyes a depth
that felt architectural. And then there was the skin. In another era, this runway might have been accompanied by high-gloss highlight and hyper perfected coverage. Instead, the complexion was startlingly honest. Freckles remained visible. Pores remained visible. The finish hovered between matte and sati. Foundation, if present at all, was featherlight. Concealer appeared only where necessary. The cheekbones were not aggressively sculpted. The face looked real, but elevated . A battle between correction and enhancement. In an industry that has spent the better part of a decade erasing texture, this choice felt intentional. Almost defiant.

Gucci’s current aesthetic thrives on tension: archival references meeting contemporary cool,
romantic silhouettes offset by subcultural undertones. Visser’s makeup mirrored that exact duality.
The smoky eye nodded to heritage glamour – the kind of kohl that once defined fashion’s more
decadent eras. The lips played their role with quiet discipline. Softly hydrated, tinted in barely-there nude or muted rose, they anchored the face without competing. There was sheen, but not lacquer. Presence, but not proclamation. When the eyes carry narrative, the mouth listens.
What emerged was a face that felt cinematic rather than cosmetic. There were hints of ’70s
underground portraiture in the smudging. A whisper of early ’90s minimalism in the untouched
skin. A trace of gothic romanticism stripped of theatrics. It was glamour without gloss, intensity
without aggression.

Sam Visser belongs to a new generation of makeup artists redefining what luxury beauty looks like.
Still remarkably young within the industry’s hierarchy, he has built a reputation on atmosphere
rather than ornamentation. Where others lean into highlight and contour as spectacle, Visser leans
into shadow as emotion. He prioritises texture over shine, mood over symmetry, depth over

]]> This April is an exciting time in the beauty world. Spring’s on its way and so is a whole bunch of new skincare and beauty products! Here’s everyone thing you need to know about the upcoming beauty launches this April.

1. The Ordinary Post-Acne Treatment

The Ordinary are usually quite secretive with their launches, and this launch coming up on March 28th has us at the edge of our seats. Teasing a photo of the product on Instagram captioned “bounce back after breakouts”, The Ordinary announced a live stream on the day of the launch to reveal the product and answer a few of their customer’s questions about it. From what we know, it seems to be a post-acne treatment serum, made to target acne scars.

We don’t know about you, but we’re super excited about this launch.

2. Boots Glow Illuminating Mist

The Boots Glow range has been largely successful since its launch in mid-2020. The range offers a wide variety of products – from serums to moisturisers to lip masks – at an incredibly low price. The new product is an illuminating mist, similar to their brightening mist, except it gives a much more dewy finish – and we all know that the dewy look is having a bit of a moment right now.

3. Kiehl’s Ultra Pure High-Potency Serums

This range of serums consists of the Niacinamide Serum (for oily skin), Hyaluronic Acid Serum (for dry skin and Glycolic Acid Serum (for textured skin), all of which provide visible results within mere weeks. They have received so many positive reviews from their global customers and we can’t wait for them to launch in the UK so we can get our hands on them. These 3 serums will be launching in Selfridges on April 5th.

4. Gucci Make-up Quads

These beautiful gold palettes launch on April 1st at Selfridges, and we’ve already started our countdowns because we can’t wait to get our hands on them. There are three different palettes coming out and, although they may just look like eyeshadows, these little guys can be used all over the face as highlighters and blushes and even lips.

Lexi Jong talked through two out of the three palettes in a video posted to YouTube. The highly pigmented products boasted a very sophisticated array of colours as she swatched the shades on her arm.

5. Maison Crivelli Oud Maracuja

Maison Crivelli is a niche fragrance house with a brand-new fragrance coming out on April 1st at Selfridges. This new product featured a vibrant, passionfruit-infused scent. Their products usually feature more classy and modern fragrances and we simply can’t wait for this new fragrance to blow our minds.

Nevermind the trend of dressing like a rockstar’s girlfriend, Miley Cyrus has been dressing like the rockstar she is for years now, and we are here for it! And taking centre stage at Glastonbury in skintight leather trousers, knee high boots covered in buckles, a white cropped vest and dripping in jewellery confirmed that she is THAT girl.

When Miley Cyrus does a Pride event, you just know that the looks are going to be good. The show was packed with elaborate looks, each one as loud and proud as the last. Our personal favourite was the bright pink feathered Jenny Packham dress that Miley wore on stage and in promotional photos.

All Leather at the iHeartRadio Music Festival

Another look from Miley’s rocker chick era, Cyrus took to the stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in an all-leather ensemble, even down to the gloves. The look matched her performance perfectly which was energetic yet grungy. The comparison of this look against her more 70s inspired pastel looks just show that Miley truly can do it all.

Met Gala 2018

Miley’s 2018 Met Gala look is one that will go down in the history books. The low draping Stella McCartney gown was paired with a dainty cross necklace sitting at the base of the cowl neck tying into the theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. But this gown was not just a party in the front, it also had a beautiful and daringly low back.

