The Collection

Set to launch on the 1st of November, Kylie’s fashion line is to include not only her design but will be collaborating with guest designers throughout the year working to serve dynamic concepts at an affordable price point. It seamlessly blends elegance with streetwear, offering figure-hugging silhouettes and lots of leather. Each piece boasts quality materials and meticulous design, ensuring both style, comfort, accessibility.

The Inspiration

Kylie’s fashion journey is the primary muse for her line. Her unique aesthetic marries sophistication with personal flair, a style many aspire to emulate. Her first line will feature Namilla the Berlin brand who’s playful eroticism is well known amongst fashion forward figures such as, Julia Fox, Paris Hilton and Christina Aguilera. Already this brand has made a name for itself in the world of shocking, well thought out and provocative fashion. Now is in collaboration with power house King Kylie.

Kylie Jenner’s fashion line is a triumph. It epitomises her signature style, making high fashion accessible, and inspiring the fashion choices of her younger fan base. It cements her role as a style icon and entrepreneurial influencer, reshaping the fashion landscape. An already glittering jewel of the Kardashian-Jenner household prepares to make yet another stunning debut. The true embodiment of a girl boss.

]]> Diesel is a brand for the uninhibited. Following on from their sex-positive show at Milan Fashion Week, Diesel is continuing their promotion of the hedonistic. Their Spring Summer 2023 campaign takes us on a trip to Pleasure Island, a judgement-free paradise where everyone is welcome: a geographic reflection of the brand itself.

The campaign is truly reflective of Diesel’s consumers, showing confident and unreserved models across a variety of genders, races, ages and body types enjoying an indulgent stay in the tropical playscape. Creative Director Glenn Martens, Art Director Chris Simmons and photographer Johnny Dufort work together to create an environment that promotes the unapologetic individualism that Diesel has come to represent.

The campaign features a variety of looks from the SS23 collection including a couple of variations of the oval D cut-out design and every piece of denim that you could imagine. Diesel’s reinvigoration of denim has become almost synonymous with the brand and that remains true throughout this campaign; from denim corsets to layered jeans, Diesel continues to advocate for the re-imagination of denim. And of course, no Diesel campaign would be complete without the iconic belt skirt, which appears in Pleasure Island’s nightclub in a metallic silver shade.

Speaking of belts, the campaign also showcases a variety of accessories from the brand including their underwear collection inspired by sets popularised in the 90s. The tropical backdrop of Pleasure Island also allows us to see the Diesel Eyewear collection in action. This collection was a partnership with EssilorLuxottica and featured five new styles to play with. And while Pleasure Island may not be a real vacation spot for this summer, you can visit the land where “all desires, kinks and indulgences are welcome, whilst all judgmental attitudes are not” every time you dress in Diesel.

Burberry has undergone a rebranding. The iconic British luxury brand has released their latest campaign, which happens to be the first campaign released under the direction of new chief creative officer, Daniel Lee. Burberry are taking a bold step in the modernisation of their brand due to its rich heritage and associated prestigious nature. However, this campaign has shown us they are not sacrificing the historic brand ties to British culture, nor their own brand identity. 

The brand has done well to express to us that this is the new them and changes will be occurring. All past Instagram imagery has been removed, leaving no traces of the past within their social media presence. Their logo has also been updated too, re-enforcing this is not a drill for the fashion giant. A fresh perspective and direction for the brand is on the horizon.

However, the campaign is still heavily influenced by the brand’s heritage and association with Britain. The campaign features many British musicians, including John Glacier and Shygirl. The images were specifically and intentionally captured in front of many famous landmarks around London, such as Big Ben and Houses of Parliament. Their iconic check features in many of the new shots as well as signature pieces, such as the Burberry trench coat. We have therefore been re-assured that they will not lose their heritage, as they adapt for the modern market and consumer. 

We are excited to see what is instore for Burberry as Daniel Lee takes over the branding. A collection has not yet been created under his authority, however, will only be a matter of time.
