The 97th Academy Awards brought Hollywood’s biggest stars together for an unforgettable night of cinematic celebration and, of course, show-stopping fashion. From opulent, crystal-drenched designs to gothic lace and daring sheer numbers, here are the best-dressed stars of the night. But it didn’t stop there, once the awards wrapped up, the Vanity Fair after-party gave stars the opportunity to push the fashion envelope even further. Here’s a breakdown of the most dazzling looks from both the Oscars and the after-party, along with the electrifying performances that stole the night.

In Christian Siriano

Academy Award winner Halle Berry delivered a lesson in Hollywood glamour, stepping onto the carpet in a Christian Siriano gown that looked like a mosaic of fractured mirror pieces. The silver strapless gown featured a stunning mosaic of fractured mirror pieces, intricately lined with silver sequins and sheer black panels that added a sultry edge. With a structured bodice and a flowing train of cascading sequins, the gown was nothing short of dazzling. Styled by Lindsay Flores, Berry kept the accessories classic with Pomellato diamond jewellery.

In Custom Balmain & Swarovski

Never one to shy away from a bold statement, Doja Cat arrived in a Balmain leopard-print gown inspired by a vintage 1953 Pierre Balmain design. The strapless gown, which took 5,600 hours of hand embroidery by 46 artisans, featured a deep sweetheart neckline and mermaid-style train, proving that couture craftsmanship is alive and well.

But her sartorial moments didn’t end there, later in the night, she took the stage in a dazzling custom Swarovski dress, dripping in over one million crystals as she belted out Diamonds Are Forever in a spectacular James Bond tribute.

The dress featured a dramatic cowl neckline, corseted bodice, and elegant draping, evoking an effortless Marilyn Monroe style glamour.
In Custom Mark Gong

Lisa made her first Oscars debut in a custom Mark Gong tuxedo gown, reinterpreting menswear with a dramatic, feminine edge. The look featured sharp tailoring, a red flower pin, and sparkling rings softened the sharpness of the look, making it a seamless balance of power and elegance.

When she hit the stage for Live and Let Die, she transformed into a vision of elegance in a black embellished gown with red detailing, proving her status as both a fashion and performance powerhouse.

Oscars 2025: The After-Party

In Custom Balenciaga

Kim Kardashian made a sticking statement at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar After Party in a custom Balenciaga ball gown that exuded both simplicity and modern sophistication. The structured white corseted dress, reminiscent of bridal couture, embraced a form fitting back that played with contrasting silhouettes. In a rare move, Kardashian skipped jewellery entirely, allowing the architectural beauty of the gown to take centre stage. With her sleek, slicked-back bun and barely-there makeup, she delivered a masterclass in refined yet daring evening glamour, proving that sometimes, less truly is more.

Zoë Kravitz

In Custom Yves Saint Laurent

If there was one look that stole the show at the Vanity Fair After Party, it was Zoë Kravitz in a daring custom YSL gown that redefined the meaning of understated seduction. From the front, the sleek, long-sleeved satin dress exuded classic elegance, draping effortlessly to the floor. But from behind, the look took a bold turn with mesh cutouts that exposed her back and bare butt cheeks, making it one of her riskiest fashion moments yet.

Kylie Jenner

In Custom Miu Miu & Ashi Studio

Kylie Jenner embraced duality at the 2025 Oscars, first dazzling in a custom Miu Miu gown adorned with crystals and daring cut-outs, before slipping into a corseted black lace Ashi Studio dress for the Vanity Fair after-party. The transition from structured, high-shine glamour to sheer, delicate lace showcased a perfect balance of bold sophistication and sultry allure proving once again that Jenner knows how to command attention on any event. Though she skipped posing for official red-carpet photos, her presence at the event was undeniable, as she attended in support of her boyfriend, Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet.

Keke Palmer

In Vintage Versace

Keke Palmer, one for the dramatics made a jaw dropping entrance in an archival Versace gown that balanced vintage and sheer daring. Styled by Molly Dickson, the ethereal ivory dress featured a flowing layered skirt and a backless bandeau top, while a sheer bodice revealed her striking rib cage tattoo. Adding a touch of glitz, the gown was accented with a shimmering netted high-neck overlay, giving the illusion of delicate, glittering armor. Embracing her own red-carpet moment, Palmer flaunted the gown’s high slit with a confident Angelina Jolie-style pose, showcasing metallic Jimmy Choo heels. Palmer proved that vintage glamour and modern sensuality can be the perfect pairing.

Kendall Jenner

In Vintage Mugler

Kendall Jenner once again proved her mastery of archival fashion, stepping out in a breathtaking vintage Mugler gown from the SS1992 collection. The sheer black lace dress, complete with patent details, long sleeves, and internal corset, was a sultry yet structured take on the ever-enduring naked dress trend. In true Jenner fashion, she embraced a monochromatic theme, pairing the dramatic piece with patent leather heels and dangling earrings. A nod to gothic glamour with a dose of Mugler’s signature avant-garde sensuality, the look was a lesson in how to make vintage feel undeniably modern.

The 2025 Oscars not only celebrated the best in film but also delivered some of the most unforgettable fashion moments of the year. But once the ceremony ended and the after-party doors opened, the stars took things up a notch pushing boundaries, embracing daring silhouettes, and proving that high fashion doesn’t stop when the cameras do. With archival masterpieces making a triumphant return and custom couture reigning supreme, this year’s Oscars red carpet was a masterclass in style. Which look was your favourite?