THAT YSL Dress

Potentially our favourite Miley fashion moment of all time was the sparkling Saint Laurent gown that she wore to the 2019 Vanity Fair Oscars Party. The gown shimmered from head to toe, had a delicate plunge neckline that knotted at the waist and a thigh high split, the combination of all of these elements worked to create not only the perfect dress but the perfect dress for Miley, classic yet edgy.

]]> Gucci has created a uniquely creative campaign with Hypebeast to capture the essence of their monochromatic redesigned styles. The monochrome collection is made up of freshly designed versions of their classic footwear products – the Basket, Screener and Rhyton. 

The reinvented Gucci Baskets are available in high and low-top styles, with contrasting black and white stripes. The famous Screeners with a 70s-inspired flair have been designed in white leather with a dual-colour sole. Last, but not least, the chunky souled Rhyton comes in a black and white colourway as well as a full black.

However, Gucci is not the only one recreating masterpieces in monochromatic colours. New contemporary artists Elspeth Vince, Navinder Nangla, and Shaquille-Aaron Keith have chosen one of their past artworks to recreate in a colourless form. Just like the trainers, the artists’ work are transformed into black-and-white paintings. Focus is put on forms and shapes as these paintings are shown in a different perspective- similar to the Baskets, Screeners, and Rhytons. Blurring the lines between art and fashion and merging the two worlds together head-on, is exciting and inspiring. 

Inspired by lots, Vince took influence from conversations among friends as well as her own body to tell the story of this piece. She puts focus on memory through her playful use of light and shadows.

Nangla sees his work in a therapeutic manner as he takes joy in creating his artwork.  Inspired by his mantra ‘destruction is a form of creation’ his black and white painting is everything we love about contemporary and modern art. 

Shaquille-Aaron Keith believes he is a storyteller before he is an artist. Art allows him to tell stories which otherwise may not be told. His painting tells the story of his youth and allows him to reflect on his adolescent years. Although his painting was already a monochromatic masterpiece, he took the inspired decision to invert everything in his composition. 

The Campaign

The campaign caught our attention very easily as Hyperbeast create an auction scene allowing Gucci wearers to bid on the three paintings which were re-imagined by the artists. A comedic, while remaining high fashion tone is used in the campaign which speaks the nature of the brand. Bidders are cleverly wearing the monochrome collection which is easily spotted in the unconventional auction room while they try to outbid each other on the paintings. The campaign ends with the auctioneer- Columnist Raven Smith- awarding the highest bidder the win. Now that is an auction we would like to attend.

The campaign showcases the models in all forms of motion as they dance and exercise in front of brightly coloured backdrops. The models are of course sporting the newly iconic collaboration which blends high fashion with casual sportswear, while a contemplative soundtrack plays.

Alessandro Michele has stated his inspiration for the campaign derived from the archived 1979 Adidas catalogue, which can be seen through the retro sportswear featured in the collection. Both brands’ voices are reflected strongly in the campaign which gives that extra burst of life and tells us (if we didn’t know before) Adidas x Gucci are a good fit.

The capsule collection very successfully merges the two worlds of fashion (high-end and streetwear) to symbolize there are no rules when it comes to fashion design and expression. Athletic silhouettes are mixed with traditional high-fashion Gucci staples such as silk scarves and leather heels to create an intoxicating potion we can’t get enough of. The famous three stripes are expressed on many of the capsule’s pieces, as well as both the logos of Adidas and Gucci. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Gucci collaboration without featuring vibrant and lively prints.

Iconic pieces from both brands have been replicated in the collab, for example, Adidas Gazelle trainers and Gucci Belts. This collection brings a fresh and well-welcomed take on the classic, loved pieces of the two fashion giants. Along with the revamp of notorious items, the collab also brings us new and exciting concoctions, which we couldn’t resist from showing you!

]]> After debuting its A/W’22 collection at Milan Fashion Week back in February, Gucci has finally dropped the long-awaited accompanying campaign, fittingly titled ‘Exquisite’, inspired by iconic cinema scenes – so grab your popcorn.

Visualized by none other than Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele, the photo and video series features key looks from the Italian brand’s latest runway show as well as a collab with sportswear powerhouse Adidas.

Shot and directed by photographic duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, along with art direction by Christopher Simmonds, partnership with Warner Bros., and replicas of original costume designs curated by Milena Canonero and Charlotte Walter; the campaign transports viewers through a
surreal cinematic journey, paying homage to renowned filmmaker Stanley Kubrick’s most celebrated cross-genre works by replicating notable movie scenes including Barry Lyndon (1975), The Shining (1980), and Eyes Wide Shut (1999).

“I’ve always imagined my collections as films able to convey a cinematography of the present: a score of stories, eclectic and dissonant, that can sacralize the human and its metamorphic ability,”

In the one-minute eccentric fashion film, models channelled iconic cinema characters in Gucci attire including sporty-glam Adidas suits and gowns, powerful faux-fur coats, autumn-ready pleated skirts as well as statement accessories and bags from the A/W’22 collection which will be available for purchase soon.

