The monochrome trend burst onto the fashion scene in the 1920s after Chanel pioneered the revolutionary single hued ‘little black dress’. Since then the trend has evolved away from just black and white dressing as designers and influencers incorporate the trend into primary blues, pastel pinks, and recently stars like Sav Hudson even made the case for all yellow looks. So, whether your fashion ethos is simple and chic or bold and blazing, this trend can be incorporated into your wardrobe whatever your style.

While the spring/ summer shows of Courreges dedicated to one colour per look, street style influencers like Olivia and Alice show us that playing with two tantalisingly bright shades of a colour can create playful and coordinated looks that will make your wardrobe pop!

Monochromatic dressing is perfect for those of you who want to add some spring colour to your wardrobe without having to say goodbye to coordinated outfits.
