In a dimly lit room at Jean Paul Gaultier’s legendary Paris headquarters, Ludovic de Saint Sernin opened his debut couture show for the maison with a scream a theatrical harbinger of the breathtaking journey ahead. As waves of anticipation swept through the audience, including Megan Thee Stallion, Jennie Kim, and Rick Owens, the young designer unveiled Le Naufrage “The Shipwreck”, a collection that blended Gaultier’s iconic sensuality with his own raw edge.

De Saint Sernin, the eighth and youngest guest designer to helm Gaultier’s couture line since his 2020 retirement, reimagined the house’s maritime DNA with audacious storytelling. Drawing on Gaultier’s treasure trove of signatures, from cone bras to sailor motifs, the designer delivered a collection steeped in subversive sensuality and unabashed glamour. Inspired by Disney’s The Little Mermaid and a 1997 Gaultier headpiece resembling a ship, de Saint Sernin charted a course through myth, fantasy, and high fashion.

The show opened with a sea-green corseted gown adorned with shimmering scales, evoking a sultry mermaid washed ashore. The narrative unfolded with pieces that told their own stories: gowns resembling ship sails tied with ropes, a headpiece shaped like a ship’s silhouette, and latex ensembles embossed with crocodile textures. Rope-like pleated jersey voile, glimmering tartan, and an astonishing 50,000 brass pearls captured the untamed chaos and opulence of the sea.

For all its theatricality, de Saint Sernin’s collection also honoured the artisanal craftsmanship that defines haute couture. Feathers appeared waterlogged, chiffon was pleated to mimic waves, and traditional techniques merged with bold experimentation. The result? A line-up that felt as nostalgic as it was revolutionary.

Fashion’s most celebrated muses brought Le Naufrage to life on the runway. Paloma Elsesser, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Alex Consani embodied characters in the designer’s shipwrecked tale a pirate, a sailor, a siren each captivating the audience with a singular sense of allure.

The designer’s vision extended beyond the runway, capturing the irreverent spirit of Gaultier while injecting his own brand of “sensual but sophisticated, slutty but classy” allure. “I wanted to tell a story that feels like a unique experience, where every look transports you into a new world,” de Saint Sernin said.

The grand finale saw de Saint Sernin join Gaultier on the runway for a heartfelt embrace, a symbolic passing of the torch. Whether Le Naufrage marks the final chapter in Gaultier’s guest designer experiment remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s couture debut has set a daring new benchmark for storytelling and innovation in high fashion.

With Le Naufrage, de Saint Sernin didn’t merely honour Jean Paul Gaultier’s legacy, he redefined it, penning a bold new chapter in the maison’s storied history.

Eurovision singer Loreen won twice making history by being the first woman to do so and we have an exclusive interview for you all written by Julia Sulkowska here all about her journey as a singer and the exciting things she has coming up. Advocate for acceptance and equality, Loreen empowered women everywhere with this shoot.

On the cover Loreen wears a Whitaker Malem ‘Tied-Up’ body suit, paired with Di Minno shoes as she stands in a striking power pose that fans went crazy for. The bodysuit included leg covers, all Ared together with strings, and her razor-sharp nails matching the dramatic aesthetic.

Her next look was a shining moment as she dripped in gold upon gold. She wears a Caroline Svedbom Snake Chain Dress paired with a Givenchy bracelet available at 4 Element and Di Minno gold shoes. Once again, her nails are a striking point of the look as they mirror the previous black ones and overall show off Loreen’s aesthetic.

Loreen’s final look is cold laser moment exhibiting her feminism in a suite of armour by Albert Collins. Top by Flowery He and skirt by Critter complete the look and create a dynamic and powerful look.

In a Christmas gift come early, the 2024 Fashion Awards (TFA), presented by Pandora, will be fulfilling our Christmas wishes on Monday the 2nd of December at the world-famous Royal Albert Hall. The British Fashion Council (BFC) has also announced that British broadcaster and entrepreneur Maya Jama and musical artist Kojey Radical will return as beloved co-hosts for the awards, guiding us through an evening that celebrates the role of fashion at the crux of culture and entertainment, spotlighting creative talent and telling the stories of the past year in fashion.

TFA have always excelled in bringing together a global community in London, the home of fashion creativity. Working to amplify leaders of change, celebrate excellence in creativity as well as support the next generation of creative talent, this event is also the primary fundraiser of the BFC Foundation which works endlessly to promote the future of British fashion through focusing on education, grant-giving and business mentoring. Through a focus on diversity, equality, inclusion, and belonging, the BFC enables responsible growth through a dynamic and unified community that advocates for creativity, innovation, and collectively supports the industry to grow and talent to gain access. TFA is the primary fundraiser for the BFC Foundation, once again highlighting its importance not only culturally, but for the good of the creative youth.