Channelling the gothic scenes of ‘The Shining’, a black sheer lace top is worn with a blue corduroy midi skirt, chunky leather belt, suede knee-high boots and a blue Gucci x Adidas cap for a retro look as well as a green trench coat and white knitted Gucci x Adidas co-ord on the floors of the spooky Overlook Hotel.

Inspired by the dystopian ‘Discovery One in 2001: A Space Odyssey’, an olive-coloured rebellious ruffled evening gown worn with lace tights and buckled leather boots is situated on a futuristic spaceship.

]]> All hail Queen Bey, not only did Beyoncé surprise the world with her long-awaited seventh studio album ‘Renaissance’ but she also served killer looks that were well worth the wait.

Dropped on 29th July, six years since her last solo release, the 16-track album is the soundtrack to our hot girl summer filled with diva dance anthems that has us drunk in love.

The Grammy award-winning singer wrote on Instagram: “My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”

The diverse album art shot by Mason Poole and styled by Marni Senofonte and KJ Moody, Beyoncé’s personal stylist, the artist dons Mugler, Schiaparelli, Gucci, Alaïa and Philipp Plein, among other designers proved that Beyoncé really is that girl as she served high-fashion looks fit for a queen. From heavenly get-ups to dangerously sexy fits, here are the top flawless looks that have us crazy in love.

For the album cover, Beyoncé looked like an alien superstar as she slayed on a glistening silver horse wearing barely-there custom Nusi Quero body armour along with long locks and a dark eye look.

Shining bright under a disco ball, the pop icon wore a Gucci Love Parade gown by creative director Alessandro Michele with Wolford’s Individual 10 Stay Ups tights and metallic silver lips.

Beyoncé brought the bold energy in this custom Maison Alaia strapless black knit catsuit with statement fluffy boots.

Looking heavenly in a halo, Queen Bey posed in a golden bodysuit and matching halo by Melissa Simon-Hartman paired with thigh-high Philipp Plein 24k gold boots and a gold statement lip.

Channelling another pop icon Madonna’s cone bra, Beyoncé wore a Haute Couture Schiaparelli black leather moulded bustier along with stockings and statement earrings.

Looking licensed to kill in custom Mugler, Beyoncé wore a silver metal bustier shining under a black gathered dress with silver cuffs, black Jimmy Choo Anouk pointed-toe pumps and a killer beehive.

In this psychedelic shot, Beyoncé posed in a black and white swirl bodysuit with matching earrings, leather gloves and sunglasses.

With this being the first of a three-act project, we can’t wait to see more from Queen Bey…

]]> Gucci honours men’s fashion in the Albert and Victoria museum’s first exhibition dedicated to artistry and diversity of masculine attire and appearance. The Italian fashion luxury house sponsored the museum’s first major exhibition on menswear fashion titled, “Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear”. The show traces how menswear has been fashioned and refashioned over the centuries, and how designers, tailors, artists, and their clients have constructed and performed masculinity, and unpicked it at the seams. A not to be missed exhibition also co-curated by the London College of Fashion.

After opening a café and a cocktail bar in Florence, Gucci is at the heart of a new initiative, more cultural than gustatory. The Italian fashion house has joined forces with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to create an exhibition that traces the history of men’s clothing. A theme less highlighted than its female counterpart, but which nevertheless implies centuries of inspiration and creative innovation.

“I hate the word unisex,” said  Gucci’s artistic director Alessandro Michele in a talk with Alexander Fury on Monday night at the Victoria & Albert Museum. His line of work at Gucci has never been about making unisex clothes. Michele revealed that when it comes to starting a collection he always starts with a suit, which has traditionally been a constraint but is now one of his main inspirations. The collaboration between the iconic fashion designer and the men’s fashion exhibition is, therefore, a natural fit.

On the program: sculptures, paintings, photographs, films, performances, archive pieces… In three routes, a hundred or so works of art will be exhibited alongside several dozen silhouettes by contemporary designers.

The first part of the presentation, “Undressed”, explores the male body and undergarments through a look at the standards of beauty that have been challenged over the centuries.

In the second gallery, “Overdressed” the exhibition focus on the elite male wardrobe, recognizable by its luxurious pieces, an expression of a certain social status, a position of power, and individuality. Armoured suits, dinner jackets, make-up, ribbons, and lace… The tour puts the opulent aesthetic of past centuries into perspective, evolving into modern designs, from Kim Jones to Harris Reed.

Finally, the third and last circuit “Redressed” highlights the origins of the costume, with more sober silhouettes that contrast with the flamboyance of the previous circuit. It features historical garments, such as the archives of 18th-century English couture, contemporary reinterpretations, and numerous photographs of celebrities, from Oscar Wilde to the Beatles to Sam Smith. It is also an opportunity to discover the influence of military dress on the civilian silhouette.
