While some may think of a trench as that boring beige thing regretfully thrown on for a dog walk in the rain, that couldn’t be further from the truth. A fashion icon in its own right, the trench coat is a well-loved piece of protection that has traveled through the eras and still stands today as one of the most popular of its kind.

From the ultimate classics worn by the likes of Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot to the new and updated versions worn by modern-day stars including Gigi Hadid and Kylie Jenner, high street brands and designers alike are continuously creating adaptations of the trench making it a true style must-have, whatever your fashion. Trenches are timeless after all, so if the classic isn’t your go-to, the infamous trench can be your new best friend with just a little twist.

The Classic

For a great classic trench, it must be beige, longline, with a waist-cinching belt, oh and preferably by Burberry! The Burberry trench was a streetwear staple back in the ’90s and with new iterations created by the brand every so often, it remains that way today.