So, in case you’ve been living under a rock, let’s meet this year’s TFA presenters! The gorgeous Maya Jama, host of mainstream television and radio shows including everyone’s favourite guilty pleasure, Love Island, has become a household name and style icon. Not only stealing our hearts on-screen, but she has also established herself as an avid supporter of British fashion and emerging creatives, even dabbling in design herself and launching a successful clothing collection with Pretty Little Thing in June 2018, followed by a second collection in February 2019 and in December 2020 launching her own face and eye masks range, MIJ Masks, with the first release selling out within 24 hours. In May 2024, Maya joined the BFC Foundation Advisory Committee, showcasing her continued commitment to supporting and championing British fashion.

Kojey Radical, British musician, creative director and mixed-media visual artist is one of the leading voices of a generation of artists and provocative storytellers. Specialising in blurring the boundaries between music genres including grime, hip hop, alternative rap and spoken word, this multi- award nominee, Kojey is an authentic and uncompromising creative force who continues to innovate both in his music and his style. The knowledge of arts and intertwining genres is especially prevalent in the fashion world, and we’re confident Kojey will once again be an expert voice and presenter this year.

Selena Gomez launched Rare Beauty in September 2020, and it definitely changed the beauty world for the better. The brand gained so much attention simply for its ethos, consistently advocating for mental health awareness and creating a sense of community around the products.

We highly doubt that anyone in the makeup world hasn’t heard of the Soft Pinch Blush. This product went absolutely viral on social media. The luscious shades and blendable formula caught the hearts of so many beauty gurus. Another product that would layer perfectly above the blush would be the Positive Light Liquid Luminizer white is available in 8 different shades. The liquid formula is easily buildable, so whether you’re going for a subtle glow or a blinding shine, this product can do the job.

Jeffree Star rose to fame through MySpace and YouTube, posting videos of his magnificent makeup looks, and, when he decided to launch his own brand in November 2014, we were all for it. The initial launch consisted of only three Velour liquid lipsticks and since then has turned into an enormous collection of stunning high-end products. The Velour liquid lipstick range currently has 84 shades ranging from the brightest of pinks to the deepest of blues.

Aside from the lipsticks, the product that stands out from Starr’s line the most is the Blood Lust eyeshadow palette. This 18-shade palette consisted of a beautiful selection of colours that blend together seamlessly. The pigmented formula and gorgeous shades were enough to have us completely obsessed with this product the moment we laid our eyes on it.

This list wouldn’t be complete without the mention of Fenty Beauty. The Pro Filt’r Foundation hit the shelves in 2017, boating 40 shades (which since then has increased to 59 shades!), which promoted inclusivity in the beauty scene. Rihanna herself has garnered a large following from her music alone, making it easy to promote her makeup line, as her fans were practically throwing themselves at the new products when they launched almost six years ago.

The initial launch included a staggering amount of products – which is quite a bold choice for a new makeup brand – but Rihanna and her team at Fenty pulled it off. The top-rated products obviously include the Pro Filt’r Foundation, due to its light, breathable formula and airbrushed finish. But another product that snuck its way to the top was the Match Stix range. These little sticks can be used as contour sticks, concealers, colour correctors and even highlighters. From the diverse shade range to the creamy formula, these little guys are a must-have for anyone dreaming of that perfectly snatched look.

Golden Goddess 

The beautiful Winnie looked incredible as she styled her glittering golden eyes paired with a sexy glossy nude lip. This look looks like royalty; her golden smokey eyes are alluring and utterly gorgeous. This look would be perfect for a classy event, a bougie dinner or a special celebration. This is a super glam look and one that gives the main character energy we all desire.

For those dazzling eyes, you have two options: a compact glittering eyeshadow, liquid glitter, or a glitter pot. The Mac Dazzle Shadow Extreme Eyeshadow is a lovely pigmented glittery eyeshadow that has a wet-like metallic finish and is very silky and smooth upon application. 

The Elf Glitter Melt Liquid Eyeshadow is a gel-based eyeshadow that will help amp up any makeup look and give you full glitter coverage. This product is super easy to use and will give you a beautiful shimmering look in one swipe.

For those of you who are after intense glitter, we recommend using a glitter pot for that extra coverage. The Revolution Viva Glitter Body Balm Golden Girl would be perfect for this look if you want a full glam look. You can apply this using Vaseline as a base to keep the glitter sticky. 

