Voir got to exclusively attend Grete Henriette’s debut show for London fashion Week, Elysium, last night and its safe to say that inclusivity holds high importance for the designer
along with their proud inspiration from the LGBTQIA+ community. As a brand this is
important to Voir as we stand for inclusive fashion regardless of race, size, shape or class and
were blown away by Henriette’s designs, so we’ve brought you all the insider information of
what went down at the show.
Famous faces were in attendance such as Jazzelle Zanaughtti, Lottie Moss, and Odette
Galbally, all wearing outfits Henriette would approve of. Henriette also has an extensive
portfolio of dressing big stars and our favourite celebrities including, Tyla for her Bose
collaboration, Sabrina Sato, Lizzo, Sam Smith, Paris Hilton, and Lil Nas X, alongside
handcrafting custom pieces for a collaboration between ROTATE Birger Christensen and
Pandora at Copenhagen Fashion Week last summer.

Set inside a church as an ode to her religious upbringing, it was clear that the models of all different shapes, sizes and backgrounds were channelling their inner goddesses with the way they walked slowly and gently around the circular runway. They were draped in Henriette’s signature style of metals and jewels stemming from her love of historical armour, accompanied by delicate music almost resembling wind chimes created by a live harp player.

Photo tabithamary_

Models were studded with chainmail looks in gold and silver or draped in mother of pearl and jewels of different colours, all shaped differently but harmoniously brought the collecAon together. Maxim Magnus walked the runway in a gorgeous chain mail piece draped over the front of their body with nails to match and showed off the look on the platform in the centre of the runway.

photo aethermagazine

Voir was obsessed by the jewels placed one by one along Nadiah Adu-Gyamfi’s spine, and many other models’, all created by the talented make-up artist Sophia Sinot to match each metal look. Henriette thought of everything down to smallest detail as models like Tabitha Corsin had long chains coming off of her nails for her runway debut. She was dressed in a maxi gold chainmail dress encrusted with mother of pearl and clear jewels covering only certain areas.

Photo itstayce

Voir cover star Tayce, closed the show, and blew us away as they walked in a chainmail head dress, sort of resembling a veil and going hand in hand with the religious elements of the runway, including Henriette’s addition of metal crosses on some of the looks. This was the pinnacle of the show as we saw gold metal cascading down Tayce’s back coated with red jewels and pearls, not forgetting the jewels stuck onto their torso to bring the look together.

photo loyolabilbao

As the show started to draw a close the audience watched the models gather around the centre of the runway, which was decorated with crystals, creating a mystical vibe. The models were gently dancing as Tayce stood centre stage on the platform like a celestial being, creating a magical ending to the show.

Voir must say that Grete Henriette created a masterpiece for London Fashion Week, and we can’t wait to see what this incredible designer will do next.

In a show fit for the gods, Greek designers took to the stage in the 35th annual Athens Fashion Week in a showcase of true glamour and authenticity. As you know, Voir Fashion are always on the hunt for spectacular designers and international talent, and since taking to Athens ourselves, in true Hermes style we are here to tell you who’s on our radar. Staying at the enchanting Académias Hotel, Voir got all the behind-the-scenes access and front row footage of the glorious Greek designers, and with special guest John Richmond, our time was nothing less than celestial.

Daphne Valente

With extravagant pleating at its core, Daphne Valente has expertly displayed her methodical craftsmanship and elegant eye through her show at Athens Fashion Week, dotted with pieces from her AW24 collection among with many new elaborate additions in a melting pot of luxury.

Daphne describes her brand as synonymous with timeless sophistication and refined elegance, along with meticulous attention to detail which shone through in her sculptural pieces and accessories. Hues of haunting magenta, deep burgundy and a collage of earthy greens pierced our senses and made up the collection, with nearly all designs focusing on the classic pleat, Daphne is here to remind us that she did it first!
The devil is in the details, and Daphne knows this all too well. The intricate styling included spiked hairstyles, married perfectly with the pleating, and demure accessories as to not take away from the main aspect on show.

Vassilis Zoulias

Vassilis Zoulias was THE show of the week to talk about at Athens Fashion Week. Held at the iconic Four Seasons Athens, the location speaks for itself as the audience watched a show backdropped with the exquisite Greek scenery. Zoulias’ designs eagerly complimented the location with luminous summer tones capturing both the ethereal and sensual essence of travelling to Greece. And with endless, deep blue tones in the garments creating a lively river running down the runway, none could escape Poseidon’s charm.