The striking red mini dress featured a corset bodice, a one-shoulder strap, and an asymmetric skirt, pulled up to reveal a beaded garter chain adorned with a delicate “T” charm, a subtle nod to either her name or her beau, Travis Kelce. Complementing the ensemble were glittery strappy sandals, chandelier earrings, and a signature red lip, exuding a monochromatic red look that was equal parts romantic and sophisticated.

Which look was your favourite? Let us know as we eagerly await what next year’s red carpet will bring.

The Spring/Summer 25 fashion weeks have been and gone already but the 2025 season is only just approaching – and fast! As we wait to come out of Winter, here at Voir we thought it’s time to give you inspiration for your spring and summer wardrobes so you can curate those perfect outfits and Instagram looks.

We can all agree that everyone wants to have a bag that no one else has, and the SS25 runways were full of unique gems. From Coach to Versace we saw so many cool styles for the Voir readers to know about, with many designers steering away from safe options. Whether it’s a fringe moment or a wild colour combination, you’re bound to stand out.

Sportswear is working its way more and more into the fashion world as we see a multitude of collabs with fashion houses ever year, such as Jacquemus and Dior recently. The fresh silhouettes pair with the durability of sportswear for a unique fusion look or can lean heavily towards the sportswear aesthetic with a baggier design, creating a remarkable versatility.

Bohemian chic is back and Voir loves the throwback in time on the runways. Whether it reminds you of Glastonbury or you just love the motion of the fabric this is going to be a go-to for Spring. The loose fringes are a match for any garment – tops, skirts and even hats you have a plethora of choice.

Plaid captures the essence of Britishness. Burberry and Vivienne Westwood starting it off for us Brits and now we have it in abundance from many brands. Working on any garment, it is so easy to style all year round, not just for Spring but it takes styling work. Try it with plain colours that match one of the squares and you can’t go wrong with this classic print.

Sailor Core

Will sailor core be the big new trend in 2025? It’s looking very likely. Stripes and fishnets aren’t just for boat trips, they’re for every day. This minimalistic print is subtle but speaks volumes on Rabanne’s runway, and Alaïa creates a playful glimpse of what’s beneath with their use of fishnet. This trend is undoubtedly versatile.

Wasn’t it TikTok who said #womeninmalefields? Women can do anything and it’s time for a spin on utility wear and for it to filter into the fashion world. Cheryl Cole was the first and Voir is obsessed with this trend. This cool girl style mixed with army core creates a sexy and poweful woman.

One leg in and one leg out is a trend that graced many runways for SS25, and all the big fashion houses did it, from Coperni to Bottega Veneta and Louis Vuitton. This interesting concept creates a unique play on trousers and overall gives an indoor-outdoor vibe and will definitely make heads turn this coming season.

Fashion houses from New York, London, Milan and Paris have presented their collections through innovative channels and stunning ad campaigns that explored visionary fashion elements, and that demonstrated the flow of creativity that characterises this industry despite the struggles it has gone through this period.

There might have been imminent challenges in the delivery of fashion weeks but their accompanying ad campaigns continued to amaze us without a doubt nor difficulty.

From Pradas presentation of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons creative direction, Versace’s colorful summer heath and extensive model casting, to Dior’s appreciation of Baroque-style, here are our favourite SS21 ad-campaigns to keep track of.

Prada

                    FERDINANDO VERDERI/PRADA

A campaign characterised by the lack of ‘a photographer’… Bizarre yet innovative.
This was Prada’s take for their Spring Summer 202 ad portfolio, a change from the usual marquee photographer and a transition to point out the performance of technology in this ever-changing industry. A particular decision which presented a 360-degree view of the models wearing the collection, but not just any collection, one that takes the form of a conversation… The Spring Summer 2021 is presented as an open dialogue between the brand and us, the viewers, who are welcome to answer a series of questions about our beliefs and perspective on the world directly on the Prada, website which might form part of the campaign itself. We’ve always referred to fashion as a means to expression and this time, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons co-creative direction perfectly captured the essence of this.

                    VERDERI/PRADA

Versace

Versace’s latest campaign presented a world of their own, one capturing their runway show of September under the name of Versacepolis. Versacepolis is beautiful in its own merit but what makes it special are its muses, the “modern Medusas” as explained by the Italian fashion label, that wear the collection characterised by lingerie structures and a bright colour palette. Muses that include Precious lee, Hailey Bieber, and Kenall Jenner amongst many others, that with wet-styled hair, water inspired designs embody spring-summer at its best.

Dior

Dior seems to have gotten over the minimalist ad campaign, even if we have to admit that we had a soft spot for them, now it’s all about extravagance but in the classiest of ways. Dior’s latest campaign concentrates on Baroqueism, recreating the beauty of the 16th century with impressive shots taken by photographer Elen Kechicheva. Maria Grazia Chiuri presents us with inspiration taken from Tarot cards through this campaign that combines romanticism and drama through compositions that contrasts from the monotony of past minimalism.

Fendi

Fendi’s SS21 campaign presented elegance through the idea of relaxation and nonchalance, mirroring the role and use of fashion in our current lives. A campaign with a soft colour palette and a few saturated touches with reds and blues, as seen on iconic dresses and accessories perfect for the upcoming season. The images were shot by photographer Nick Knight in his London studio but evidently reference Rome and the origins of the brand. This is noticeable through the background inclusion of the Square Colosseum, Fendi’s Rome headquarters, a detail that only few will recognise but if they do they will appreciate even more every aspect of this campaign and the complexity of its composition.
