The official Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin Instagram account also shared the announcement in a joint post, writing: “The wait is finally OVA!!!”

“AFRICA – we pullin up!” the message continued. “Who ready?! We’ve been workin hard to make this happen! We’ll be available in Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Namibia, Botswana, Ghana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe local retailers starting MAY 27!”

Fenty’s expansion to Africa will allow the African population to have access to a wider range of shades, yet again raising the question of the continent’s inclusivity in the beauty and fashion market. The world’s second-largest continent and home to more than a billion people has for too often been spared from the industry’s biggest launches. Rihanna’s line is the latest brand to tackle this discrepancy, and continues her mission to make products available for people with all skin tones, advocating for diversity, inclusion, and representation.

“I am a proud Bajan who also feels a close connection to Africa, and its people,” Rihanna says in a press release. “I’ve had the pleasure, and the privilege, to spend time on the continent and those experiences never leave you. Now, being able to bring Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin to eight African countries and then hopefully more in the future — means so much to me.” She declared.

This is all down to the ingredients used to make the new concoction, such as; kaolin clay used to help extract dirt, oil and impurities, charcoal which detoxifies pores and absorbs oil and impurities, salicylic acid used to clarify the pores, and rhubarb and ginger extracts which work to condition and smooth the skin.

The clay mask itself looks uber soft and smooth having a white, whipped cream like consistency with tiny chunks of charcoal dotted about resembling chunks of cookie in a tub of ice cream, all very fitting considering the name of the product! Cookies N Clean also comes in a small, round greyish-blue pot containing both the brand and product name, so its minimalist nature will make it blend right in on any beauty stand.

As part of the campaign for the new product, Fenty Beauty have focused on letting Cookies N Clean sell itself rather than creating a grand, over the top marketing campaign. Fenty have been showcasing digital creators and influencers using the product to give consumers a direct look at how the product works and let them see just how effective it is. They have also focused on highlighting the ingredients they’ve used to, again, showcase the strengths of the product and what makes it stand out from other face masks currently on the market.

Cookies N Clean launches on April 22^nd on Fenty Beauty’s website and will be available to buy for £32.

Everything you have heard is true. The 31st of July is the date to keep in mind. The Fenty Empire began in 2017 with Fenty Beauty launching one of the first-ever skin-inclusive foundations, which went on to spark “The Fenty Effect”. A movement that inspired the beauty industry to produce more diverse shades. And it didn’t stop there. Since then, the Fenty brand has exploded into a luxury fashion brand, Fenty, and lingerie line Savage x Fenty. Now, Rihanna is diving into skincare.

Rihanna announced the launch for her new skincare line, Fenty Skin, in a promo video featuring bad gal Riri herself, as well as A$AP Rocky and Lil Nas X, showing off their natural beauty and flawless, radiant skin. The short clip shows little glimpses of the pastel Fenty Beauty colour palette, which we have all grown to adore, and shows what looks like a foaming cleanser and moisturizer being used by the singer.

While little has been released, rumors of a skincare line began in 2019 when a trademark was filed for Fenty Skin with the United States Trademark and Patent Office. We may know little about the products being launched, but with what we can gather from the trademark, the line will likely be targeted at ‘medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products.’

For now, the Grammy winner has kept us very much in the dark regarding what products will be released, however certain product names including Flash Nap and Hydra Vizor have been included in the trademark. It’s no lie to say that we are very anticipated to see what’s to come from the skincare line, but we do know that Fenty Skin is for everyone. Yep, that’s right, Fenty Skin is gender-neutral and for all skin types. “No matter who you are, you deserve to have great skin!”, says Rihanna, and we couldn’t agree more.