Ultraviolet Sparkle 

Our next look is like our previous one, but it has more of a silvery cold undertone and resembles the soft dark feminine make-up aesthetic. Dua Lipa rocks a serious smokey silver eye that has some ultraviolet glimmers to it. Her muted pomegranate lip finishes the look off nicely and is a flattering colour that complements the cool eye look perfectly.

The Kiko Water Eyeshadow is a lovely black eyeshadow that has a slight shimmery undertone and would accompany this look perfectly for the smokey eyeliner aesthetic. For the sparkly silver ultraviolet eyeshadow, the Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow in shade Aura is a lovely eyeshadow shade that matches the one Dua Lipa styled very closely. This eyeshadow can act as a brilliant product to help achieve that shimmery smokey eye look. 

Finally, for that lip, the Body Shop Matte Lipstick in Osaka Plum is a lovely, muted pomegranate colour that is rich and long-lasting.

Warm Brown

Leave it to Hailey Bieber to rock a warm smouldering brown make-up look with glossy lips. Using the Rhode skin kit, Hailey is rocking super dewy and natural-looking skin alongside subtle eyes with a hint of brown and glossy nude lips. 

The L’Oréal Color Riche Eyeshadow Palette La Palette Nude is a lovely warm eyeshadow palette that would look like warm honey on your eyes. You can use a thin lipstick brush to add the brown eyeshadow to the waterline to create that warm brown eyeliner look. If you’re wanting to spice up the look a little, the Too Faced Born This Way Natural Nude Palette has some lovely glittery shades that can spice up this warm honey look. 

Now for them glossy lips, the Beauty Bay Super Plump Lip Gloss is a plumping lip gloss that will give your lips a lovely glossy finish. This product will plump and moisturise your lips making them look lovely and wet. This lip gloss can serve as a perfect topcoat for your base matte nude lipstick. 

Smokey Selena 

This smokey look styled by Selena is very smouldering and gives off siren eyes which we are obsessed with. The natural bar makeup allows her smouldering smokey eyes to do all the talking. Paired with a nude reddish lip, this look is very seductive and one that will cause a stir wherever you wear it.

The Dior Mono Couleur Conture eyeshadow in the shade Black Bow is a lovely black metallic eyeshadow that can be smudged beautifully and made into an alluring smokey eye. For her luscious lips, the NYX Professional Make Up Suede Matte Lip liner in shade Cannes is a lovely smooth and velvety lip liner that will give you full coverage and help enhance your pout. 

The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in shade Cannes matches Selena’s make-up perfectly and will provide that effortless soft glam make-up look that Selena rocks so well.

Angelic Eyes 

Feast your eyes upon our next look styled by Sami for it resembles angelic yk2 eyes. This look screams the early noughties with the thin eyebrows and the translucent white eyeshadow that rises to meet the eyebrows. This look is truly angelic thanks to the white translucent eyeshadow that makes her eyes look more open. 

To create this look we recommend using a very light concealer as the base of the eyes so that when you apply the glittery eyeshadow on after you don’t need to use lots of product to build by that white contrast.

The Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer is a very affordable concealer that can be used as an eyeshadow base for a look just like this one. For the glittery top layer of this look, the Dior Mono Couler Contour in the shade pearl star would be ideal or similarly the Mac Pop Dazzleshadow eyeshadow in the shade She Sparkles would be a lovely glittery top layer of eyeshadow for this make-up look. 

Now for her thin brows, we recommend using concealer to cover your natural brows and using an eyebrow pencil to go over your brows to create a thin eyebrow look. The Benefit Precisely Brow Pencil would be a perfect product to use as it’s super rich and blendable that can provide a lovely thin brow look.

Purple Eyes 

These next looks by Richie and Bimini are super bold and daring, just up our street. Richie’s look emphasises the eyeliner purple eye look more whereas Bimini uses purple eyeliner across her eyes and eyebrows to create a block look in the middle of her face. Both these eyes are very alluring and captivating with the purple eyeshadow that really makes their eyes pop.

The Urban Decay Naked Ultraviolet Palette is an OG palette that would be perfect for these looks thanks to the various glittery purple eyeshadow shades that would look beautiful on your eyes in either format. The Revolution BH Nightshade 9 Color Eyeshadow is a cheaper dupe for the Urban Decay Palette and includes a variety of beautifully pigmented shades to choose from. 

For Richie’s look, when bleaching your brows, it’s best to do lots of research into the products you’re using, and your own skin type and sensitivities as different products may work differently for different people. But once you have found the correct product for your brows and skin type the Benefit 24-Hour Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel is a brilliant little product that will keep your browns in place and give you that soap brow look that Richie has created so well. 