Zoulias indulged us in a vast variety of pieces. Every occasion was catered for in his collection ranging from draping maxi dresses, sensuous swimwear, and striking blazer co-ords. Much akin to all Greek fashion powerhouses worthy of a place at Fashion Week, the brand prides itself on craftsmanship and tapestry that would rival Arachne herself, and what Zoulias delivered was nothing short of mesmerising.

Parthenis

The Parthenis show entitled “metamorphoses” delighted audiences with their hooded ensemble of transformative designs all perfectly complimenting eachother. The collection redefines everyday essentials with their fresh, iconic designs, relaxed silhouettes, and harmonious tones that guide us on a journey from dark to light in a modern Promethean gift. Reflecting the evolving identities of those who wear it, the relaxed-fit clothing came in a variety of muted earthy hues and intertwined an almost futuristic vibe mixed with a charming, medieval aesthetic in a true homage to the Greek mythology we all know and love.

Hailing from Athens itself, Parthenis pride themselves on having a timeless look with an easy living feel as they capture the elegant Greek aesthetic. In a light and airy runway, a new take on bohemian was achieved, giving it a simplistic, Greek touch.

Dassios

Dassios struck the runway with a truly thunderous collection, showcasing work filled with gothic tropes and dark motifs. Regal velvets, haunting burgundies and blood-stained wine tones redefined god-like while complementary deep pinks peppered the show in pops of jewels.

With his career originating in the costume jewellery world, Dimitris Dassios made sure to incorporate that as the focal point of the collection as the audience beheld grandiose pendants and extravagant jewels draped across models. Dassios also adorned models’ faces with a fishnet veil, creating a sense of mystery to the collection, giving him a unique angle in his show. Along with a focus on jewellery and smudged makeup; this creates a strong point of blurred identity in his work. By anonymising models’ faces, we are able to inject ourselves into the show and denote a personal effect to the collection.

John Richmond

Honoured guest designer, John Richmond, reintroduced 90s grunge into our lives in his rock n’ roll SS25 collection. The sartorial pieces, mainly in dark colours, illustrated a punk aesthetic with a mixture of garments including grungy tracksuits, preppy leather shorts, distressed jeans, and statement accessories adorned with sparking silver finishes. However, elegance was also apparent in his collection and highlighted and deepened the motifs by contrast. This duality that argues and celebrates creates an effortlessly complex image on the runway, showing us all why he is the guest of honour this year.

The English-born designer, clearly well-versed in showbusiness, illuminated the runway as lights flashed over an industrial style catwalk, capturing the essence of his style as he introduced Greece to his vision.

AFW was once again a glorious event for fashion in Greece. From charitable sponsors Georg Jensen, Académias Hotel Autograph Collection and Colgate, AFW is setting a strong and unwavering foundation for establishing a long- lasting relationship between Greek and international fashion industries. Providing opportunities for Greek-born designers and creating strong communities, we know as well as anyone that Athens is a hot topic for fashion.

Create An Impressive Resume

Once you realise, what department reflects your passion, make your way towards creating an impressive resume with help, for instance, Resume Builder on Jooble. It should display your skills and expertise in the area to make the recruiters schedule an interview and hire you on the spot.

Adhere to the following steps:

A Strong Headline

The headline of your profile will be the first thing to be viewed by the hiring manager. Don’t take it for granted or place your name in a fancy font. Try your best to produce a strong headline. Mention your career goals and fashion expertise. Like “Experienced Fashion Merchandise” or “Aspiring Fashion Designer”.

Present A Detailed Summary

The next step is to present a detailed summary. The details should not be restricted to revolve around your past professional experience. You must summarise your relevant skills, passion about fashion, and educational background. Provide examples of how you achieved your goals, such as how you helped the previous company, like by increasing their online sales by 15% through targeted social media campaigns.

The Game Of Keywords

Nothing works well without the usage of keywords. The same game has to be played in job hunting too. Your profile should have the keywords that the fashion recruiters highly use. This will boost your discoverability and assist them in learning about you when they search for candidates.

Attach A Link To Your Work

How will you earn the trust of the hiring manager? You know about your interest, but it’s them you have to convince. The solution is simple. Attach a link filled with examples of your work to your profile. Whatever you have made, be it a fashion portfolio, design samples or blogs, link and highlight them. If your profile is opened by the employers, the link will be sufficient to tell them about your abilities and creative vision.

Conclusion

Building a career in the fashion industry is no rocket science. Just identify which line holds your interest and build a profile that no fashion recruiter can ignore. Happy job hunting on Jooble!
