The British Summer gives us one thing: high humidity levels and, therefore, frizzy hair. Everyone who has experienced frizz at least once knows how lousy it is when hairs stand up and fuzzy, irregular curls surround your head. A bad hair day can seriously drag you down, so we gathered a collection of products that will make your hair sleek from conditioner to sleek spray.

The two most significant causes of frizzy hair are humidity and damaged hair. Moisture in the air can enter hair strands and bin the protein inside, making your hair go back to its natural shape. The result is frizz. Damaged and dry hair is more susceptible to frizz as it has a raised cuticle layer, which allows moisture in the air to swell the strands.

Shampoo

If you stopped washing your hair daily, you are already on the way to sleek hair. Sulphates in shampoo helps to remove dirt from your scalp and hair, but they also strip your hair from its natural oils. It would be best to reach for moisturising shampoos without sulphates and alcohol to decrease frizz. Also, don’t use hot water when washing your hair as it strips your hair of its natural oils.

Conditioner and masks

As mentioned above, moisture is essential to say goodbye to frizz and hello to sleep hair. Therefore, use a hydrating conditioner like Moroccainoil Hydrating Conditioner or Living Proof No Frizz Conditioner every time you wash your hair. Once a week, you can treat your hair with a moisturising hair mask. Apply the mask to your wet hair after using shampoo and let it absorb into the hair for 5- 10 minutes. It will leave your hair feeling soft and sleek.

Oils

Hair oil is a necessity for frizzy hair. It moisturises, softens and strengthens your hair. It also protects your hair from friction and losing moisture. So, get the oils out and coat your hair daily! Oil works best on damp hair before blow-drying, but you can apply it throughout the day whenever your hair needs some love.

Serum

Serums and oils often get confused, but they are entirely different. Serums are styling products that contain vitamins and minerals. They act as heat protection for heat styling or can be used to manage frizz after styling. Serums coat the surface of your hair to prevent moisture loss. Apply one or two pumps in your damp or dry hair before you style it.

Leave in conditioner

A leave-in conditioner is another excellent way to provide moisture and fight frizz. For best results, apply your leave-in conditioner after using your favourite conditioner. Just spritz the leave-in into your hair, let your hair air dry or style it as desired.