With Bimini’s look, you can either bleach your brows as Richie did and then layer the purple eyeshadow on top or cover your eyebrows with concealer and then layer on the eye shadow.

Both these purple eyeshadow looks are incredible and we think both are great abbreviations of each other and the purple eyeshadow look. 

Kicki Yangz

Now it’s time for our more editorial make-up look that will blow you away! This first one is extremely bold but very flattering. This creative make-up look can be created by using make-up you already have such as a mix of eyeliner and eyeshadow on your face or alternatively coloured face paint to create this almost sci-fi look.

Revolution has a Face Paint Book Palette that would be perfect to use when re-creating this look. It has an array of colours to choose from that are very well-pigmented and would allow your creativity to flow endlessly. 

For the winged eyeliner that the model styles, the Lancôme Artliner Eyeliner would be perfect to use to create that small bold wing underneath the arty design. 

Finally, for a look like this, it is important to have the correct brushes to use. You want to make sure that you have thin brushes so that the detailing of the design can translate correctly on your face. You then want to use the thicker feathery brushes to fill in the gaps.

Diamond Moment 

This next look wins the award for the most glammed look we have included thus far. Rowi has blown us away with her mixture of glittery eye shadow and diamonds stuck around her eyes and forehead. Her lashes are golden and assimilate a subtle cat-eye look. This look is super stylish and one that we can’t stop staring at.

When sticking rhinestones on your face is important to know if you have sensitive skin or not as the glue used can aggravate some people’s skin. We recommend a patch test first before wearing any glue on your face to avoid irritation. 

The Beauty Bay Glitz Glue is a glue that can be used on your face and body and would be ideal to use to stick rhinestones on your face. 

For the rhinestones the smaller they are the more likely they will stay on your face, so we have included some beautiful glittery rhinestones that would look perfect when trying to create this look. We also think the Victoria Beckham Lid Lustre eyeshadow would look perfect on your eyes for this look.

SZA shows off her gorgeous figure in the gorgeous Louisa Ballou design. Blooming beautiful, as inspiration for the collection comes from her paintings of flowers in bloom. The rings which are carefully and manipulatively placed on SZA’s dress are a key telltale it is a Louisa Ballou design. In love with the designs and in the future, we hope to see SZA in similar fits. No blue feelings attached to this look.

Flawless. The long sleeve, maxi, printed dress suits SZA on another level. This picture has the power of influencing immediate search results for similar dresses. SZA is a picture of perfection in the elegant black gown. A style that will never go out of fashion and keep producing amazing reactions. In her iconic style, the dress of course, features cuts. With an asymmetrical shape cut from the torso of the dress and a high leg slit, it adds a sensual element to the classic style.

The Little Mesmerize

Everything about this look is giving Ariel aesthetic, and we are not complaining. The ‘Kill Bill’ singer places as much care into her hairstyles as she does her fashion. We loved the red hair and think her choice to wear a delicate teal satin dress was a marvelous idea- our very own Disney Princess.

Blazer Boss

We shouldn’t be shocked by this point, but it is incredible how many styles SZA can pull off. The androgenous suit look is a big yes from us. The oversized boxy blazer remains symbolic of women’s empowerment as women adopted styles in menswear. Very fitting for the feminist icon and she creates a level of sex appeal by wearing nothing underneath. 

Double Trouble

Glitzy glam for the single released with Kali Uchis. The almost matching outfits are memorable looks for both singers and we hope remain as iconic as they do now. Maybe not for your everyday, but certainly top tier outfit inspiration which we could not miss out.

]]> Calling all Jlo fans. The 25th of November 2022 marks the 20-year anniversary since the release of This Is Me… Then. And Jlo has been treating all of her Instagram followers to reminisce about some of her iconic looks within the last 20 years as a mark of celebration. After all, what is more synonymous than Jlo and fashion icon. The queen of bling just announced that she is releasing a new album called “This is me Now”. The alb will mark J.Lo’s first album in eight years, following A.K.A. in 2014. The tracks on the 2023 album, whose exact release date has not yet been revealed, are described as “plaintive, confessional songs, reflections on the trials of her past, upbeat jams celebrating love and sex.”

From tracksuits to Knee-high boots, Jlo was no stranger to all the beloved styles of the early 2000s. We love reflecting on these gorgeous y2k looks and thought we would share them with you to honour Lopez’s great achievement. 

Unreleased images shot by Tony Duran show us the hype of the 2000s style. Head-to-toe millennial pink, Lopez was always wearing peak 2000s styles which gave her status as not only a superstar but a fashion icon. 

Straight from the 2003-time capsule, will this look ever go out of fashion? A round of applause for Jenny from the block, please. This look confirms what we all thought we knew; Jenifer Lopez is the ultimate sassy and sexy icon. 

Jlo loved her headscarves, floppy hats, berets, and beanies. Special shout out to her for her use of hats and headwear which is still celebrated 20 years on. From baby pink knitted berets to chainmail headscarves, we are still waiting to see if there is anything she can’t pull off. 

The iconic image of Jlo in fur. This is a look that should be kept safe for generations to come to gaze upon lovingly. Her aviator glasses and fur combination screams confidence and empowerment. Lopez has always dressed in a female-empowering style, and we thank her for her services.

MTV’s Total Request Live in 2001 saw Jennifer Lopez grace the stage in classic y2k low-rise leather trousers. I’m sure spectators will still remember her performance as well as her outfit. We also adore the cropped American Football Jersey Lopez is wearing, and of course, her classic hoop earrings. 

At the peak of Juicy Couture and fashionable athleisure, Jennifer Lopez was the poster girl for matching low-rise tracksuits. The trend of matching tracksuits remains a nostalgic moment of the early 2000s and we can certainly give Lopez some credit for the craze. 

Reflecting upon these images tells us Jlo has really managed to pull off everything she has worn. From hyper-feminine styles to hyper-sexy fits, the 2000s saw her style versatility. Although she may have always been adaptable with her style, they all have something in common; they remain iconic and memorable. 

Excitingly, along with her inviting us to reminisce on past looks, she has also released This Is Me… Then on vinyl for the first time ever which is available now! One thing we are sure of is our love for Jlo- does not cost a thing.

Better known on Instagram as Kickiyangz, we are obsessed with her fit of the week. Kicki describes her look as “giving clown core and I love it” and we certainly love it too. The tie, shirt, tights, and chunky loafer combo give off a schoolgirl aesthetic with a modern twist as she matches argyle checks on her tights and sweater vest. We love the added shades of cool blue from her utility, cargo-style skirt, and fleeced coat. 

Maya Jama

Maya is driving us mad with this super stylish racer look. The House of Sunny fit is giving serious formula 1 vibes and my gosh, does Maya Jama look amazing in it (career change?). She’s paired the leather ensemble with a cropped white top which allows the two-piece to make a huge statement. We’ll be sure to catch Jama on the track soon giving Lewis Hamilton a run for his money. 

Bebe Rexha

This week Rexha gave us futuristic fashion as she attended the MTV EMA Awards. The exaggerated shoulders, corseted bodice, and teardrop cut-outs are fresh, and we can’t get enough. The metallic aesthetic of her fit catches the light subtly and allowed her to shine even brighter during her performance.

Winnie Harlow

Harlow may have been courtside, but she was sporting full early 2000s. Shown supporting her partner at his basketball game this week, Winnie Harlow could be seen covered in diamontes and jewels. Layered with sparkling bracelets, Harlow also carried a small, glittered handbag and wore bejewelled jeans. The return of the noughties casual tank top and oversized fur coat gave this look the edge that we love to see. 

Kylie Jenner

This week we are praising Kylie for her fearless look at the opening night of the Thierry Mugler Archive Exhibition in the Brooklyn Museum. The skin-tight sheer black catsuit covered Miss Jenner and at the same time revealed her in an intimate fashion. We loved this look and think it captures the essence of high fashion in one glance. 

Ella Snyder

We love the glam and casual combo Snyder gave us this week. The light, delicate satin gown paired with the leather dark brown boots and aviator jacket to match gets the stamp of approval from us. Embracing the colour of the season and jumping on the fur collar trend Ella Snyder is right on trend. Delicacy meets functionality. 

Khleopatre

It is official. We are in love with this look. The fit is elegant and glamorous and gives the catsuit a new meaning with the cheetah print. Khleopatre’s back is revealed in the black sheer catsuit which she shows off to the camera.  This truly is a look which we will not be able to stop thinking about.

Rosalia

We are obsessed with the sleek shades and effortless style of Rosalia’s rollerblading look. The star combines the practicality of sport with head-turning fashion as she rolls around the streets. The comfort and style combination is definitely in and we are happy to see Rosalia embrace the outdoors in her fashion.

Sav Hudson

Hudson shows off her style as she poses in front of the Hollywood sign. We are big fans of her long black trench coat paired with her colourful trainers. We are happy to see another beige, argyle print sweater being showcased this week on Hudson as well as Kicki. 

Bia

Wow. Our last look is certainly by no means behind the rest. Bia incorporates a hyper feminine pink look with classic biker style leather. We love her baby pink heeled cowgirl boots and matching half moon shoulder bag. The figure-hugging look is styled with a baggy biker jacket giving us a revival of the leather trend.
